Another Excellent Firstgear Product

All around a great pair of mesh pants. Fit and finish is excellent. Adjustable knee armor enables me to get it exactly where I want it in riding position. Haven't had them long enough to rate durability. Very well worth the money.

Good buy

Size seems to run a bit long, but very good cold weather pants. Have not worn in rain so can't speak to waterproofing. Would buy again.

Great timing, great pants

These pants showed up in the mail in the middle of an unexpected spring heat wave, with temperature in the low 90s. You couldn't ask for better timing. And they're great pants too - solid, well-made, well-vented, with good knee protection, reasonable butt protection, and good design. I particularly like the ultra-long side zippers and the 'access to your pants pockets' zippers located above the regular pockets. At 6'1", 175 lbs, and 34x34, the 34 Tall was a few inches too long for me. The 34 Regular is spot-on, and fits like it's been tailored. And it's sized to fit over street clothes, just as advertised. All-in-all, this is one darn good set of pants.

Nice Pants!

They fit great over my jeans and all zippers are heavy duty. The legs are baggy but air is a good insulator so I wouldn't want them to be snug for cold weather riding. I wear 34 x 34 jeans so I bought 36 tall. They are long when standing but perfect in the riding position.

Very fine!

Very fine overpants, once I got the right size. I like the fact that the armor is easily adjustable. Although I wish the velcro strips for the adjustable knee armor height were about 1/2"-1" higher. The pockets and pocket access slits are very well designed. The liner is a cinch to get in and out, and I had no problems with zipper irritation. The legs were a bit baggier than I needed, but then, I wasn't wearing them with the liner. All in all—excellent.

Love the high zipper

The reason I bought these pants is because I wanted some that would zip up high enough so that I could step into and out of them with boots on. I haven't had a chance to use them much yet but they should be a great pant.

Great pants

I’ve had these for about a month or so, and in the cold weather they do a good job of keeping the cold out and me warm. The fit is good, I am 6'7" so finding a pant that fits even close is tough. The Tall fit of these is very good. I like the adjustable armor in the knees, it allows a "custom" fit for different riders. I haven't taken the liner out yet, but spring is on the way and I’m sure they will allow enough airflow for continued use through the warmer months. I am very happy with them.

Size is just right for fitting over jeans. Quality appears to be good and up to FirstGear standards. Have not had a chance to use them yet but will update once I have tried them.

Nice overpants....

Whenever possible I like to wear pants with armor in them when I ride. With these, I can do it in hot weather over jeans, or put the liner in and use them as rain pants. Well made, nice looking, good fit.

Not Great

First, as others have indicated, these are sized big. I am 6'2", 175lbs and I usually wear a 34x34 pant. I purchased the 34 Tall and the waist was a touch large, but nice for over pants. The length was a little long while standing, but nice when sitting on the bike. The problem I had though was they are very baggy. Much baggier than needed to get over jeans, etc. The bagginess caused them to get caught on my pegs and it meant that the knee protection was nowhere close to being held in the proper location. That brings me to my biggest complaint, the knee protection. What a joke. First, they don't stay in place. Second, when you are not wearing the liner, your foot hits the knee pad every time you put the pants on and rips the knee pad off the velcro. Finally, they are thick rubber that doesn't bend much and is very uncomfortable when they are in place. Just as a point of reference, I do downhill mountain biking and have full knee and shin protection on the whole time, so I know what proper protection feels like. The hip protection is a joke also. So thin, I don't really see the point. Finally, when you unzip the liner it leaves exposed zipper inside the pants, right at the waist. This digs into your skin since the overpants are usually higher than your jeans. This caused major skin irritation. Taking these back.
