I put a set on my Victory Vegas replacing the stock Dunlops front and rear. The Dunlop Elite III front was a great tire but the D417 rear left a little to be desired under hard acceleration out of a corner, and wet conditions were a definite thrill ride. Although I haven't had the Metzlers on a wet road yet, I did put a couple hundred miles on them in the dry and so far I am entirely pleased with their performance. I have run an old FLH full dresser Harley pretty hard down the mountain on a pair of these last summer on a damp road without a hiccup, so I feel confident they will perform as well on my Victory. I am running the 90/90/21 bias front and 180/55/ZR18 rear radial. Not sure of the tread life. I ran the Dunlops 8,100 miles and feel they would have run longer had I resisted the urge to make smoke a time or two.

Great Match!
Based on the outstanding reviews, I replaced the OEMs on my low mileage 96' Suzuki Savage with a set of Metzler ME 880s Marathon Touring tires. The combination has allowed me to ride this small cruiser like a sport bike! Superb handling and cornering, with excellent traction on both dry and wet pavement. Tracks true over grooves and other uneven surfaces. Little evidence of tread wear after 2000 miles. Definitely worth the extra cost.

Second set of Metzeler tires
This is the second set to the Metzeler tires that I have had on my 2006 Street Glide. Getting about 13000 miles on them. They handle well and corners very well. Would highly recommend them to everyone. And the price is quite low through Motorcycle Superstore.

I replaced my Dunlops with a set of Metzelers on my third set of tires for my Harley SuperGlide... the Metzelers are by far the better tires... they corner better, they ride better and they don't follow the grooves on the road surface like the Dunlops did. Truly an amazing difference.

I put a rear Metzeler 880 on my Vulcan 1500, liked it so well I replaced the front before it was needed. This is a huge improvement over the factory Bridgestone’s. The ride is great, as is traction and no tire noise. I gave it a three on tread life as it is too soon to tell.

Metzeler Tire not for the Honda ST1300
I recently purchased this tire as a replacement front tire for my 2006 Honda ST1300. I immediately noticed a constant "howling" sound from the front tire. I then did a lot of research on other websites, postings, etc and found that this tire has a characteristic "howling" noise when used on the ST1300. It has something to do with the even/symmetrical tire design. Also, apparently it's not a radial tire and is not recommended for bigger/heavier bikes. It's fine around town, but doesn't feel very stable on the highway. I learned my lesson before buying tires. I'll be replacing this tire before the Spring 2010.

Awesome performance
They ride very smooth, don't track on lines on the interstate, drove across the Mackinac Bridge which has a grated center lane and barely could tell. I took a ride from my house south and around Lake Michigan through rain, ice, high winds and 25 miles of snow with a passenger. No problem. This is my 3rd set of tires on my bike, but first with the ME880's. Would buy again!

Outstanding Tire
I've had the Metzeler tire on the front of my Honda VTX1300 now for just over a month. Man, what a difference over the factory installed Dunlop! It feels like it grips better, it feels like it corners better and I feel like I have much more control. I only give the wet traction a four because I haven't had the chance to run it in the rain yet. I only replaced the front, but when it comes time for the rear, I will look for the same brand.

On my '97 Valkyrie Cruiser...
What a great tire! I switched from Dunlop’s. The ME880's are amazingly smooth, low-noise, corner-gripping and stable at high speeds. The 880's were such an improvement over the Dunlop’s that I had to write a review, which is entirely uncharacteristic for me. These are GREAT tires for the Valkyrie. Highly recommended!

Nice set of tires
I've had these tires on my 2001 Yamaha Roadstar Silverado for about 500 miles. What a difference they have made on the handling and stability on my bike. I had Dunlop’s on the bike for the life of the bike so far (31,500miles)and the Metzler Marathons feel so much better on the bike. I will buy Metzler's again for my bike when i wear these out.

Replaced OEM Bridgestones on my Suzuki C50 Boulevard in prep for trip to Portland, OR. Great improvement, like a different and new bike. These tires were a replacement for my worn Dunlop’s. I like them a lot more. I have put a couple thousand miles on them and they hold up great. The slightly stiffer rubber equals longer life but the traction is down just a little but overall I love the tires and they are way worth the cost.

2006 VTX 1800N
I replaced the stock tires, Donlop's, (which were completely worn out) at 8k miles. These tires were awful. Shame on Honda for putting these tires on such a nice bike. The first thing noticeable about the Metzeler tire is the sure handling. The bike feels much more stable and does not follow road grooves. I have a little over 1k miles on them and it appears the life of the tire will far exceed the Dunlop. Even if they were to wear the same I would purchase them again just for the confident feel they give you.

My third set is now mounted and I won't use any other tire. Using this tire I don't get the troughing or grooving tendency other tires produce on uneven pavement. In dry or wet conditions this tire has excellent traction both cornering and under hard braking. I run my tire pressure at 42 psi.

This tire replaced the original Dunlop 21" tire on the front of my 04 Harley Dyna Wideglide. The first thing I noticed was the Metzeler gives a far better ride. It also virtually eliminated the wiggle when you hit a crack or seam in the road. I also felt the tire was more responsive in cornering. It reacts a little quicker. My bike rarely sees rain so no comment on the wet traction. Too soon to tell about tread life but I am very optimistic based on previous reviews and tire reputation. I was so impressed with this tire that I told one of my riding buddies about it. He had planned on getting an Avon Venom to match the rear tire he put on last year. The Avon is showing wear already so he was a little hesitant about the putting that brand on the front. He opted for the Metzeler for the front. The next week he took a 900 mile trip. He thought the tire performance was excellent as well. We are both planning on putting Metzeler tires on the rear when needed. I definitely recommend this tire.

Metzler ME 880 Marathon Touring tire
My original front tire only lasted a little over 5,000 miles. It was also a metzler, but it was a stock Lazertec street tire. Other than the mileage I was very happy with the ride, traction, etc. So, when it was time to replace it I went with Metzler again, but opted for the "high milage" Marathon 880. It has the same tread style as my rear tire and has been excellent as far as ride, traction, etc. I can't rate it yet for wet traction as I don't ride in rain unless I get "caught", nor can I rate it for milage yet as I have only had it about a month. But overall I am very pleased with Metzler and have every intention of keeping them on my bike (07 Triumph America).

K 1200 lt BMW
The Metzeler - ME 880 Marathon is the only tires for this bike! I have owned 4 K 1200 LT's in my time and BMW use to put these tires on from the factory. The 2009 I bought brand new had Bridgestones and I only got 5,000 out of the front tire all the other K 1200 LT's had Metzeler's and I got 8,000 miles out of the front tires.

Good for the heavy miles
I probably wouldn't recommend these tires for anyone who likes to ride in all weather conditions, at least not the rain or winter. However I'm amazed at how well they hold up. My dad has the same tires with about 10k miles on them and they still look brand new. My only qualm about them is that they don't have the best wet traction, but I can't be surprised either since they last so long because they're so hard. I'm definitely putting a pair of these on my other bike before my next road trip.

I've always liked Metzler. However, it is very strange to see 'Made in Brazil' on the tire.
So far, the tires have performed as expected (I have a ME880 on the rear also).
They are quiet and offer exceptional stability and handling for a bias touring tire.
For my type riding, tire wear is way above that of any other tire I have tried for 100% street use.

Great Handling Tire
I just had the Metzelers put on my Honda Shadow 1100 and really like the way they handle and feel on the road. No comparison to the original Dunlops. Cornering is smooth and the ride just seems more stable. Assuming I get decent life out of these tires, I'm a Metzeler fan for life!

As reading through all the rave reviews, I thought about adding my story. I gave it straight 5's across the board for the same reason everyone else did. However, this is my story. I do A LOT of riding, and I needed to get my bike inspected (I forgot and it expired). In looking at the old, rear ME880, it was clear there was not enough tread to pass inspection, so I took it into the shop to have a new rear put on & get her inspected. While paying for the tire & service, the mechanic asked me if that was my bike, I told him yes. He confirmed there was about 500-1000 miles left in tread, but it wouldn't pass inspection the way it was. The guy ringing me up looked in the history and saw that they put the old tire on, and verbally noted How Many Miles I actually put on that rear ME880. All three of us were stunned, and jaws opened when he said I got just over 18,500 miles out of it. They both stated they have never seen anything like that out of an ME880. Usually they replace them around 12-14k. Needless to say, the ME880 will ALWAYS be on my bike!! Cheers!

This is the second front on the old Harley and I'll be sticking with them. Tried Dunlop-poor wear and traction. Tried Avon, vipers- super soft and the rubber cracked within a couple of months, weird wear patterns on the front and the rear lasted 8k miles. Front Metzeler lasted 24k and the first rear lasted 15k, second rear has 9k and still has good tread and no weather cracks.

I installed the ME880 on the front and rear of my V Rod and there was a noticeable difference in handling right away. The Metzeler tires gave me more confidence with stability and traction. The handling in corners was much more stable. I have only put about 800 miles on the tires since purchased so the tread life is yet to be seen but overall I would recommend the tires.

ME 880 front tire (On a Honda VTX 1800)
The tire looks good and has tread in the center. I like that, as an open groove means NO rubber (less traction and faster wear)! I only have about 1800 miles on it so far, but hope to get better mileage than I got with the original Dunlop (5000 miles).

Great tire just wish it was V rated not H rated
I love the way this tire handles and corners. It does not follow grooves or grates. It seems to really improve my bikes handling. I would by this tire exclusevley if Mets would build it in a V or Z rating to match the back 260 Metz.
My bike will hit 150 and I would like a tire that matches the bikes rating. But as there are only about 3 tires in 130/70/18 and all are only H rated except the stock d221 wich I cannot stand as it cups within 3000 miles. This will be the tire for me.

I only have about 600 miles on my new Metzelers, but I can tell that the cornering is much improved over my last set of tires. I haven't ridden with them on wet pavement (yet), and I don't know about the tread life, but I have been told by others who have Metzelers that the tread life is very good to excellent. I got such a good buy on these tires from The Motorcycle Superstore. How can you go wrong? Shop around and you will see what I am talking about.

2005 Honda VTX 1800 with accessories equals 900 pounds. The original Dunlops were "jooky". They would follow a magic marker line down the road. The Metzeler gave me a great handling cycle. Can't report on the wear but the Dunlops only lasted 7,500 and I ride easy so would expect much better mileage from the Metzeler. When the tire is between you and the road buy the best. How much is your life worth?

I was riding on worn out OEM Dunlop’s and was experiencing unsettling wobbles while cornering at high speeds. I replaced them with a pair of ME880's and now feel more stable in the corners than the straight. Dry weather traction has never broken loose for me and wet weather traction seems good as well.

Worth the wait
Even though I've only had the tires for about a month and have only been able to ride 2 or 3 times since I had the put on, I would have to say they were worth the wait. I had thought about getting a little bit cheaper tire(Dunlop), but I'm glad I saved up a little more money and went with the Metzlers. Have not had to the chance to test them on a wet road yet, but from what others have said they are really good tires. I will definitely be buying these again.

This is the 2nd ME880 on my 02 Triumph Bonneville America. The tire is far superior to the OEM Bridgestone in every area. I was astounded that the tire lasted 20,000 miles. I also have an ME880 on the back which now has 15,000 miles and will be fine for another season of riding. The radial grooves are great on grooved pavement and the tire doesn't hunt like the OEM tire did. Dry and wet handling have been more than adequate on my cruiser bike. I don't think there is a better cruiser tire option on the market.

Have had good luck with Metzeler’s tires to date. The latest one was purchased to be installed once the current tire is finished. I rode to the Yukon last year and todate do not know the total mileage of a front tire. Rear tire offered approximately 16,000 with the same amount of "seal coat" surface Fort Nelson - Yukon and back. I am fully satisfied with the tires to date, although like most riders would appreciate a longer tread life.

Just replaced the tires on my motorcycle with two new Metzler ME 880 touring tires. I can already tell the difference in the way the bike handles. They have great cornering traction and stability and a very smooth ride. I had Dunlop’s on before and noticed that they were built much stiffer which resulted in a rougher ride. Even pushing the bike around the garage took a lot more effort. This is my first set of Metzeler’s and I have only had them on for two months but if they keep on performing as they are now, I will be very pleased. So far I can only say that I would rate Metzeler’s better than Dunlop.

I have a BMW K1200LT and I find the tire wears quite well other than some cupping at the end of its service life. It can be a little noisy with some miles on them when leaned over on the hwy. But with good handling, traction and very good tread life (14,000 mi)I'll keep using them.

I ride my bike exclusively in the early spring through late fall. I am going on my 3rd set of tires this season. First set I got close to 16,000 miles, second set already over 13,000 and still has reasonable tread. Last summer I spent 10 weeks on the road with the bike and had no trouble in any kind of weather I encountered. I had several sets of cheap tires when I first purchased my Shadow 600, but will never buy anything BUT Metzeler’s from now on. The stability they give me on the road is well worth the extra cost. I'm a true believer in the quality of these tires.

My wife and I have 4 motorcycles. We started with a Suzuki C50T Boulevard (mine) and a 750 Honda Aero (hers). I ride the Boulevard 150+ miles per day commuting to my office. After 10k miles, I just converted my Yamaha Road Star 1700 from Dunlops to Metzler 880 Marathons. *** I don't know how long they'll last & I really haven't ridden them in the rain yet***, but in the dry, they are pretty stable on the highway and they REALLY turn in much quicker than the stock Dunlops. It has transformed the handling of the big bike and it now corners much more like my Harley Sportster. I would recommend them (at least to anyone who lives in a generally dry area with a mix of twisty, hill roads and interstate highways).

This tire is great! Put this tire on a BMW 1200LT and can't believe the difference over the stock tire. No more road noise and chicken strips from day one! Put on matching rear tire and it's just as good. Haven't use the tire in the wet or have enough miles to rate the tread life so can't really tell on these category’s. Only problem with these tires is my lean angle is grinding off all kind of stuff and the wife keeps smacking my helmet. Highly recommend these tires.

The only complaint to date was the long delivery time...but I have had the tire on the bike for about a month now and have been in some serious rainy weather. Not an issue, the tire held true both in handling and stopping. Overall I am happy with the tire one month out...The tread life is just a little soon to talk about. I expect more than 12000 miles, hopefully that will be by the end of next riding season.

The only tire I will use on my Valkyrie are the Metzler ME 880's which are by far the best tire for the agressive riding that I do. It may be a cruiser, but I can corner through the twist’s with the best of them and then accelerate like mad as I am coming out of the corner never having to worry about the tire letting lose. I have the ground foot pegs to prove it. ;-)

Tire seems to handle much better than the OE Dunlop. I don't know about tire life yet as I just got it. I've only got 500 or so miles on it. The review form made me check something so I chose 3. I bought them because friends that use them say that that last longer than the OE tires. I'd sure recommend Motorcycle Superstore though. Tire came when they should. Customer service was very helpful about a question I had. The one thing that they could do is find and recommend dealers to mount them. Tirerack.com does this with car tire and it really helps. Bike shops are very reluctant to mount tires that are bought somewhere else.

Bought 100/90H-19 and 170/60VR-17 for a 2006 Dyna. I've ridden for 30yrs but by no means a pro but the difference was noticed the first curve. The Dyna doesn't come close to being a sport bike but with the 880s there's no more hesitation entering a high speed corner ex.60mph in a 25mph curve with ease. Would never have attempted that with the Dunlops. Only have a 1000mi. on tires got 10000mi w/Dunlop so we'll see! Did I mention they look cool!

This is my 3rd Metzler front tire on my '98 Valkyrie Tourer. Twice as many miles as the OEM Dunlop. Been caught in several T-storms and never had an issue with traction. (Rear tire is a car tire which helps too). Metzler is an excellent brand. No bike tire I have ever had has gotten the mileage a car tire does, but the Metzler has proven itself to me, so as the old saying goes, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Great tires for GL1800
Much better than stock tires that came mounted on bike. Much smoother transitions in turns. Very positive grip at all lean angles (I like the twisties, so I lean over a lot). Only rode in the rain once since purchase, but again great grip and cornering. Only put 2200 miles on this month. I would buy again.

Driving through extremely wet weather....Tropical Storm Fay
We drove thru Ga & Tn with extremely heavy rains from Tropical Storm Fay. The rain was relentless for two days of riding and the tires stuck like glue. At one point, a trailer passed me and a 4 foot wave went over me and the bike and the tires still tracked, I could actually feel the traction against the pavement. I have had these tires previously and love them. The tires last about 9-10k miles.

These were purchased for about $250, and seem to be a good deal considering their overall quality, grip, and ride. I can't give 5's because I do not push these tires near their limit and cannot assess their performance in that manner. I don't ride much in the rain so I cannot assess that quality either. Overall these have been very stable, safe tires for my Honda Shadow after 1000 miles or so. Good meaty tread as well. We shall see how long they last though.

I THINK THESE ARE BETTER
I bought this to replace the original Dunlop’s (404s) on my 06 Vulcan 900 Classic Lt. This Metzler does feel like it grips the road a little better than the Dunlop’s. It tracks well in the rain. I haven't felt a need to "pucker" since I got them put on, if that means anything to you. I got 14000+ out of the Dunlop’s so it's obvious that I don’t push the bike hard, and I guess maybe a "high performance" tire isn't really needed by me, but I will say it does give you a little more confidence when you need it and that's a plus on a bike. Only time will tell on the mileage, I’m sure I won’t hurt em. Good price AND performance, I do believe I will buy these again.

metzler me 880 front and rear tire
I bought the metzler last year for the rear of my Victory Jackpot. Loved it. So I ordered another for the front and one for the back. Improvement over the stock dunlop. But the rear tread didn't last very long. Only about 6800 miles. My riding style may have influenced that.

Best peformance upgrade for Sabre
Matched Marathon set for my 02 Sabre is the best performance upgrade I made - these tires STICK! I've put about 500-600 miles on them, and I can't believe how much better they are than Dunlops. Went with stock size front, and the larger 200mm rear - looks much better, and the handling can't be touched. Had to buy shorter pegs! It likes to corner so much now. Highly recommended.

Metzeler-ME 880 Marathon Touring Front Tire
I'm very pleased with Metzeler brand tires. This is my second set on my VTX and I have never experienced any trouble with these tires. They wear well and are extremely quite when it comes to road noise. I feel very secure leaning into to corners or in adverse road conditions. I will recommend this brand of tires to all my friends.

Put this tire on my 2000 Moto Guzzi Jackal...First thing I noticed was much better handling and smother ride...I have the same tire on the rear and in a recent heavy rain they both got me home safely. I’m hoping to get more mileage out of these than the OEM Lazertech's..

Great Tire, bought this one for my Honda VTX 1300 S - they are a lot better than the stock Dunlops. Better cornering, better stopping and a lot better at wet conditions. I heard they have not the some long tread life as stock will buy again!
