Chatterbox XBI
1st Motorcycle Superstore delivered it fast, no hassles and at a great price. The unit itself went on easy (HJC CL max) and the installation instructions were straightforward. Pairing took some time and yes I read the instructions carefully! Once paired the sound is great! I use a palm TX with Audio gate and music sounds fantastic even at 85. Telephone is hit and miss for sound quality and it doesn't always give a tone in the helmet. My centro is set for ring and vibrate or I would have missed several calls. I have to turn the volume down for music so that may be the problem hearing the phone as well as I should.
Overall I am very happy with the unit and the service. I researched and agonized over making the right choice and the reviews on MCSS were my best guide. I made an excellent choice.

Intercom sound is very good. Second Bluetooth adapter, such as GPS, does not function well. There is no priority system. The rider must select to listen to the intercom or the GPS. There is nothing to interrupt the intercom when the GPS has a voice instruction. Similarly, if you are listening to the GPS, the passenger must manually switch the intercom to active in order to talk. If switched to intercom immediately before a GPS message, the rider will miss the GPS message. According to the tech support at Chatterbox, all of their Bluetooth intercoms work the same way.

Excellent product. I bought this for my wife and I as an intercom. But you can stream music and pair to your phones. All works as advertised. My only complaint is the skimpy instruction book for installation. I found a couple of videos on You Tube that really helped with installation. I had clips that I didn't know what to do with until I watched the video's. Also I have a flip up full face helmet and mistakenly bought the full face version. With a flip up you should but the open face set up. Other than that the voice quality is excellent, even at highway speeds. Pairing is fast and accurate, It just plain works as advertised. If I didn't know better I would swear it was made by Mac, because of its simplicity and the fact that it works!

Pretty Good
Hubby and I got these for a long ride from Raleigh to Charleston. We're both pretty tech savvy and it took us a while to get everything working properly - definitely use the You Tube how-to videos because the "book" that comes with it is not very helpful. We generally like the units but it does take some time to get the proper order of button pushing down when you want to go between intercom to iphone to music and back to talk. Just takes practice. The mics are big, no way around it. It bothered hubby more than me but you get used to it. You will feel it on your face. But overall we're glad we bought these and appreciate having them on long trips.

ChatterBox XBi Bluetooth
So simple even a caveman can do it. Followed the instructions and works very well. After the first few charges it now lasts 6 hours or so on a charge. Does not provide enough power with speakers to totally overcome wind noise ('09 XB12XT) but I'm using it with 'earfuze' custom fit buds, and it's able to go very loud this way. Besides who wants to talk on the phone at 80?

XBi works well but it's confusing
I bought these to mainly listen to music off of my cell phone and take calls. It does both of those very well. The thing I don't like is the bonus features, intercom, linking the music thru one XBi to another works but switching back and forth between music and talking isn't good enough to safely do it while riding around any cars. The mic is too big, and they have a new version 2.0 that has a range of 500 meters for bike to bike, which is really what I wanted but I was unaware and I think it might have hit the market the week after I bought these. If you’re ok with all of this the sound is good and the phone function works well for answering calls.

Chatter Box With Blue Tooth
Well it is a life saver when you use a GPS. I have the ZUMO 550 and on the bike it has no sound unless hooked up to a device that is Blue Tooth compatible. I get lost all the time and with the GPS and no speakers it is dangerous to constantly look at the GPS and then you still get lost. With the Chatter Box it is a dream. The Installation was easy and the pairing to the GPS was almost automatic. A 5 year old could do it. The one problem is that the Velcro to attach the mic to the Helmet was not adequate, and it is large. I do not need the mouth piece because I really do not think I should be talking on the phone when I am carving my way thru the mountains or Highway etc. So I had to buy a piece of Velcro from an auto parts store and problem is solved. I might join my phone to it in the future for when I am pulled over. Overall safety is number one so if you want decrease your chances of making a foolish mistake by gluing your eyes to your GPS and kissing an unexpected object, then get the chatter box it may save your life.

good intercom, won't pair with Treo
The XBi appears well made and is fairly easy to install. Note it works only with Bluetooth 2.0 devices so I was not able to couple it with my Smartphone. The intercom is why I bought the unit and this feature works great. The written instructions are not the most complete.

Easy Install. Price is right. Really have a problem with gloves while turning on intercom...even with bare fingers. Have to use it more...do not wear our full face/modular all the time, only on long trips. Overall good value. Having a time with bluetooth/phone.

Chatterbox SBi bluetooth Wireless Intercom
Hey, I kid you not; this product delivers exactly what the manufacturer says. I love it. It holds a really long charge, several hours or all day on motorcycle with clear audio between rider and passenger. I used the Icombi Bluetooth adapter with it and I connect it to my MP3 player while riding. We both hear it the same. Once we figured out the button press sequence, that is. In other words, after using the rider to passenger intercom mode, to switch back to music where both rider and passenger can hear it the same, we learned we had to press the mode button, vice the intercom button. Pressing the intercom button only turns off the intercom and allows the rider to hear the music only. Pressing the mode button allows both rider and passenger to hear the music high. The whole set up, two Xbi's and one icombi adapter ran me about $400 give or take. However, it has already proven itself worth the investment as it has facilitated great communicability between us while riding, without a single connecting wire. This setup would probably work between two riders also as long as they were fairly close to one another (20 feet). As a rider to passenger set, it's priceless and it delivers.

Good stuff
Had this about a month. I bought two (one for the wife and one for me) and it seems to work very well. Installing it on the helmets was easy and the directions were pretty clear. I think someone said the directions that came with this unit were horrible. Perhaps they didn't read the English version. I did, and everything worked according to plan. The only issue I had was my wife's Mp3 player would occasionally cut out, and then back in for no reason. I don't know if it was an Mp3 player problem, or a headset problem. Honestly, I don't much care for her music so it wasn't a real loss for me. The intercom works great with no background or wind noise. The phone feature also works great, though I wish it did voice commands. Oh well, I shouldn't be dialing and driving anyway. Fit and finish are top-notch, and the mounting system works well. I've got a KBC Envy helmet for my wife and a NOlan N-102 for me. The system mounted to both helmets within 5 minutes and no modifications (or cursing for that matter) were necessary. For the money, it's a good product if you're looking for a simple intercom and bluetooth system and don't want lots of wires. Clean design, quality product = Happy customer.

Great for playing my iPod and also being able to link up my phone at the same time. The mic is a bit big and rubs right up against my mouth, but think that's really the only downside. This is my 3rd order from this website, and I'm very impressed with their service and quickness of delivery. I will definitely order from them again. OVERALL GREAT PRODUCT!

Great unit!
Battery life could be a little better but overall a great unit. Volume is good even with custom earplugs. Works with my Zumo 550 and Sony Stereo dongle. Highly recommended!

Great for any purpose with one exception
If you have a rider on YOUR bike and you want to communicate, buy this chatter box! It may be obvious to some but the communication is threw bluetooth, so there is a very short range when communicating helmet to helmet. A friend and I took two bikes out and the units couldn't find each other until we were right next to one another. The smart solution is to link each unit to your phone and then your talking phone to phone threw the helmet. It's easy to hear someone on the phone at upwards of 55 to 60mph. Music threw a bluetooth adapter for my Ipod was easy to hear near 70mph on a calm wind day.

Very Cool!
I have been looking for a solution to my music problem while riding my motorcycle for a long time. I've tried it all - Until this came out, I had given up. This thing is GREAT. Mounts to the helmet perfectly. Easy to use - battery life is LONG. Not to mention, it's LOUD. I highly recommend this!!

XBi is just OK.......
I was excited to finally find a communicator that I did not have to wire into my bike so this was a great find. The volume was sufficiently loud and the ability to make and receive calls was impressive. I liked the two options for mounting and I didn't even notice it was on my helmet. That being said, the microphone that comes with the full face option is HUGE! It's larger than my friends who has an older wired model and is constantly bumping my chin or coming off when I don my helmet. I've removed the sponge cover and attached the velcro directly to the back of the microphone. That's helped but it's still a large microphone for such a small product.

This unit works great for me, GPS directions, music, communications with passenger and phone all in one easy to use unit. Only problem is with the size of the microphone (needs to be smaller). Would recommend to all.

Cool Device
My only wish is that the quality of the sound is improved, but I am so pleased that I no longer need to pre-set my music selection. Ipod is now mounted on the tank.

Nice unit.
This is a nice system, better in several ways than the Camos BHS-600 that I have - the connector is smaller, the volume is better, and the size is smaller. The Camos, however, has better battery life, has VOX intercom, and has a less bulky/intrusive microphone. The XBi is excellent for music and good for cell phone communication (although I never call out, and only rarely accept calls while riding), but the manual is incorrect in its' instructions. I found that in order to have the phone and my iPOD paired, I needed to first pair my iPOD, then the phone by pushing the power button and holding it for 5-6 seconds until I heard the second set of beeps. The manual stated to first pair the phone and then the music device - I could never get that to work. Oh well. The unit has good volume (I am undecided on whether or not I like that the unit powers on with the volume in the middle always), and the sound is quite good.

XBi
The XBi has excellent sound quality. I've only used it a small amount so far but I'm happy with it. The instruction manual was horrible. My understanding is that it had some Korean translation added to it. I had to call several times to have help pairing the 2 units. I have an open and closed face helmets fitted for the units. The mike on my open face tends to move upward a little that is distracting in my left lateral field of view. I'm sure that I can get used to that. As the rider I can hear the wind rustling on the passengers mike which is very suttle. My understanding is that the XBi does not have a VOX sensitivity button. I would like to know if there is some way of decreasing the sensitivity. If it is adjustable I was not able to find the information in the manual. Overall, I like it very much. It will give it a good test run the first week of November when we take a trip from So. Cal. to the Cal/Oregon border.

Installation Problem
Everything works fine except the microphone (for full face helmets) is about three times larger than the older model. (Shoei RF1000).

ChatterBox XBI Bluetooth
The problem I am experiencing with the XBi is setting up two separate units to use at the same time. I can get my iPod to work then try to link up my phone, but the phone will not link. If I link the phone the iPod doesn't work so more experimenting is needed. Sound quality is good and it picks up the blue tooth in my top box. People I talk to on the phone can hear me plain and clear with no wind noise. I use a modular type helmet if this helps. Charges quickly and is easy to install on your helmet.
