The right size, fits the need.

I needed a small battery charger/tender to keep the battery on my V-Star 1100 Classic charged through the long Michigan winter. I have had it for just over a month and all systems are go. This little gadget is absolutely perfect for the task of keeping your motorcycle battery hot no matter the ambient temp! Even here in the South, our winters are battery killers. Can't count the times I have been faced with that awful sound of a dead bike when standing out in the cold. Never again! The Battery Tender plug is permanently mounted out of sight on my scoot, and I plug it up whenever I think about it or definitely when extreme temps are coming. My battery is always red hot. It's just as simple as that! And the price is less than I would pay for a decent dinner!! I'm going to gift one to my riding buddy as soon as I can. I don't know why some enterprising bike manufacturer doesn't install these as standard equipment!!

Excellent Charger

This device works as advertised, which is to say flawlessly - I have used it on my bike and my wife's scooter. It is small and unobtrusive, it is safe (will not allow you to reverse polarity and damage the battery), and it has 2 ways of attaching: clips and car-trailer keyed connector. I don't know how long it would take to charge a drained battery, but it takes minutes to replenish after use. I highly recommend this charger.

Good for infrequently used vespa

I have a Vespa that I use about 4 times a year. When unused, I keep it under a cover outdoors. Next to the scooter, I have an electrical outlet with one of those oversized cover to keep the water out. This adapter fits inside the cover perfectly so I leave it there all the time, ready for use.

It has a permanent cable that you can put on your battery terminals that has a cap to cover the plug when you're not charging. Battery Tender Junior is a great product at a lower price than other battery trickle chargers. It's bulletproof and idiot-proof. Just plug it in and forget it. Best Thing for The Price

It's cheap & it does what it's supposed to do. It took 36hrs to completely charge my dead 12V bike battery. Battery is as good as new. Now I leave my battery in the bike and charge it, using the remote line. It's great.

I have always used a traditional battery charger. You don't know when it is done charging. This charger is amazing. It automatically shuts off when battery has reached max voltage. Battery Tender Jr: simple as pie and works like a charm

The accessory cable on my Kawasaki Concours 14 feeds straight off the battery so I simply plugged the end of the Tender cable into it, plug the adapter unit into the wall outlet in my garage and was good to go. Didn't even having to bother with the clamp or eyelet cable ends that are included. Has been maintaining a charge on my bike for nearly four weeks now without missing a beat.

A useful tool

Functions perfectly and is very sophisticated for such a low priced charger. I installed the pigtails which were included. When we bought my girlfriends 97 CBR600F3 the P.O had it fitted for the battery tender & all we needed to make it work, was the charging unit. I found it on sale from mc-superstore for $20 & it instantly became a stocking stuffer this past x-mas. For the winter time this comes is really nice. Great Little Charger - Saves Batteries

Battery Tender trickle chargers are a must to prevent deep discharge during winter months and I'm told they even prolong battery life. I lost a new $100 battery a couple years ago when it sat through the winter without a trickle charger and went into deep discharge - would not take a charge any longer. Now Battery Tenders are on all my dirt bikes, and even my lawnmower. Just wire the included quick-connect cord to the battery and tie-wrap it somewhere there is easy access to connect the charger.

This is an excellent piece of equipment. It worked perfectly and was very easy to use. You have to love the indicator light which tells you how much of a charge your battery has. The indicator light is only in a range <70% shows red, 80%-90% it flashes then goes green at 100%. This is not the most ideal and accurate measurement, but most people will find it useful. I had this product for a month and the battery is fresh and ready to go.

Have 2, one hooked up to a 2007 GSXR 600, and the other hooked up to a 2006 CRF250x. Never had a problem starting either bikes. Only had the chargers for 2 months, but so far they seem to be working GREAT! Leave it plugged in to the wall, and hook up the charger at night when i get home. CRF gets left on the charger for a month at a time (ish). Never had a problem getting it started with the button. Would definitely recommend.

My battery ran down and I couldn't start my bike! I connected it to the battery tender with the supplied alligator clips and charged it in place. Within a few hours the idiot-proof charge indicator light went from red to green and the bike started right up. I've only used it once so I can't speak for the durability, but it seems like it was built well enough. In addition to said alligator clamps, the tender also came with screw on connectors in case you want to charge directly to the battery electrodes. All connectors came with nice covers to keep them clean and safe. Also, all covers were directly connected to the cables so you don't lose them. Smart thinking.

effective little unit

I've got a couple of bikes that needed to be tickled during the off months. This little unit has a long enough cord and simple attachments for the battery, either screw on a semi-permanent pig tail or just use the small motorcycle battery sized jumper cables. According to the directions the battery only gets a .75 charge so it takes a little while to reach a fully charged state, but better than risking an over charge. I will for sure get one more of these units.

This is the second BT Jr. I have bought, this one for a riding buddy. They SHOULD be included with EVERY motorcycle sold, and any salesman not recommending them is doing his customers a disservice. The BT will quadruple your battery life, AND you will always have a hot start in cold weather. Indestructible, and easy to permanently install on your bike, snowmobile, etc. The cost/benefit ratio is probably 100:1, if you figure in the "no aggravation factor" of having a bike that will ALWAYS start! No negatives from me on this fine product. Get one!!!

CAN'T go wrong

Plug and play. I should have bought this years ago. I ride heavily (46,000 miles on my '07 CBR600RR) and barely keep the bike stored for more than 60 days at any time. HOWEVER, my battery was losing charge earlier in the season in which I had to take it out and fully charge it at my work. No problems since, but had I been using a "tender" I never would have encountered an issue. I routed the plug-in wire from the battery up through my tail section, since it's thin enough, and now it's sitting in the garage plugged in WHILE covered. Very convenient size, doesn't get in the way, keeps the battery fresh and charged, easy to hide when not in use and easy to use when needed. MUST HAVE for battery longevity.

The Jr. version worked perfectly for me. It does exactly what I needed it to do and it comes with a ring terminal/SAE harness and an alligator clip/SAE harness. I installed the ring terminal harness to the bike battery and spliced the other SAE connector to a 12v cigarette adapter (female end), which I mounted to the handle bars. Now I can run my GPS. No complaints here. It works as advertised. Easy to install on my the pigtail on the battery in my 2009 Ducati Monster (depending on how hard it is to get to your battery...different issue). Connection is solid and dummy-proof between the charger and pigtail (i.e. there's only 1 way to plug it in so you can't mess up your battery). The indicator light on the charger is helpful to know how charged the battery is. For the price there's really no reason not to have one of these.

I did not need any fancy features and for that reason I bought the Junior. It comes with clamps for standard batteries and a nice set of wires for permanent installation on my motorcycle. Great value for the price, does the job well

This is the value you were looking for if your battery runs down easily during cold weather, or if you wanted a way to maintain the battery on your motorbike (or scooter) without having to depend on others, or dragging out that full-sized charger. You can attach the terminal-end wire set to your bike as I have and either take the AC adapter with you or leave it behind. This kit also includes a generous length of alligator-clamp style leads that you may use on another battery if so needed, or you might choose to use the battery tender with same leads for your own battery. It has worked great for me: I leave the bike overnight to charge/maintain. Next day, I'm off to work, disconnect the cable and leave the adapter at home, ready for the time I get back, and simply reconnect the cable for the next ride. The led indicator light shows clearly what the status of your battery charge is at any given time. This affordable kit is worth just saving the time it normally takes to locate, disconnect large leads, unplug and put away a full sized charger. On a scooter, where there is even less space (and sometimes no kickstarter!) well worth the peace of mind.

I live in New England, and we have seasons here. My toys (a convertible and a motorcycle) get put away for 5 months a year. This is my second Tender Jr. They work well and I like the fact that it doesn't go into sulphation mode once the battery is fully charged. My other charger goes into sulphation mode and I believe that when left on for extended periods, it's cause a couple of my 35AH & smaller batteries to fail before they should have. At about 4 yrs the cases split on my first Tender Jr . I put a tystrap around the case and its basically good as new.

Good Product at a Great Price

I would rather have a wire with a plug for them, as on the larger model, than have the main unit plug directly into an outlet, which makes it impossible to use for other things. I've had other Battery Tenders in the past and they worked well unless power source was compromised. In two cases after a power shortage, the units went belly up, so if you can interface with some sort of circuit breaker, you'll be doing yourself a favor.

My bike came from the dealer with the adapter plug so it was a breeze to plug in the Battery Tender Jr. The light stayed red every time I plugged it in though - even though the battery seemed to be fine. A couple weeks ago, I changed the bike's oil, cleaned it, plugged in the Battery Tender and covered it for the winter. I noticed that after almost a week of being plugged in, the light on the Battery Tender is finally green, indicating the battery is at full charge and just being maintained. I'm surprised it took so long, but will assume everything's okay now.

The Battery Tender Junior Charger lacks some of the features and build quality of the higher end trickle chargers like the Battery Tender Plus or the BatteryMinder. Battery Tender Jr.

I have several of both Battery Tender Plus and Battery tender Jr. I have come to prefer the Jr. because the charger mounts on the power outlet with a long cord instead of having to sit on the floor between the outlet and the bike taking up space and becoming a trip hazard. I have also found the Jr. to be more reliable than the Plus (I have had two failures of the Plus). The Jr. also costs a lot less!

Incredible Price - Great product

I own five motorcycles and previously owned two Battery Tender Jr. units that I swapped around between bikes. This did a good job of keeping my batteries charged but required constant swapping. These came up for sale at $19.99 each and I bought three more. I now have a power strip mounted to the wall with all five Battery Tender Jr. units charging all my bikes. Now it takes just a glance to verify if all lights are green so I know my batteries are in good shape. This peace of mind is worth the price of the units.

Battery Tender.... does what it says.

This thing tends to the battery just fine. Good points: Float charge won't overcharge/pop a battery if you walk off and forget about it for a few months. Pigtail for permanent attachment to battery makes it less hassle for hard to access batteries. Cover for pigtail keeps water out, won't short if it gets rained on. Pigtail connector design means you can use one battery tender for multiple bikes, just by getting more pigtails, and rotating the charger every week or three. Bad points; Can't tell how much longer it will take to finish charging. This is only a problem if you stumble across that rare nice day in the middle of winter, and haven't plugged the thing in for a while, or your battery is flat. if you forget to put the cover on the pigtail (the part that stays on the battery) in the rain, it can short and kill your battery.

Hey! What can you say? It's easy to install the short cable directly to the battery of a motorcycle. I will advise anyone who intends on installing the two poll connector cable to their battery to go to the autoparts store and buy a couple of new - longer - bolts to secure the cable to your battery. Once the cable is hooked up ... plug the Battery Tender Junior in to the battery cable THEN into the A/C power... PLEASE READ the label instructions ... It's a safety thing! The Battery Tender does have an Automatic cycle to keep your battery charged and ready to go when you are.
