Tank bag

It is very well made. The tank mount ring was very poorly designed. But the bag is very nice. Too small for all the junk I carry.

Just what I was looking for

The Cortech bag has worked perfect for me so far. I mounted it on my 2010 Yamaha FJR1300 and I have it adjusted so the handle bars do not touch the bag when bike is locked. I use this bag everytime I ride my bike. The zippers works great but many times I do not even zip it during a ride because the lid will stay shut on its own. I wouldn't mind having some loops or rings sewn on the inside of bag to clip my keys to. I love this bag.

No more scratches on the tank!

The bag sits about half an inch above my tank. The mount has 6 inches of adjustment on the bottom of the bag so you can position it where you want. If you lay on this tank bag it will touch the tank when you put your upper body weight on it, however the bottom of the bag feels like a neoprene material and has not left a mark on my tank yet and it springs back to the normal position. I ordered the medium size and the optional map pocket was included along with an internal divider.

Worked Great

The Small Tank bag is a little wide in the front (I don't believe the Large bag will work at all) for a R1100RT no matter how far you slide it toward the rear of the Tank. The tank bag will give enough to move the handle bars from stop to stop. I used the bag on a 1900 mile trip including Skyline Drive and the Blueridge Parkway with a Road Tech Zumo 550 attached with the GPS Direct mount Bracket. The Tank Bag didn't leak in the rain but the map pocket is not waterproof

Love It!

The channel around the inside compartment is a little annoying. Small items always find their way into it. There are better bags on the market, but not at this price point. It's an excellent bag for the money. I haven't really tested the waterproof capabilities yet, bit it seems like it should be adequate. I have several Cortech products and they are all a cut above others in their price range.

Recommendation

For my 2002 R1150RT, I had a different tank bag that also mounted above the tank. I ordered the Medium bag and found it to be too large. The small could be a little larger but once the organizer pocket becomes available, I think it will work well. It is waterproof although the map pocket is not. The ring took a bit of fussing to set properly but I am happy with the way it keeps the bag of the tank.

Fits most bikes

My Versys will not take a large magnetic bag because there is not enough metal showing, and I need a solid mount bag. The quality of this bag is what I would expect for Cortech. The thing that separates it from other bags is the flat bottom for setting it on tables and stuff. It does overhang quite a bit but that's what you get for having a flat bottom. The controls do touch the bag on the tightest turns, and you can’t move it any farther back, but it’s not damaging to the bag or bike.

Such Potential

This bag is ideal in many ways: small, weather-resistant, firm, and easily attachable/detachable. It's well-designed, but seemingly has quality issues. I had occasional issues with the zipper, and the handle broke off after very little use. I returned the bag, but because I feel the bag had such potential, I'm tempted to order another. I want to believe the defect was simply a fluke.

Great bag but zippers are faulty

Love the shape, the concept, the bag itself. However the zippers on both sides are getting crossed up and make it hard to close. I don't know if I got a bad bag or what. If the zippers worked properly, I'd give this bag 5 stars all around. 2004 BMW R1100S

tank bag Cortech C/T Dryver

Again, the zippers are very fragile, just broke mine today after 1 yr of use, this is what happens when you over stuff it. Other than that I love the bag.

Excellent bag, but...

Cortech quality is outstanding with combination of excellent zippers and magnetic closers. If you have a ST1300 like I do, even when you put the bag in the most rear position, when engaging the wheel lock the handlebars indent the bag. I only hope future versions will have additional rear-ward positions to eliminate limiting the contents of the bag.

Good concept, but not well thought out

I've used this bag for almost 6 months now, and while it's a good idea, there are some quality and R&D issues. First, the zippers seem to have a very limited lifespan. Highly recommend you *never* try to overstuff the bag, which stresses the zippers to the point they will eventually fail. Overall, a decent idea, but not worth the money. Wouldn't buy it again.
