Cardo Systems - Scala Rider Bluetooth Helmet Headset
The Scala Rider has done what I needed it to do - make/receive cell phone calls. When I make a call, no one knows I'm on the bike. Whether it is my fellow rider with a scala, or someone at home, they can easily get in touch with me. Receiving calls does not require me to move my hands as it is all done by voice. One push of a button on the scala and I'm making calls.

THIS HAS TO BE THE EASIEST HOOK UP TO A CELL PHONE GOING. FROM THE BOX TO OPERATING FROM THE HELMET TAKES ABOUT 10 MINUTES. RECEPTION AND TRANSMISSION ARE EXCELLENT UP TO ABOUT 75 MPH ,WITH MY FULL FACE NOLAN HELMET. NOW TO GET A BLUE TOOTH GPS.

Cardo Scala Solo Rider Bluetooth Motorcycle Helmet Headset
I live in Stony Mountain, MB and I received my headset approx 4 days after I ordered it, so it came a lot sooner than I expected. Thanks MS! Now for the bad news. I was going on a 6000km round trip and also purchased the Garmin ZUMO 660 GPS system from gpscity.ca a company based out of Calgary. The headset will pair with my Motorola Krazer mobile phone and so will the Zumo but the headset will not pair with the GPS. I phoned Cardo Scala about the problem and they told me that they had other complaints from customers with the same issue. I contacted Garmin and it depended on who I spoke to. One person knew there were problems with the new 660 (by the way the Cardo Scala WILL pair with the Zumo 550) where another rep said this is the first they had heard about it. I contacted other Bluetooth headset/helmet companies and they said the same thing as Cardo Scala. Their headset/helmet would pair with the 550 but not the 660. So basically I had to read the screen on the GPS but could not hear what any of the instructions were for the whole trip. The Cardo Scala solo headset was very easy to install although I think they could have made the arm on the mic a bit longer. Easy to read instructions, too bad I didn't get to use it. I am still waiting for a Garmin update regarding this problem so I hope that it gets fixed soon.

One less reason to pull off the road.
The Scala Rider Bluetooth Headset works well with my full face and 3/4 helmet. I have had the opportunity to use it and it functioned quite well. When I purchase a new GPS, it will be a bluetooth so I can link it to the headset and finally hear the driving directions. A quality product. I would recommend it.

Excellent quality
The unit actually performs better than I expected. Very clean conversations up to 60mph with a full face helmet.

Good, but not perfect
After using this for several hundred miles now, I find the sound quality terrible for music (not it's intended use), but it works great for navigation prompts and phone calls. Callers say they can't tell I'm on the bike, it sounds like I'm just outdoors. On the downside, the volume control resets itself every time you turn it off, and setting it higher it nearly impossible with gloves. Mine also seems to disconnect randomly and won't reconnect without restarting my Zumo...frustrating.

Headset works very well, once I got use to the controls. Great product.

This is a great device. I ride for my job and with a 3/4 helmet and my windshield all the way up (on R1150RT BMW) I can have a normal conversation at 85mph. I did get the two speaker clamp as an upgrade for my basic model and it works just fine with the unit and made the conversation more clear for me. My only complaint is that my helmet got tossed around on a parking lot ground by helicopter rotor wash and that broke my single speaker clamp (reason for upgrade). So as long as you don't subject the device to any hard hits I would recommend this unit to everyone.

Cardo Systems - Scala Rider Bluetooth Helmet Headset
I have tested / tried 3 to 4 different headsets. This one is the best by far. The only issue that I have with the unit is that the person on the other end doesn't hear me very well. They have stated that my voice doesn't have much volume.

Great for what I was looking for. It took me a couple days to realize I needed to change my phone from vibrate to max volume so I could hear the caller better. Quality is good up to about 65mph for my full face helmet.

The only problem we had with our cardo's was the back came off of the earpiece exposing the wiring. It was an easy fix. Overall the device is a great communication tool at speeds under 50mph. Over 50mph there's quite a bit of static - but who really wants to talk when you're riding fast anyway? We love it!

like a dream
I got this when it was basically the only bluetooth solution for motorcycle helmets. It takes a couple tries to get the ear speaker in the right place, but once it's set up correctly it works great. People act surprised that I'm calling them from the bike. At 85mph there's virtually no noise on the other end.

I'm using this with a Garmin ZUM0 550. Easy bluetooth connection and install. Not really satisfied with hearing capability of the caller or person I call. They say my voice is really faint, even at low speeds.

Scala-Rider Bluetooth Headset
The Good: (1) Well-made rubbery weather-resistant construction. (2) Links-up easily with cell phone and is immediately usable. (3) Charging unit is very small and portable. The Less-Good: (1) The primary button needs better tactile feedback with gloves on. (2) The ear-speaker either (a) needs a way to affix to the ear or (b) should be unplugable, with an ear-bud option. (3) Due to the padding in my helmet, I had to affix unit with Velcro glue-strips instead of the supplied clamp; the unit’s desi

Considering the options, these headsets are the best way to go. My boyfriend & I each got 1 of these headsets before going out to Bike Week in Dayton Beach, FL this year. He is an experienced rider & I am a beginner. While at first I thought the Scala Rider Team set seemed the best choice for us to intercom/communicate with each other only one of those headsets would be able to be used with the cell phone & make/receive incoming/outgoing phone calls. These at least can call each other via th

I was very pleased with the bluetooth headset. The one I ordered had the set up for non-bluetooth phones. It works great for incoming calls. I have had some difficulty on voice activated outgoing calls but I believe that it is a function of the phone's limitations. All calls have been very clear and the people on the other end seem to have no problem hearing me. I am using it with a full face helmet and it works as advertised.
