Second set of Metzeler tires
This is the second set to the Metzeler tires that I have had on my 2006 Street Glide. Getting about 13000 miles on them. They handle well and corners very well. Would highly recommend them to everyone. And the price is quite low through Motorcycle Superstore.

This is a great tire. I ride a Honda 1800 VTX-C and I use Metzeler tires on the front and back. My bike handles a lot better compared to the original Dunlop brand.

I replaced my Dunlops with a set of Metzelers on my third set of tires for my Harley SuperGlide... the Metzelers are by far the better tires... they corner better, they ride better and they don't follow the grooves on the road surface like the Dunlops did. Truly an amazing difference.

Last set of Metzeler ME 880.. got 18,500 miles on a Honda Goldwing 1800 and if I had left them on till they were worn all the way down, could have gone over 20,000.

I put a rear Metzeler 880 on my Vulcan 1500, liked it so well I replaced the front before it was needed. This is a huge improvement over the factory Bridgestone’s. The ride is great, as is traction and no tire noise. I gave it a three on tread life as it is too soon to tell.

Metzeler Tire not for the Honda ST1300
I recently purchased this tire as a replacement front tire for my 2006 Honda ST1300. I immediately noticed a constant "howling" sound from the front tire. I then did a lot of research on other websites, postings, etc and found that this tire has a characteristic "howling" noise when used on the ST1300. It has something to do with the even/symmetrical tire design. Also, apparently it's not a radial tire and is not recommended for bigger/heavier bikes. It's fine around town, but doesn't feel very stable on the highway. I learned my lesson before buying tires. I'll be replacing this tire before the Spring 2010.

Awesome performance
They ride very smooth, don't track on lines on the interstate, drove across the Mackinac Bridge which has a grated center lane and barely could tell. I took a ride from my house south and around Lake Michigan through rain, ice, high winds and 25 miles of snow with a passenger. No problem. This is my 3rd set of tires on my bike, but first with the ME880's. Would buy again!

Got the tire about a month ago, had a Dunflop on the front, replaced it with the Metz, and right away I noticed a big difference in handling and wet weather riding! My girl on the back, even noticed the difference! I have referred my friends to it, they have said the same, and am waiting for the rear to wear out to replace it with the same tire!

Replaced Dunlops on 08 VROD. Much better feel & stability in the front end. No wet riding to date on VROD. I have them on a Rocket III & Road King. Downpour on Rocket...tires cut thru water w/confidence. Highly recommend for more aggressive riders.

Outstanding Tire
I've had the Metzeler tire on the front of my Honda VTX1300 now for just over a month. Man, what a difference over the factory installed Dunlop! It feels like it grips better, it feels like it corners better and I feel like I have much more control. I only give the wet traction a four because I haven't had the chance to run it in the rain yet. I only replaced the front, but when it comes time for the rear, I will look for the same brand.

On my '97 Valkyrie Cruiser...
What a great tire! I switched from Dunlop’s. The ME880's are amazingly smooth, low-noise, corner-gripping and stable at high speeds. The 880's were such an improvement over the Dunlop’s that I had to write a review, which is entirely uncharacteristic for me. These are GREAT tires for the Valkyrie. Highly recommended!

Nice set of tires
I've had these tires on my 2001 Yamaha Roadstar Silverado for about 500 miles. What a difference they have made on the handling and stability on my bike. I had Dunlop’s on the bike for the life of the bike so far (31,500miles)and the Metzler Marathons feel so much better on the bike. I will buy Metzler's again for my bike when i wear these out.

Metzelers are great...I’ve run them on a sportster a couple years back, and currently on my '08 fatbob and on the front of my '83 fxwg shovelhead. I plan to replace the rear tire on my shovel just as soon as I can. In my opinion the metzeler 880's are one of the best all around tires...I love'em for touring..oh, and the price is right!!!

This is the only tire I will ever put on my motorcycles from now on. I can't stand those stupid Harley Davidson Dunlop tires that slide in the corners. These tires lean easier, lean farther, have more rubber under you when you do lean, they're just all around the best. You can actually feel them gripping on the road.

Replaced OEM Bridgestones on my Suzuki C50 Boulevard in prep for trip to Portland, OR. Great improvement, like a different and new bike. Stable, unwavering tracking at high speed plus bearing a 300lb. passenger and luggage, load. Passenger also noticed the difference in the ride. Ditch your dunlops
These tires were a replacement for my worn Dunlop’s. I like them a lot more. I have put a couple thousand miles on them and they hold up great. The slightly stiffer rubber equals longer life but the traction is down just a little but overall I love the tires and they are way worth the cost.

2006 VTX 1800N
I replaced the stock tires, Donlop's, (which were completely worn out) at 8k miles. These tires were awful. Shame on Honda for putting these tires on such a nice bike. The first thing noticeable about the Metzeler tire is the sure handling. The bike feels much more stable and does not follow road grooves. I have a little over 1k miles on them and it appears the life of the tire will far exceed the Dunlop. Even if they were to wear the same I would purchase them again just for the confident feel they give you.

My third set is now mounted and I won't use any other tire. Using this tire I don't get the troughing or grooving tendency other tires produce on uneven pavement. In dry or wet conditions this tire has excellent traction both cornering and under hard braking. I run my tire pressure at 42 psi.

This tire replaced the original Dunlop 21" tire on the front of my 04 Harley Dyna Wideglide. The first thing I noticed was the Metzeler gives a far better ride. It also virtually eliminated the wiggle when you hit a crack or seam in the road. I also felt the tire was more responsive in cornering. It reacts a little quicker. My bike rarely sees rain so no comment on the wet traction. Too soon to tell about tread life but I am very optimistic based on previous reviews and tire reputation. I was so impressed with this tire that I told one of my riding buddies about it. He had planned on getting an Avon Venom to match the rear tire he put on last year. The Avon is showing wear already so he was a little hesitant about the putting that brand on the front. He opted for the Metzeler for the front. The next week he took a 900 mile trip. He thought the tire performance was excellent as well. We are both planning on putting Metzeler tires on the rear when needed. I definitely recommend this tire.

Metzler ME 880 Marathon Touring tire
My original front tire only lasted a little over 5,000 miles. It was also a metzler, but it was a stock Lazertec street tire. Other than the mileage I was very happy with the ride, traction, etc. So, when it was time to replace it I went with Metzler again, but opted for the "high milage" Marathon 880. It has the same tread style as my rear tire and has been excellent as far as ride, traction, etc. I can't rate it yet for wet traction as I don't ride in rain unless I get "caught", nor can I rate it for milage yet as I have only had it about a month. But overall I am very pleased with Metzler and have every intention of keeping them on my bike (07 Triumph America).

I gave a 3 for tread life because the tire is only 1 month old. According to other 880 owners and information I've read, tread life is excellent. I would definitely recommend the tire.

K 1200 lt BMW
The Metzeler - ME 880 Marathon is the only tires for this bike! I have owned 4 K 1200 LT's in my time and BMW use to put these tires on from the factory. The 2009 I bought brand new had Bridgestones and I only got 5,000 out of the front tire all the other K 1200 LT's had Metzeler's and I got 8,000 miles out of the front tires.

Good for the heavy miles
I probably wouldn't recommend these tires for anyone who likes to ride in all weather conditions, at least not the rain or winter. However I'm amazed at how well they hold up. My dad has the same tires with about 10k miles on them and they still look brand new. My only qualm about them is that they don't have the best wet traction, but I can't be surprised either since they last so long because they're so hard. I'm definitely putting a pair of these on my other bike before my next road trip.

I've always liked Metzler. However, it is very strange to see 'Made in Brazil' on the tire.
So far, the tires have performed as expected (I have a ME880 on the rear also).
They are quiet and offer exceptional stability and handling for a bias touring tire.
For my type riding, tire wear is way above that of any other tire I have tried for 100% street use.

I own a 03 Goldwing Trike CSC and have had three dunlop front tires that wear out and continue to cup. After just having the Metzeler for a short time it handles much better than any elite. No wobble no tracking problems and the wear is consistent. The true test is a trip to Myrtle Beach from central Ohio next week.

I am delighted to have changed my existing factory stock front tire for the Metzeler ME 880. I can tell the difference on all curves. Handling is smooth and precise. Great Handling Tire
I just had the Metzelers put on my Honda Shadow 1100 and really like the way they handle and feel on the road. No comparison to the original Dunlops. Cornering is smooth and the ride just seems more stable. Assuming I get decent life out of these tires, I'm a Metzeler fan for life!

18.5k with 500-1k left !!!!!!
As reading through all the rave reviews, I thought about adding my story. I gave it straight 5's across the board for the same reason everyone else did. However, this is my story. I do A LOT of riding, and I needed to get my bike inspected (I forgot and it expired). In looking at the old, rear ME880, it was clear there was not enough tread to pass inspection, so I took it into the shop to have a new rear put on & get her inspected. While paying for the tire & service, the mechanic asked me if that was my bike, I told him yes. He confirmed there was about 500-1000 miles left in tread, but it wouldn't pass inspection the way it was. The guy ringing me up looked in the history and saw that they put the old tire on, and verbally noted How Many Miles I actually put on that rear ME880. All three of us were stunned, and jaws opened when he said I got just over 18,500 miles out of it. They both stated they have never seen anything like that out of an ME880. Usually they replace them around 12-14k. Needless to say, the ME880 will ALWAYS be on my bike!! Cheers!

This is the second front on the old Harley and I'll be sticking with them. Tried Dunlop-poor wear and traction. Tried Avon, vipers- super soft and the rubber cracked within a couple of months, weird wear patterns on the front and the rear lasted 8k miles. Front Metzeler lasted 24k and the first rear lasted 15k, second rear has 9k and still has good tread and no weather cracks.

I installed the ME880 on the front and rear of my V Rod and there was a noticeable difference in handling right away. The Metzeler tires gave me more confidence with stability and traction. The handling in corners was much more stable. I have only put about 800 miles on the tires since purchased so the tread life is yet to be seen but overall I would recommend the tires.

The tire looks good and has tread in the center. I like that, as an open groove means NO rubber (less traction and faster wear)! I only have about 1800 miles on it so far, but hope to get better mileage than I got with the original Dunlop (5000 miles).

initial reaction was they were a little stiffer to push into corners but once there they hold much better.
I am still playing with optimal tire pressures to get best ride and handling. I would buy them again if I can get equal or better tread life than the E3s..
