Ballistic EVO2 Battery

Weight is important; where it is located on your bike and how much, can have a huge effect on more components than you’d care to think about. Keeping this in mind, Ballistic set out to create the lightest motorcycle and ATV battery possible and yet still retain and exceed the starting power that standard lead batteries put out. To accomplish this, each EVO2 uses the latest, state of the art lithium ferrous energy storage technology available to provide you with a smaller, higher energy, lightweight motorcycle battery. Made by hand in the USA using computer designed custom proprietary cells, cases, and hardware. The end result is that Ballistic Performance Component Batteries will provide more energy out of a smaller package while requiring almost no regular maintenance and under most conditions a longer service life than existing lead acid batteries.

**Note: Because The EVO2 is performance-first, the Ballistic EVO2 battery application guides are based strictly on battery power and functionality, not size or terminal location. Use the supply foam in the packaging to make up the difference between the size of the battery and the size of the OEM battery box.

Features:
  • Up to 80% smaller than the stock battery
  • Up to 10lbs Lighter than the stock battery
  • Service life of over twice a lead acid in similar conditions
  • Industry leading 3 year warranty
  • Designed, developed, and assembled in the USA
  • Hard mounted brass terminals for a direct replacement installation
  • Completely “dry” technology so batteries can be mounted in any direction
  • Non-toxic, and recyclable
  • Applications for powersports vehicles from 50cc - 2300cc
  • Tested extensively by professional race teams
  • Impact and water resistant
  • No special charger required
  • No trickle charger required, loses only 10% of charge over a year of static use

Lithium is clearly the choice for batteries it seems. Half the size, less than half the weight and doesn't lose it's charge when sitting idle. I recommend keeping the foam that the battery comes packed in. You'll need it cut & shim around the left over space in your battery box.

Wasted money. Does not live up to it's claims of cranking amps & reliability.

Sat in the shed all winter and still cranked it! Was hard to get battery terminal bolt tightened, but that was the battery compartment housing's fault. Had to cut a little piece out to get to it. Used the foam in the package to make the smaller battery snug. Doesn't run down like the stock battery.

My battery cranked the bike 1 time and that's it, one time for 350. Wow did I get hosed on this battery!!! Was told that this battery would do everything I needed it to do with a 16 cell, what a joke!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY and buy stocker replacement battery's... You can buy three at this price and have 6+ years of good life then this 16 cell ones.

If the battery drops below 9v then it won't fully recharge and if it drops below 6v then its considered DEAD. I got 2 rides out of it. 1st time cranking it over Voltage indicator dropped to 8.3v. Went for a 137 mile canyon ride. Came home, put it on a smart charger until it indicated that the battery was fully charged. Went to start the bike and Voltage indicator dropped to 5.5v. Now my bike won't start with this battery unless its on the charger. THE 8 CELL IS NOT FOR A HONDA VFR 800.

forgot ignition key on, LiFeP04 ballstic evo2 4 cell ruined

This type of battery is truly unforgiving. Accidental discharge below 8V means the LiFePO4 battery is toast. This battery really needs a low battery buzzer, or Low Voltage Disconnect Switch (LVD). Brands like Crydom, Waytek, SureStart, Victron are all closer to a $100 pricetag. The InPower VCM-06 and VCM-12 for $50. Expensive to protect the battery from turning into a brick.

Bought one a few years ago. Have never noticed any improved starting in any bike I've put it in (I own a few) over a standard AGM/Gel setup. To top it off, the battery crapped out on me recently. The negative battery post was making an intermittent connection INSIDE the battery case, and then finally nothing. The four pound savings can be duplicated with a good laxative the night before a ride.

This battery is truely one of my best investments. I have an 07 GSX-R600. I have low jack installed and was having an issue keeping a battery charged due to lowjack. Since installing this battery, it cranks the first go every time without skipping a beat. On top of that, the thing is only about 1.3 to 1.5 lbs. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has low jack. A static charge for over a year on top of a 3 year warranty....What more could you ask for. Go get one now.

Had the 8 cell for 6 months now in my KTM 690 Enduro. 100+ miles into a dirt ride, the battery left me stranded and had to get rescued by a buddy. After much electrical diagnosing, we found that the internal connections in the battery were causing the fuel injection system to shut down. you could tap the battery to replicate the problem. Shaking the battery you could hear stuff moving around. Maybe these do not belong on dirt bikes?
