What Makes Heated Motorcycle Gear and Clothing So Good?

Motorcycle Superstore salutes all riders who brave the cold and don't let the frigid conditions get in the way of their two-wheel fix. So for those who push their riding season to the limits, we offer a full selection of heated motorcycle riding gear and clothing to keep your passion burning. Here you'll find everything you need to keep your body temp up when the outside temp starts to drop.

As riders, we know that the first thing, and perhaps the worst thing, is cold hands. This makes heated gloves an easy choice for any rider's first piece of heated gear. Heated riding gloves and glove liners help your digits shift, brake and most importantly, twist the throttle! Brands like FirstGear, Venture and Alpinestars have great options for any price range and hand size.

If heated gloves aren't enough to fight the shivers, it's time to look at heated vests, jackets and pants. Using heated gloves in conjunction with other heated clothing will undoubtedly raise your core temperature and make facing those frosty winter winds a breeze. If you want to keep your current jacket, check out our great selection of heated liners and clothing from brands like Tour Master and Mobile Warming.

Now you may be asking yourself, "sounds great, but how do I power my new heated gear?"
There are two ways of getting power to your gear. One of which is by using a rechargeable battery pack. The other is connecting to your motorcycle's battery. If you plan on using one piece of heated gear, a battery pack is probably the route for you; but if you plan on using multiple pieces, connecting directly to your motorcycle's battery is the best way. Here you'll find the heated gear accessories you'll need to connect your power source to your temp control unit. We carry a wide inventory of heated gear adapters, 12 volt cables, coaxial extensions and more. If you plan on having someone join you for the ride, check out splitter cables to share the heat.

Buying heated gear isn't always cheap; however, Motorcycle Superstore always guarantees the best prices on all your favorite brands, and so far we've never been able to put a price on more seat time!

Having heated gear won't make you any less dedicated or less passionate; we're just trying to make riding in extreme cold weather conditions a little more enjoyable. So if you want to be like the rugged rider who fears no weather, or simply extend your riding season a bit, Motorcycle Superstore is the place for heated motorcycle riding gear and clothing.

Works Great - Very Convenient

It's so nice to be able to adjust the settings while you ride, with this wireless controller mounted on the handlebars with included velcro. Worked great for me, also nice to be able to swap between bikes.

Awesome heated jacket!

Rode 90 miles in 25-35 degree weather in central Texas during the summer many times and this jacket kept me warm and content. Below 25* at 80mph, it won't keep you super toasty - but I don't imagine anything could. For those wondering (it was hard for me to find info), the jacket has wiring inside running through the sleeves out to the wrists for gloves or glove liners.

Replaced original wiring harness

I had to replace my original power harness since it had unknowingly dragged on the pavement and ground off my power terminal for my heated vest. I was happy to find that it was available as a separate part at a very reasonable price.

So Far no problems.

I bought this to replace the GERBING'S dual mounted controller as I had gone through 3 in 8 years. I have the controls mounted next to ignition switch on my Honda GL1800. The problem with the Gerbing units was a lack of weather proofing and they would short when riding in the rain. So far these have performed without problem and I have rain tested them.

A Must Have!

I have had my vest for over 5 years and always seem to need it in early am temps below 60 degrees. I usually only need the low setting after about 10 minutes on high. An unexpected bonus was the soothing warmth it provided to my sore back area while riding on a 5 hour trip! A great value for the price that packs up well and is always in my saddlebag.

So Far, So Good!

I bought this along with a "Firstgear 6in SAE Connection to DC Coax Jack Adapter" to use on the rear SAE battery tender connection on my '03 Honda CBR600RR. I haven't had it for long, nor have I tested it in rain, etc... However, it's worked great so far. Even with the connection adapter, it successfully charges my iPhone! =]
