Tire is a replacement for the original Dunlop D401 on my Heritage Softail. Original lasted 9970 mi. so expect the same for this new tire. I live in NE Nevada so delivery from MCS in Oregon was extremely fast. Have rode on concrete and asphalt portions of I-80 during a rainstorm at speed and the tires handled very well.

I have bought a couple of these tires from the Motorcycle Superstore and have had no problems with them. Great Tire, I just wish they would wear longer but I understand that you have a trade off of long wear for a softer rubber and traction. I prefer the safety of traction in corning over longer wear and I assume most people would accept that trade off.

This is the oem reccomended part for Harley Davidson. This is a great all around tire for the Dyna model bikes. Could be a bit better on wet surfaces but, overall happy with the tire performance and wear and cost.

Great price for this tire. This is the exact tire that came with my 2003 Dyna Wide Glide. I have used nothing but this type. It seems to be the right combo for this bike. Too soft and feels flat after 3000 miles
The tire in question handles great for the first 3000 miles then every time you take a corner with it you have to watch your lean angle. The mileage from this tire sucks.

12,000 miles on the rear, so I don't consider that bad at all. You can't have this kind of traction and get more miles from the tire. I don't baby them either ride fairly

I average about 5000-6000 miles per rear tire and about 7000 miles from a front tire. I know there are better tires out there.

Don't know how to review this tire, since I just got it on the bike yesterday! Got to put a few miles on it before I can make an intelligent review. Haven't ridden in the wet yet! However, I've have had very good luck with Dunlop tires in the past, that's why I ordered this one. I do wish that MC Superstore carried a 21" D401 front tire! Would like to match my tires. The mileage these tires provide is incredible. Same with grip, rain or shine.
Only tire I'll put on my Sporty. If you have any "chicken strips" on your tires, you really haven't explored the amount of grip these Dunlops provide.

I ordered this tire for my 06 softail. The tire is soft and grips very well. I can only get around 5,000 miles from these tires [without smoking them], safely. Could probably get more, but 5 is enough.These tires are made in the U.S.A. That matters to me. The tire does well in rain. Now for service and price. I checked around for pricing, this is the best prices and no shipping cost. The service is great! The tires were delivered on the day I was told they would be. There is a freshness date [manufactured]date on the tires, learn how to read it . The tires I get from here are always fresh ones. I recommend the "motorcycle superstore" for your tires !!!

I got 8000 miles out of the original factory tire; told that was better than normal. Wet roads requires extra care when cornering after 4000 miles. Also, the tire may feel like its going flat and mushy when its properly inflated. Mine is on a Heritage Softail.

I have only put about 300 miles on this tire so far, but it is working out so far. Since I've had it, I have ridden in a few thunderstorms and some freak snow (once). Traction was pretty good for a skinny little 130/90/r16. The price was right as well. I'd buy this one again.

I don't know what the tread life should be for these tires, but 11k miles isn't much. My husband has the same brand on his bike and they last about as long, except it seems the front tire lasts a lot longer. There aren't many tires to choose from in this size so a person is stuck continuing to use this brand.

Had the Harley Mechanic fit the tire to the rim and have been to 3 Poker Runs So far on the tire. Good traction and it seems to be wearing well. Of course all Dunlop’s last about 1 season (10000 mi.).Everyone else wanted 150.00 to 190.00 for the same tire.

This tire is the exact stock tire replacement. I got 10,000 miles out of my last one and would expect the same from this. For most of my cycling this tire is fine except for tread life, I wish it would last longer. You get half the tire life used up per oil change. As the tire wears the cornering starts to go away because you have to push the bike past the ridge that forms as the tire wears in the center. Overall a very good tire for me and a whole lot better than some I’ve used.

I've run numerous tires over the years and end up coming back to the Dunlop 401 for the rear. Very predicable tire from new to wear out. There are tires that will corner better and those with better wet traction but if you’re looking for a good balance between tread life and performance for your HOG - this tire is hard to beat. I average about 9-10K miles with this tire.

It is a good tire for stabilty, cornering, traction, and wet conditions. As for the life of the tire being it is a drive tire should last more then a year.

I have a 2003 Sportster with the original Dunlops on. I have 14k of touring, and street riding and have had no issues. A few months age I found a small crack in the rear tire, so time to replace it. I had really good handling with this tire. A few times I got the rearend sliding, this tire outperformed getting me back upright. Upon talking with friends, it seems typical for 10k to 15k to be about the maximum for any cycle tire. A friend only got 8K from his Metzlers. I am sure riding style, road heat, etc. all have alot to do with the life of your rubber.
