OK tire

I bought this tire from a retailer for a Yamaha V-star classic 1100. The tire is ok. I live in a mountainous region in North Carolina and drive every day to work on my bike was averaging 30 miles one way on very curvy roads. The tires did well as far as cornering and stability, but it left a lot to be desired as far as tread life. Could have been the bad roads or the tires. On average here I get about 5k per rear tire and 10k per front tire, irregardless of tire pressure, or riding style.

better than expected

I bought my first bike two months ago and it had metzlers on. Riding for the first time ever over two weeks with the metzlers I was fairly wobbly around corners. the tires were weather checked so I put the Shinkos on and instantly my cornering stability went through the roof. I feel safe and stable with these tires.

Best compromise of cost, wear and handling I have found

This is the second set on my 1980 Suzuki GS1100e. I ride about 15k a year, so tire wear matters a great deal to me. The bike weighs about 550 lbs and has 100 hp. I get about 8-9k on the rear, and 14-16k on the front. The round profile helps the handling and makes the bike roll into turns very evenly. Naturally, as the tire wears a flat spot, it is not as good. I suspect that those getting low may be under inflating. I run mine in the high 30's psi consistently and get very good wear.

Good tire for a great price

I put this rear tire on a 2001 Kawasaki Concours, and so far am happy with it. It is a great price. It seems to be a good performer so far, I was looking to save a few dollars this time around and will have to wait for a little warmer weather to really test the cornering. I have about 600 miles on this tire so far, and have ridden in the rain a bit. I am very happy with the wet road traction. Hopefully soon I'll get to see how they really perform on dry roads.

Artic Biker

My 06 Shadow Spirit 750 got OE Dunlop 12k, the D404 got 9k and so far these Shinko 230s have about 12k. One day got to test dry, wet, and snow traction in about an hour’s time. Springtime in Denver. By the time I got home there was an inch of snow on the road reaching speeds of 35mph. Very impressed! I love these Shinkos!

Saved money over dunlop but paid in the end

Tire is well built and has good traction, might be good for the light rider. I wore the treads down in less than 5 months of daily riding. Going back to dunlop

Great tire for the price

I put this tire on my VTX1300 last year and have put 6,000 miles on it and expect to get at least another 1,000 before replacing. Pretty good compared to the Dunlop I had before that I got about 5,000 on. The tire rides smooth, quiet and traction is fine on wet and dry roads. I will definitely buy this one again when the time comes.
