Fieldsheer Women's Adventure Short pants
These pants are nice. They are lightweight and feel well-made. I got them on sale for $99 which makes them a great value. The only negatives are that the rain liner makes them pretty hot (but what can you do?)and I could stand for them to be even shorter. I'm only 5'1". I'm glad I bought them. I just wear shorts under them.

Very good fit for shorter women
I am 5'1" and these pants fit me very well. I have a low waist to begin with so I really like these pants. All of the safety features fit perfectly (knee and hip pads).

Perfect for Short Women
I just received these pants and the fit is perfect. However, the pants do run a little small. I measured and consulted the size chart here and the Fieldsheer website and ordered a size bigger than I thought I would need and they just fit. If you are not short waisted then these pants will not fit right. I’m 5ft and the length is just a little long which is much better than the regular length pants. Overall these are great pants.

Great Pants, Bad Fit
These pants are awesome, obviously well made and full of features. Unfortunately they fit funny and getting a different size wasn't going to help. With regret I returned them. The inseam was short, as I expected, but I was surprised at the extremely short rise. The “waist” hit me at the hips. They were huge everywhere except the waist which was too tight because it hit too low. If you are low waisted, or like to sag your pants, these are great pants.

Jury still out.
The biggest issue, of which I was forewarned by the other reviewers: at 5'2” (29” inseam) the knee armor hangs well below my knees. They are ok while riding, because they ride up some when sitting, like any other pants. But if I fall, which is what the armor is for, I'm gonna be sliding across the pavement, so they'll be too low. I haven't decided whether to keep them. Depends on whether they're truly waterproof. The pants make an amazingly loud swooshing sound with each step, which makes me self conscious when I wear them to go somewhere (errands, a movie, etc). They are pretty bulky. They are almost too stiff and bulky to wear with jeans underneath, even without the lining. So I'm figuring I'll just wear leggings underneath if I'm going somewhere. Maybe they'll soften up with wear, which may take awhile here in the Southeast, since it's just not that cold usually.

Fieldsheer Women's Adventure Short Pant
These pants are the absolute best for shorter women riders. The length is bang-on, the lining is toasty warm, and the fit is roomy enough to let you wear jeans underneath. Bonus--they are truly 100% waterproof AND 100% comfortable, a huge win for rainy climates. These are definitely not cut like your husband's riding pants!
