Fail

Two rivets were not installed on the top knee pad on one of them. The rivets were loose in the box. This renders an otherwise excellent product dangerous. How can I trust a Chinese assembled product that can cause serious injury on impact? FAIL.

Great for adjustable knee protection

I ordered this knee armor with the other Icon field armor (chest and elbow). These were easy to put on as it does not require slipping in from the top since the adjustable velcro straps are attached on one end and swings around your calves to the other side. The velcro straps can also be cut according to your measurements but I have large calves and didn't need to cut them. They are also comfortable to ride in. I forgot I was wearing them after 5-10 miles. The armor bends at the knee and offers protection for your shin, knee, and a bit on top of the knee. They also dry quickly after riding through the rain as the openings allow air to flow from the front.

Great product

The articulating parts are excellent and the fitment is slightly on the large size but not an issue for me. They fit well under all the riding jeans I bought that were built with some type of knee pad already in them that I removed. These will not fit under skinny jeans. The velcro/elastic strap seems to work ok for me with no issues. I wear knee high socks, alpinestars boots and riding jeans they all work together well.

Can't ride without these

Yes, the straps were uncomfortable at first. However once they were broken in, they pretty much disappear when you wear them. In cooler weather they keep you warm and in hot weather I really don't notice them being uncomfortable at all. At this point I'm so used to them it feels weird to ride without them. Definitely very confidence inspiring. After riding with these for a year the straps do seem to be showing some wear. I am hoping that they hold up because I really like them.

nice

The knee pads are larger and thicker than I expected. The elastic straps to hold them up are not all that comfortable next to bare skin. A third strap above the knee is needed. I'll keep them.

Great fit

I really like these but would like if they had more straps to better secure them. They fit under my leathers and will offer more protection.

Nice Protection

I bought these knee protectors to wear underneath my pants. Great fit The only concern I had was that the top straps rubbed a little bit behind my knees. The bottom strap was ok on my socks. So I came up with a solution to that problem, I got 2 old socks and cut the top half off (3" long) and put the straps through the socks. This worked great, no more rubbing.

Great protection, straps have issues but I found a workaround...

These knee/shin guards offer better coverage/protection than most built in knee armour on pants. As others have mentioned the straps have some issues. I wear a small towel under each one at the back. Now I can tighten them nicely so they will not move and I have no comfort issues whatsover with the straps irritating my calfs.

Great protection

Awesome knee guards but I wish there were one more strap on top above the knee. Not that they don't work without a strap above the knee, it's just that when your knees are in riding position the top is kind of flimsy. Definitely not a deal breaker though. Very good protection

Best knee & shin protection

These are seriously the best knee and shin protection guards I've tried. I find them tight under pants and especially with my chaps however I've been wearing them over all my pants and even my chaps. When I get wherever I'm going I just quickly unstrap them and store in my bag . Better than having to eat lunch with knee pads under my jeans that I can't take off without removing my boots. These are so much more convenient wearing them on the outside. Really solid guard and comfortable.

Icon Knee/Shin Guards

Great product for the money, does fit underneath pants if they aren't skinny pants. The straps however can cause redness on the skin if worn underneath pants from rubbing on you but I wear them on the outside so it doesn't bother me. Straps are big enough for anyone since they are cut to length. Only thing I wish this had was a third strap for the knee area so that's held down as well.

Good Protection, funky straps

Overall, I really like these. They're comfortable and they seem to fit with my Alpinestars boots pretty well. However, the straps seem backwards--the strap behind the knee is longer than the strap that goes around my calf. My calf is much bigger around than my knee, and I wind up with only the last 'section' of the calf strap Velcro attached. I've got huge calves (per my wife), and the strap still works, so maybe only a few people will be affected by this.

Not horrible

The biggest issue is the Velcro strap. It makes it easy to take off but it scratches the back of the leg. Fits well under or over jeans depending on the cut of the jeans. I like them and wear them whenever I plan to be on the highway.

Good pads

The fit is good. My legs are narrow the pads are a little wide on my knees, but shin area is covered well. When riding, I don't notice them and they don't get to hot. They look cool and can be used for other sporting events. I wear relaxed jeans so they aren't that noticed under my jeans. I like the CE rating, but not sure if it make a difference. Nice match with my Icon Field Armor Stryker Vest.
