    Great jacket

I really love textile stuff. I'm an old biker that just got tired of heavy leather. This new stuff now days is so much lighter yet does a great job. And the price is half or more then the price of leather. I had one of these River Roads and the cheap plastic zipper broke. I took a chance on another River Road and it came with a metal zipper this time.

    Jacket

Pretty much a regular guy/Carhartt jacket look. Everything good is in this jacket. Tons of roomy pockets, zippered snap collar, zippered snap cuffs, 4 vents, quilted cold liner, breathable summer liner. Armor is comfortable, soft out of the box. 6ft 165lbs the large is a perfect fit.

    great jacket

Great jacket. Great fit and comfort. I like the different look. If you dont want leather and are looking for a simple but nice riding jacket, this is it. Also has a removable inner liner for warmer days.

    Nice quality coat

As I have just received, this looks to be a nicely made coat. Beautiful brown color. Great alternative to black and/or leather. Anti-pirate look. ;-) Snap down collars are great and the zip out liner is good too. Sleeves are long enough. Only thing lacking is a two way main zipper for zipping up from the bottom on warmer days. Durability is yet to be determined but the jacket looks solid. Cool coat! River Road seems to have nice moderate apparel.

    Classy, subdued jacket...

Even I look good in this jacket! The only drawback I see is that at 5'10", 180lbs I would probably need a large for 'liner in' cool weather use AND a medium for 'liner out' warm weather use. I bought a medium for spring riding and w/out the liner it fits great and the venting is comfortable into the 80's for me. I'm really pleased with it. I may just buy that large for fall/winter....

Nice jacket, but it's not great.

This jacket looks awesome - you'll feel like a million bucks in it. My only HUGE complaint is that, without the liner, the sleeves aren't stiff enough (or tight enough) to remain down around your wrists while riding! I'm greatly disappointed in this fact. I guess it isn't a concern if you always wear gauntlets, but I don't.

    First jacket feedback

This is my first dedicated riding jacket. I purchased d/t unassuming look. It fits well. Is excellent in keeping wind out and actually is comfortable while riding in the upper 40's-lower 50's weather. Not alot of reflective material, so not the best night time jacket. Also, do not expect any water repelling: it soaks it up if it starts raining. Having said all of this, would recommend to anyone looking for a low-key, temperature-flexible jacket.

Another nice product from River Road.

I'm 5'11" 210lbs and the large jacket fits good without the liner. I picked this jacket because it doesn't look like a biker jacket. The jacket looks and wears well however the zipper appears to be the weak link in the durability department, only time will tell. I wanted to be able to wear this jacket in the Florida summer, but the few times I've worn it so far; I believe it will be too hot.

    My first riding jacket

I got this because it is very plain looking. All the other jackets are way too flashy for me. I've been riding in 70 degree heat without the liner and it's very comfortable and with the liner in I've ridden down to about 45 degrees and think it can go even lower and still be very warm. Has lots of pockets. At first the zippers are hard to zip but after wearing it for a while they break in. Overall I would recommend this jacket to anyone. It is a snug fit with the liner.

Ok jacket but not great protection

The jacket looks fine but I seriously doubt it will offer great protection in a crash. It is short and it will ride up in a crash. Also the material will rip quickly on the Tarmac. The padding is fine and for what it is the jacket is fine. Just don't expect great protection in a crash although it is definitely better then nothing.

    Pretty Impressed!

Previous reviews really helped my decision with this product. Really like the fit and feel, haven't ridden in the rain yet; even with the "armor" installed it wears like a "normal" jacket. A little more reflective strip would be nice, but overall a great product!

    Runs a little big....

This jacket runs a little big, and the color is a little darker than it looked to me online. Other than that, great buy for the money. Breaks the wind, looks stylish, and (hopefully!) will do its job of protecting the rider.

    QC ?

Like another review here, I bought this jacket because I was looking for something that was low-key and not so heavy and warm to wear in the summer weather. I ordered a medium and it was a bit too snug when I first tried it on. When I removed the liner, the jacket fit much better. As I wanted this for the hot summer weather I figured it was not much of a loss. I like the style and cut very much, the sewn in reflective strips a nice idea. They could have added another reflective strip around the bottom also. Now to a couple of real negatives. The zipper on my jacket was not sewn in correctly at the very bottom where the two sides are put together in the toggle. This makes it hard to get the zipper started and it jams. Another issue is that there was a hole in the left front pocket, the same pocket had an inspection tag in it from the factory!!! I probably should have returned it, but I liked the style enough that I will fix the problems myself. The jacket does appear to be fairly water resistant in a lite rain. With a bit more attention to quality control this jacket could be a solid five.
