Great value
I replaced my front tires on my 2 bikes ('85 Kawasaki EN454 LTD and '97 Yamaha Virago XV1100). What a difference from the older style straight tread design. The Dunlop’s are quieter, more responsive and more stable.

Like It So Far
I put this tire on my 1996 Harley FXSTSB. It is slightly smaller than the stock tire and has a lower sidewall profile, but it still handles good. The tire handles well (I have a matching rear tire too). I was surprised how well it handled on wet roads through turns.
Shipping - well, it took about two weeks to get it. I did not know tires did not qualify for the 2-3 day shipping. The tube showed up about a week after the tire.

TERRIBLE TIRE!
Not sure where all the "ggod reviews" came from, but put two (2) new 404's on my V-Star 650. Replaced o.e. Bridgestone’s. 11,000 miles.
These Dunlop’s are hard as a rock, and due to their hardness set up a vibration at virtually ALL speeds. The vibration is so distinct, your toes and fingers tingle after only a few miles.

Dunlops have outlasted all the other many brands I have tried. I also find that they grip the road better and there's little or no hydroplaning in wet conditions. I highly recommend using Dunlops, and Motorcycle Superstore sold it at the very best internet price.

Nice tire. Had it mounted locally and the shop wondered why I brought it in and hadn't bought from them. I got a quote on the tire and they were almost 150% of the cost from Motorcycle Superstore. D404 Metric Cruiser Front Tire
I had 18,000 miles on my Kawasaki 750 Vulcan and needed to replace the tires. I did shop around and like the tread design. I was pleasantly surprised with the performance after the break in mileage. They cornered extremely well on wet or dry pavement and hold a line very well. Needless to say I am pleased.

The traction on this tire is very good. They are quite running although there is a little shimy once in a while on certain road surfaces at low speeds. They could wear a little longer.

I recently mounted these on a '83 BMW R65 and have been very happy with them. I can't comment on wet traction yet, but have been dragging the pegs with no problems. With about 1k on them the tread seems to be holding up well. The old Beemer needs skinny tires by today's standards and there aren't too many choices out there, but these fit well and were priced very competitively. I don't think I'll be going back to Metzler's as long as the 404's are available.

I have only put a couple of hundred miles on this tire so far, but noticed immediate improvement in cornering from the stock tire on my Honda VTX1300C. I was told to go one step up to this tire, and am glad I did. I bought the matching rear and so far, I like that one too.

Great on the highway
Shadow ACE 750. 1100 mile round trip from Denver to eastern Nebraska border area. High wind and passing LOTS of semi trailers. 90+ mph for most of it. Felt great, and had no confidence issues regarding tires!

110/19 Front on Sportster
Although it is still a fresh tire, I noticed an immediate improvement in stability. I think part of this is that I went from a 100/19 to a 110/19 that makes it more resistant to the saw-cut rain grooves here on the Los Angeles freeways. The full range in sizes is part of what makes the 404's attractive -- the 110/19 size option is much appreciated.

Last front tire did great and lasted a long time. This was the second rear tire I put on, and wanted to change the front.
When tires were shipped, they were bound too tightly together. Mechanic had a hard time mounting them as rubber was compressed and didn't seal right away. I'm glad he mounted them and I didn't.

Great traction for a good price
Have probably put 200 miles on the tire (a 100/90 18" for my 1982 GS450e). I got a matched set with a rear. I've been VERY pleased with the confidence these tires give me. I feel stable, confident while cornering and confident on wet pavement. In 200 miles I can't say anything to tread-life, but have no concern yet.

D404 front tire on Honda VLX
My VLX came with a Dunlop F24 front tire. The bike always felt a little nose heavy, even when the tire was new. After 9,000 miles I replace the original with a D404 front tire to match my new D404 rear (same rear tire as OEM). My VLX doesn't feel nose heavy any more. Cornering and "flickability" have really improved over the F24 (as much as you can "flick" a cruiser). I'm guessing the larger tread blocks are what is making the difference. This is the second cruiser that I have used a D404 front tire to replace the OEM. I've been very pleased both times. For me this is the best bang for the buck.

I bought the tire for the name and for the price. Many other tires were as competitive on price but I do not know their names as well. I cannot comment on the wet traction of the tire as I don't ride in the rain!!! Tread life on every cycle tire I've asked about is poor. As I have only had this one a month, I can't say. Traction and stability are much improved over the stock tire that came on the bike. It apparently was the tire the factory installed and only lasted 5k. Handling is much improved though. I installed the new tire for the front and saved about$100. I had the rear replaced at the dealer.

I was pleasantly surprised when I found this tire for less here than what I paid at the "Other Place" I have been ordering tires from. If you buy these things from local dealers, they try to break one off in you. I just wish they would last longer. It actually cost five times more to re-tire my bike that it does my truck when you take in to consideration the mileage you get out of them. But this place had the best price and I hope they do in the future too. Motorcycle Superstore has a return customer in me! Really, they do! I have already ordered a luggage rack and installed it! :-)

I was trying to get the OEM replacement tire for my VTX1800S, but the 150/80-17 seems impossible to get, so I got the 140/80-17. So far, it works great. It's slightly narrower and the bike seems to turn tighter and quicker. Part of that is probably due to the tire being new. I've had about a month or so and have put on a few hundreds miles. Love it.

A good all around tire
This is the standard tire that came with my 2004 V-Star 1100. It handles well in both the dry and the wet stuff. Previously, I had a Pirelli on the front which made the bike corner tremendously but its wet weather traction was so-so. It's a good all around tire that I will more than likely buy again.

This tire came on my VTX 1300 R. I got over 9,000 miles on it. There was still tread on the tire but it was wearing on the left side. I think because of the crown of the road. This is a good tire with good grip and I expect this is good mileage for a motor cycle tire. You don't want a real hard tire that lasts a long time, you need it fairly soft for grip.
