leather jackets, legend
It was time to retire this old leather jacket. My new jacket arrived on time, as promised. It was everything it advertised. The quality of this jacket so far seems to be the same high-quality that my first jacket was. I see having this for 25 years. Recommended by me.

First Gear Scout IV
I've had my jacket about 2 months now. I had borrowed a cousins First Gear denier jacket and loved it. This full leather is so much better its almost unbelievable. The zippers may outlast the leather. Every pocket has been well thought out. I live in the Pacific Northwest and have several rides to try the jacket out in cool, wet weather. There doesn't seem to be any air leaks anywhere and I have stayed perfectly dry. With the liner in, I might be able to rid e in below freezing temps. If I ever wear this one out, I'll just buy another one.

Firstgear Scout IV Leather Jacket
I'm a big boy (6'6" 300lbs) so I went for the 4XL tall, but even at that, I could only do it up on the first zip with the liner zipped out. As I've worn it for the last two weeks, it has become less snug, and I think I could do it on the second zip, and it would be as snug as it was at first. Outside of the sizing issue, the jacket is superb in every way. The build quality is excellent, the cargo system is very useful, and on the occasions I have used it, the venting system has been very effective. All-in-all, I would highly recommend this jacket, even if you can't get it for the ridiculous clearance price, but get a size up from usual at least.

Very nice jacket
I rate the 4 on fit only because the sizing requires some adjustment. I only ordered a 2XL size as suggested, but I had to go to a 3XL for the correct fit. I wear a 1XL in every other item. Luckily the customer service folks are easy to work with on returns. Wore the jacket w/o liner yesterday morning for a ride that started at 40 degrees. Just right. Later that day with some vents open, still just right. Plenty of pockets for all the junk, and no rubbing from the collar. The jacket looks great and feels great on. Great buy. Take the extra time as you need to buy the back pad separate.

Scout jacket
I just received the jacket and went on a 40 mile ride in 40 degree weather in Alabama. The jacket was great. I usually wear an XL but ordered a 2x in this jacket and it fit just perfect. This is a good quality jacket with plenty of storage. The sleeves are a bit long (I'm 5'70) but it works out fine because my gloves cover the sleeves. Highly recommended.

What a jacket!
You know I’m a middle aged man who really hasn’t worn leather since the '70s. All I can say is "Unbelievable"! The art of the leather Jacket has come into its own. This jacket has so many features that I'm still finding, it’s truly an amazing piece of work and very well built. This should be my leather for the next 10 years at least. My only reservation to anyone ordering one of these is be aware of the taper. If it says XXL-TALL, it means your chest and tapers down to the waist of your High school days. I sent mine back and got a XXXL-TALL and am very happy with it now and just in time for some cool weather riding.

Not for Casual Wear
This jacket is not intended for casual wear. It is made to wear while riding and not for clubbing. The cut and fit are very good with or without the armor but you'll still look like a linebacker even without the armor. While riding it works very well. The two front vents and the left side back vent are easily opened or closed on the fly. The right side back vent has to be opened or closed with the right hand so offers more of a challenge without stopping. Venting with the liner in is marginal but noticeable. Without the liner venting works very well. Compared to my Firstgear Kilamanjaro this jacket is very user friendly. No hook and loop flaps covering all the vents that make on the fly vent adjustments difficult. The Kilamanjaro is an excellent all weather jacket but requires much more fiddling with. A good 3-season jacket.
