Got sick of the hard riding, low mileage, bad handling stock Dunlap’s and went with the Metzeler. NO REGRETS. This is my second set. Road cracks used to pull my Roadking around but not with these tires. Good mileage and better handling and BETTER price! Metzeler had a fatter tire to replace my "english racer" style Dunlaps. Fatter look at the rear.

Metzler Wide Whitewall ME 880
What a difference. Put these on my Suzuki Boulevard C50 and I feel like I bought a new bike. Far superior cornering than the OEM tires. Best of all is the tracking. Rode in fairly strong wind this past weekend, very noticeable difference in stability. Lots of compliments on the whitewall look. Gives the black bike a very retro appearance. Highly recommend this tire.

Metzler ME 880 is tops in my book
I have owned 7 cruisers (5 HD and 2 metric); when it came time to replace the tires I always did a fair amount of research and I always decided to go with Metzler..... I haven't been disappointed. A few weeks ago I replaced the OEM tires on my Road King with the ME 880 and I could tell the difference immediately: it handled and felt better.

Really Nice For An Awesome Price
Recently had to buy tires for my 2007 V-Star 650 and picked this up for my rear tire which was bald.
Everywhere I looked, this tire was was $50 more expensive.
I love the performance of this tire, it really sticks to the road. My only complaint is that I wanted a slightly wider stripe.

The best tires I have owned to date
I bought this tire on a trip to San Diego to replace my Dunlop´s, I ride my bike everyday in all kinds of weather in Mexico City, and I was really surprised when I came out of the installation shop. The handling is really an upgrade, they grab the road beautifully, even on not so good Mexican curves, and they also look very nice with beautiful 2" white walls.

Have a boulevard C50T and have put over 100,000 miles on it original tire from Suzuki went 36,000 miles, I replaced it with tire recommended by local shop wore out in less than 12,000 miles. I have gotten over 30,000 miles out of each subsequent metzeler's I have placed great value

Changed to Metzler for the rear tire and WHAT A RIDE!!! Big difference in the turns, (I still have to ride it in a wet road) and it really gives more control of the road, the price was great too!! I'm so happy a month later I've purchased my front tire, same brand, same number, and a better price than the first purchase for my 07 HD Street Glide. Get yours too!!!

Wanna clean these white walls? I have the solutions!
Good tires, but my rear did not last more than 4K miles! Front is fine. To clean the white walls use Goo Gone orange cleaner. Does it in one wipe and I am serious, the grime comes right off and the tires are now paper white! Will not hurt the sidewall. Use no water, just the Goo Gone...you'll thank me!

Seems to ride out ok and the traction is most certainly better. The whitewall finish could be better. The rear tire has small imperfections from the mold process. I think Metzeler could do a better job on the white walls.

I BUY THESE TIRES FOR THEIR SUPERB HANDLING ON DRY AND WET PAVEMENT, ALSO THEIR STOPPING ABILITY. i REALIZE THEY HAVE A SOFT COMPOUND AND MAYBE WEAR QUICKER THAN OTHER BRANDS BUT THE TRADE OFF FOR THE EXTRA SAFETY IS WELL WORTH IT.

Re-Tire!
Love the tire. This was for my Ultra Classic Harley. This is my third rear tire (second Metzler) in less than 20 thousand miles. Light years in performance over the OEM Dunlop that came with my bike when new. Sidewalls seem more sensitive to dirt and grime than should be. Hard to clean, even with a commercial sidewall bleacher.
Moulding of the sidewall at the bead surface seems inconsistent and of poor quality control. Would have liked for the white sidewall to have extended a little farther down toward the tread edge. Overall performance is good, however.

Reasonable Value
This is my second Metzeler that I've put on the rear of my Yamaha, Road Star, Midnight Silverado. The first one is really what I'm reviewing because it was the one that gave me 11,000 miles before it developed a grapefruit sized bubble on the corner of the tread. The matching front tire is still there with plenty of tread and will give me at least another 5-6K.
The Metzelers have given a sticky confident ride with reasonable durability. The I've never had a bike tire bubble like that out of 8 motorcycles over 37 years of driving but I don't think it is a reflection of Metzeler quality. Stuff happens. That's why I bought another one.
Bottom line: If you want a retro wide white wall look for your bike, there are only a few choices. I think the Metzeler is the best for a heavy bike like mine.

Really like these tires!
This is the second set of these tires I have purchased. I get about 18K miles on the fronts and about 12K on the rears. These tires grip the road very well in wet conditions and this is a plus in NE Ohio. Would I recommend these tires to others--YES! I have in the past and people who purchased these tires on my recommendation absolutely love them. Try a set-You will like them!

The White stays White
I have had the front and rear ME880 Wide whites on my Classic for about a month now. I have always been a fan of white sidewalls but the task of keeping them clean has always been painstaking and once you find a good cleaner to get the grime of the brake dust off, it gets discontinued. These whites have something special. I haven't had to scrub them once yet. There's no imprint or logo on the white so the dust just slips right off while I ride. I can't say how much time that save an OCD like myself. I have noticed however, that the tread on the back looks worn already. I measured the depth of the center tract upon installation and the recent verdict is nothing short of what could be expected after a month of riding. It was merely looks. Great tire!! Price is high for a simple look but great tire.

The ME880 that I am replacing only ran about 7k before needing replacement. Although it was subjected to several long trips, two up riding and heavy baggage loads this past summer. I am hoping that this new tire will go a few more miles , as have the other ME880s before it.

Short life
I got the metzler 880 to replace the factory tread on my 2006 Softail Standard. They didn't make the exact size I needed so I went up 10mm from the 200mm OEM. I have to say these tires do STICK to the road. One thing I didn't like was that they seem to steer the rear wheel in a curve. Once you lay the bike over about 75%, the rear feels like it is sliding out from under you. It is not sliding; it is the curve in the tire pushing the rear around. That being said, the longevity I was looking for was not there. I got 6,000 on the OEM tire with a lot of highway travel and only 4,000 on the metzler. Disclaimer: I did do a lot more city riding on the metzler.

Metzler ME880 Wide Whitewall - Rear Tire
This tire came factory fresh from Motorcycle Superstore very well packaged (completely wrapped and braced internally). It arrived on time in great condition.
I installed this tire on a 2003 Road King Classic replacing the original stock Dunlop. This is a far superior tire in all respects. The steering on the bike is now noticeably more neutral in turns. Traction is excellent and the bike is no longer yanked around by rain grooves or cracks in the road. Excellent stability! I highly recommend this tire.

Great White Wall
I replaced the back tire on my '97 Shadow 1100 ACE 1 year ago w/ the stock Dunlop and it performed very well. Overall, this is a great cruiser tire b/c the white stays clean easier and it has longer wear resistance. I gave it 4 stars b/c something about the Dunlop looks more old school and classic (the Metz is a new model & looks more modern). Also I ride hard and there were a couple instances when I didn't feel sure of traction like the Dunlop.
