Norm Rezmer Hampshire,  IL Disappointed in durability / fit for a nice looking bag I bought these for a '98 Honda Spirit 1100 w/ stock exhaust, backrest, rack and turn signals. Being a compact slant, it sounded like they would fit based on other reviews, but after shortening the yoke a couple of inches, re-punching the holes and moving the turn signals back, I still haven't been able to get them to fit under the pass seat like they should. The yoke is too wide where it zips to the bag and won't fit around/over the rack frame at the backrest. As a result, with the shortened yoke to keep them off the exhaust, one zipper separated while zipped. The front edge on the exhaust side contacted the muffler a couple of times due to the material stretching/deforming as there used to be 1" of clearance. The other side, which always has a couple of inches of clearance somehow rubbed on the shaft drive vent cover and cracked out the bottom of the bag leaving a hole nearly the size of a couple of fingers. Even when I noticed the hole, the bag was still a couple of inches above the cover, so the material must stretch a lot when warm. I liked the zipper for removal, although the strap to secure to the saddlebag bracket was time consuming. The quick release buckles and handles were convenient, and with the braided edges, I thought the bags looked good. Not a bad bag if you can get it to fit your bike.

JDillard Wilmington,  DE Great bags! These are on the smallish side which rocks. I bought them for a 1983 Honda Shadow 750 and I am still amazed at how great they look every time I walk up to the bike. Great construction and the hidden latch works great while keeping the classic look. I am definitely happy with this purchase. I settled on these after reading another review where they were also putting them on an older bike. Thanks.

Ross Manteo,  NC Functional Simplicity These bags are a fantastic bargain. Keep in mind that no soft bag is truly waterproof as some reviewers have complained. If you need a simple bag to hold stuff on the road, this is it. It's a bit small, though so if you're looking to carry a tent and sleeping bag or something of the sort look for something quite a bit bigger. I got these for a 2007 Honda VTX 1300R and they fit great right out of the box. I tightened the laces one hole and they're a perfect fit now. I would highly recommend these bags. Beware, if you don't have a support bar for your bags already, get one soon or remember to tie down the front of the bags to something, otherwise they make one heck of a wing at about 45 MPH+.

Dave Millet,  AB Great bags for the price I have had the River Road compact slant saddle bags for about a month now and am very pleased with them overall. I had to modify them to fit my 1997 Virago 1100, but once on they look great. They are quite small although work well for my evening and weekend rides. I like how well the top flap seals over the sides with the velcro and the quick release snaps.

John charlotte,  NC Great purchase It took a lot of research to find the right size / type of bag for my bike - and these worked very well. They were intended to be a temporary solution for a cross country trip - however, they're so nice - I never took em off.

Daniel T. Shell Cincinnati,  OH Medium Slant Saddlebags I found these bags to be great for the older 1982 Yamaha XJ550. I have I tried several bags but these fit the best.

Daniel Shell Cincinnati,  OH Saddlebags I have had a very hard time finding a set of saddlebags for the 1982 Yamaha XJ550 I found setting in a guy's garage since 1985. It has only 1500 miles on it and runs like a top. I found these bags on the net and tried them out and out of a lot of bags I tried these are the only ones that work on the older motorcycles like I have.
