Edward Anderson Milwaukee,  WI Too early to tell I purchased by the recommendations of these blogs which I feel is definitely better than going off of a salesperson’s recommendation. I have always run Michelins on my vehicles so I hope the motorcycle line doesn’t disappoint. I was able to have installed just before putting away for winter storage which I debated on but rather than having to wait for the salt to rinse away (WI) than wait on the installation with the spring rush I figured it would be best to have done now to get more use of in the spring. In the short ride, just under 2 miles, to storage facility I could definitely tell that the ride was softer. I ride a 2002 Road King Classic with 15,000 miles on, it had the original tire on front and a replacement on the rear that was installed around 9,000 miles. I will advise in the spring if ratings other than a 5 should have been given (the system forces to select all ratings).

NOEL Round Rock,  TX One month on the road I have had Dunlop Elite 2s on my Yamaha for years and they have performed well with no dry rot or other problems. The salesman convinced me that the Michelins were a better tire. When they arrived I found they had almost the exact same tread pattern. The only negative things I have found so far is the way they are molded in many segments and have about a thousand tits. These tires seem to be a bit softer ride the handling is the same. There were no problems mounting them and they seem well balanced, Time will tell about the mileage. My Personal opinion there is not one dimes worth of difference in the two tires only some falsely perceived name preference. Service and delivery times were as advertised. The other thing is these were made in Spain and not The U.S. as the Dunlop’s are. I am reasonably content. If they wear better, I will be satisfied, Hope this helps you decide what tire is best for you.

Todd B. Waldorf,  MD One of the best! My second set! I'm on my second front tire and my second rear commander and these tires perform excellently! Great balance of softer sticky rubber for good grip in wet and dry with decent mileage. I get about 15K on the fronts and 9K on the rears and I ride my FXSTSI Springer really hard. I think the softer casing on these tires make them perform great and don't follow road seems like some other tires. I'm hooked on these!

Alan Warner Robins,  GA Michelin Commander motorcycle tires Tires have only been on the bike for a week now and I have put about 200 miles on them. I have ridden about 100 in the mountains of north Georgia and the other 100 has been on the highway. I like everything about them except one thing. The tread pattern is almost identical to the Dunlop 402 tires that come stock on new Harleys. The problem is that when driving on the highway were there are rain grooves in the road. The tire will walk & wobble with the path of the rain grooves making the bike ride a little less stable. Unfortunately, the Michelin's do the very same thing. I previously had the Metzler 880's on my bike and were happy with them. The only reason I changed was because I have Michelin tires on all my other vehicles and were very pleased with them so I decided to give them a try on my motorcycle.

Gabe Woodstock,  GA Michelin - Commander Cruiser Front Tire I have only ridden less than 500 miles and so far this tire is everything I expected. I put it on my 1984 Yamaha Virago 1000. The stability, cornering, and drytracking I rated a 5. I haven't rode on wet yet. The price was right and I've never had any better service from an on-line dealer. Keep up the good work, Motorcycle Superstore!

Robert Chelsea,  AL Michelin - Commander Cruiser Front Tire I have had Michelin cars tires in the past and received great service out of them. So when I needed a front tire for my HD I bought a commander; I have put 430mi. on it and its great. I gave it a 3 on tread life because, I have not put enough miles on it to rate it. I will be needing a rear tire soon and I will get the commander rear tire to match. P.S. Motorcycle superstore has great service and products at great prices, and I will tell others.

John Spokane,  WA I'll keep using the Commanders!! I have replaced both front and rear tires on my 04 Yamaha Venture Royal Star with the same tires that came with it. I was very happy with the originals (they had 4-5k on them)and I got the same tires to replace. Getting close to 14,000 miles on the first set I felt there was no reason to change brands. They ride very smooth, corner great, traction is excellant in all areas and tread life is outstanding. Motorcycle Superstore price is a great deal. I will buy from them again!!!

I got about 2250 miles on the Michelins and just got the rubber tits off. Ill send an update on mileage when i order new ones. thanks for a great product and awesome service. John Uttech Mankato,  MN Michelin Commander These tires "soften" up the road, they seem to ride softer than the Dunlops I have run for 20 years. These will be my tire of choice now. Use on both FLSTC and FLHTC and work well on both. They seem to last as long as or longer than Dunlops also. I would never have believed tires would make such a difference in the ride.

James Brookfield,  WI Michelin Commander Front Tire Had a matched set of Michelin Commander tires mounted on my V-Star 1100 Classic and I must say the dry pavement handling is the best of any tire I've ever owned. Starting, stopping and cornering are top notch and they are also the best tires I've owned when it comes to not following rain grooves or road abnormalities. As far as wet traction, its good but it hasnt really been tested yet. I'll have to keep on eye on the tread life but it too looks as if these will be exceptional tires.

Dan Hartly,  DE Commanders Just put a set of these on my 07 Electra Glide, very impressed with them, only 300 miles on them so far but I prefer these much more than the stock OEM Dunlops. They are designed to put more tread on the road for a more stable ride, and I would have to agree that they do that. Price was the same as the Dunlops, and the commander is a much better tire. Can't really rate wet traction and tread life yet, but they sure stuck to the rode when that crazy lady on her cell phone pulled out in front of me last night.

Bill Dargavel Greenville,  MS Only the best for my ride! Already riding with a Commander on the back of my 05 V-Star 1100 Silverado, it was a no-brainer for me. This tire sticks to the road dry or wet. It has fantastic stability on the highway and the twisties. And the best was that it was so well built no balancing weights were needed. Dennis White Carlin,  NV Commander By Michellin I only changed out the front tire to match the rear tire. I put the commander on the rear to replace the original at 5000 miles due to tire cracks in the tread. It also created drag on the bike and made noise. With the original tires just changing lanes was an event. With the improved traction and smother ride I now can ride with confidence, not like the same bike at all. I ride a 2007 Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe. I can't speak of the tread life or wet traction as they are too new and it hasn't rained.

Jackson Kansas City,  MO Great new tires on total restore I totally restored a 78 Yamaha XS650 Special from the ground up. These Michelins hold the road like glue. Very quiet, easy ride, and corners like none I've ever tried. I have been riding since 1969, and have used almost every tire made. The Commander is one of the best out there. I will never use anything other than these from now on. One of my friends also tried these after I bought and rode them. His insight was much like mine. `In my opinion, these tire are A-1.

Chris Daugherty Fayetteville,  GA Michelin - Commander Cruiser Front Tire This is my first experience with the Commander, it replaced an ME880. Wear has been a major concern with each tire replacement, finding a tire to last longer than 8k on the front and 6k on the rear has me trying the Commander. I don't baby the bike, having put a little over 2k miles on the tire and am very pleased with the ride and handling. I ride rural, city and highway during the week, the tire handles all the road types very well, even the roads grooved for repaving. It is a good looking tire and I plan to try the Commander on rear of my Nomad when the time comes.

tim appling,  GA not that good Amazing to me, the tire industry can make tires that last well beyond 50,000 miles for cars for less than $100 but can't do the same for motorcycles. The Goldwing, as most other cruisers, are high mileage at little more than highway speeds. I admit that bikers will crank it out sometimes, but not enough to need a race rated tire. The exception is usually the sport bike riders who may need high performance tires. This seems like taking a captive audience to the cleaners by forcing performance tires on everyone, kind of like forcing a Ford Escort owner to buy tires suited for a Corvette by not making a durable high mileage tire to fit the Escort.
