EVS G6 Ballistic Jersey

EVS’s premier body armor suit, the G6 doesn’t leave an inch of the upper body exposed to roost, rocks and crashes. A mix of soft and hard armor, the G6 includes chest, back, shoulder and elbow protection and also contains a double closure kidney belt. And to hold all of this together, EVS has used a lightweight and breathable mesh material that ensures you have plenty of motion and don’t overheat. As a nice bonus, the G6 Ballistic Jersey has the option of including the G6 Hydration System. Slipping into a cavity in the back, the system provides 50 oz. of water during the ride.

bought for DS trip to CO/UT

Ordered one size larger than normal shirt size and fit was perfect. In 90+ degree weather, ventilation was good and now that it's fall it fits great under a sweatshirt & rain gear. I've ridden in it 1-3 times per week for the past 4 months & have seen minor wear. Elastic/velcro forearm straps keep it in position & the kidney belt is great back support for long rides. Armor saved me more than once from falling onto rocks with only minor scuffs. Very happy with it.

Watch the sizing

I agree with the advice I have heard about sizing. Order one size up from your shirt size and you'll be fine. I am 5'10" 170lb and ordered the large. Fits great with a little room to spare. Doesn't ride up and is pretty cool in the heat.

Overall good

Thumb holes are awkward. Need to add a Velcro wrist strap to hold sleeves and pads in place.

Nice features but doesn't hold up

The features on this jacket are nice, it's comfortable while riding and is not too hot in the summer. The down side is I had one minor get off and the left shoulder pad ripped off. The stitching is cheap and the base material ripped too. The forearm protection doesn't reach as far as others either. It's a nice jacket, but I now question how well it will actually protect you in a crash. I will definitely try one of the others.

Awkward Fit

I'm 5' 10", 170 lbs and ordered the large after reading the reviews. I might have just needed to order a smaller size, but it felt too clunky and awkward and didn't move well with my body. Also the stitching seemed flimsy as it looked like it was already starting to unravel in the sealed packaging. I would suggest another brand, the Thor Impact Rig fit great for me, looks to be higher quality and was cheaper.

time will tell

Good design, bought because of large size available. Poor stitching, quality likely to be not very durable but time will tell.

Did not fit

What more can I say. I tried it and the fit was not comfortable, I was hoping to wear this with or without a sweatshirt during the summer. Also it made me feel like a Transformer. I returned it and purchased a mesh jacket.

not good sewing action..

I had purchased this ballistic jersey for my boyfriend for Christmas. At first he loved it. He tried it on fit great. Took it up with him riding and the arms kept twisting around. He was very annoyed. So we took it back and the shop said maybe you need a bigger one. So we tried that. Well the shirt is worse. We couldnt return this to our shop we got it from because the 30 policy. It wasn't their fault but ours. I think it should've been tested first. Great idea but not good manufacturing or sewing. thanks
