Small
The Bell drifter fits a little smaller than the sizes indicate. I recommend looking at the size chart and once you decide on your size, order the next bigger size. I ordered mine and had to exchange it because it was too small. Also, if you are looking for a helmet that closely follows the contour of your head, this is not it. It stands out a good inch all the way around from the padding and is a little bulky. Overall a good helmet.

Helmet
Beautiful light helmet. However it was the wrong size and the chin strap was just too tight against my throat and uncomfortable. Difficult to strap and un-strap as the strap was not long enough, and the buckle was hard for my fingers to separate. Beautiful design.

Great helmet
Size seems to run small but looks well made, hopefully I don't need to test its crash worthinest.

eh...
I love the look of the helmet, but the chin strap is weird because. It fits very funky and not very comfortable.
I'd return it but it's just not worth the effort and waste of time since it still works, just not what I expected.
It looks really over sized on the outside of the helmet also, fits snug, just looks huge and clunky.

Re-SOLD the helmet
I loved the look of the BELL Drifter helmet. I received it in a timely manner and was happy with it in person until I tried it on. The Drifter did not fit comfortably and sat entirely too high on my head. Also, the position of the chin strap caused it to choke me when fastened. I sold it to someone who liked it better than I. Thank you

Mushroom, Watermelon!
This is a very cool looking helmet but may not be for everyone.
I wear an xl and this helmet makes my big melon head even "Larger" Gargantuous is more like it... "mind the spelling"
It has added protection with it's thick linning and the ear muffs are very cool indeed.
I liked this helmet much but the fit is less to be desired.
It lays on your head like a giant mushroom top. I would imaging that interstate rides would create much buffeting if it doesn't parachute me off the bike. :)

I purchase the Drifter helmet and I was completely satisfied with the product. I will be purchasing more products from your company. The cost of the product was of great concern.

Drifter
I bought my Drifter a couple of years ago. It has standard rivets for the chin strap and also had a big, white Bell logo painted on the front of it. When I removed the painted logo, it left a fairly large shiny oval on the front of my flat black helmet. Not really a big deal as I just covered it with a sticker. When I first set the adjustment pads, they were pretty tight. Now, after two years, they fit very well if not a bit loose. Today, when I ride to work, I just throw it on. However, when it's interstate or distance time I put on a do-rag and it takes all the shake away without becoming overly tight. FYI, with the exception of the chin strap, DOT sticker and badging, the Bell Drifter is identical to the Giro Bad Lieutenant snowboard helmet (Giro is a subsidiary of Bell). I mention this because Giro manufactured audio/communication ear pads for the Bad Lieutenant that are exact replacements for the Drifter ear pads. In all, it's an inexpensive and clean way for a rider to audio their Drifter for an ipod.

This helmet is great. However, since I am a newbie rider, it seems to be great only for around town and not for Highway. The look is bad! I would definitely recommend this helmet and motorcycle superstore.

Don't even think about it
If you think you might get this helmet a couple of sizes smaller than you would normally wear, then remove part of the liner and/or padding to bring it up to size... forget it. Even the x-small helmet is F!@#%$ HUGE. They must use the same colander-size shell, then add thicker and thicker foam to make "smaller" helmets.
Also, the "skin" helmet isn't any kind of leather, it's just some rubbery synthetic stuff that tears very easily.

confidence
This helmet is a bit bigger than most you see on the street, but for good reason. you may have a bit of the mushroom head, but you feel confident that if the worst does happen, you will have good protection in comparison to most brain buckets out there. The fit is good, and the look is smooth. I have not yet had a chance to check out the neck guard and ear pieces, waiting until winter.

Drifter Helmet - The largest helmet known to man
The outer design and graphics are awesome. Love the bullet rivets and the winged skull design. But it is the largest helmet I've ever put on. Returned it immediately. Looks sleek in the picture but the extremely thick padding along with the outward flare of the shell makes for a "mushroom head" of epic proportions.

cool look until you try it on
I really liked the look of the helmet online. I liked the design and the leather. And it looked cool infront of me. But when you try it on its very mushroom head! I leave the ear covers in just to try and blend it alittle better. I have a very narrow head so that might be the problem but im already looking for thinner helmets. good quality though!!!

I have had this helmet for a bit now it just came back from being replaced the leather was tearing away from the helmet it was very cheap. Now it’s a nice thick leather that even smells great. It’s the same helmet, it’s just been overhauled and its half made in the USA. I am not a fan of Imported items but now I am semi happy to own this helmet it goes great with my leather products. They’re 100% American made leathers. Do not be a poser biker, buy American.

Great helmet! Terrible chinstrap!
This is a good looking and very comfortable helmet. The chin strap on the other hand sucks! It's very uncomfortable! It's just a thin; 1/2", maybe 3/4" strap. No padding or anything. And for the loose strap after you fasten it under your chin there is a rubber band type thing to put it in. Every time I ride the strap comes out of it and slaps up against the helmet continually. It's very annoying. I finally had to just tuck the extra strap under itself and my chin. I plan to write Bell about this also. Maybe they'll send me a free chinstrap pad.

Drifter Helmet
This helmet fills the bill for me. I wear glasses so I don't like the full helmets, but I needed something to protect my ears in cold weather. The ear pads work fine and I don't have to worry about my glasses getting all bent and scrunched around. The helmet looks good too. It's a keeper!!

Not Bad
It is my first half helmet so I don't have anything to compare with. Fitment is great, but it seems like it might be slightly smaller than stated. The removable ear piece is great on a very cold day. If I were to compare it to a Full Face Shoei, there is a very significant wind resistance but for a half helmet, I think it is a norm.

Pretty cool, but...
The helmet looks amazing...when it is off your head! There is definitely no running from the DOT mushroom syndrome. Solid as a rock and really cool to look at (I have the leather one), but definitely NOT as streamlined as the picture makes you think.

This is a great fitting helmet, size chart is spot on, helmet doesn’t budge in highway cruise, the look itself of the helmet is sick, by far it is the sickest dot helmet on the market, but u cant run from the mushroom look, no matter what u cant beat a novelty German or military helmet!!!

Drifter helmet
We love Drifter helmets. However Bell has a problem sizing the Pink Diablo. My wife had a small in matte black. She tried to replace it with another small in Diablo pink and it was like an extra small so we had to send it back. We went to a local dealer and the same thing happened. A small in black is different than a small in the Diablo Pink?? C’mon Bell, get it together

Military Style Drifter Helmet
Excellent construction and innovative style commemorating the military. Very similar to the new Kevlar helmet which is smaller and light. I have received many compliments on the helmet. Definitely like the bullet style rivets along the outside of the helmet. The new issue ACU helmet cover fits over the Drifter like a glove. I'm very satisfied with this helmet! Definitely recommend it to anyone!

I really like this helmet. I get a lot of compliments on it and questions as to where I got it. The fit feels funny, but I'm not used to wearing a helmet in this style. I really love the design (I have the one with pink flames.) I was slightly disappointed the flames weren't hot pink, only a light pink. That is only my preference though.

This helmet is great. I have had Bell helmets in the past and they have all was looked and fit great. The drifter is awesome I have two of the ones with flames and the leather one. Nice helmet.
All in all this is a good helmet. I really like the style; I get lots of positive comments from people about its look. I have noticed on cool mornings the ear warmers don't do that great of a job, but I have a face cover that goes over my ears and that fixes the problem. It's hard to find a helmet that meets every need of every driver, but at the end of the day, if this helmet was stolen, or destroyed, I'd buy another just like it.

The helmet fits good and looks awesome! Its even fairly durable too, it fell off my bike onto some gravel and I could barely see any marks at all. The strap on it is a bit long and sometimes flaps and hits my ear... nothing scissors can’t fix though.

A Tad Rough On The Head
The helmet looks great, but the fit is takes a bit of getting used to. This is not my first brain bucket, but it is the first that I have had that has very little padding at the very top of the helmet. If strapped down to hard, you really feel it on the top of your head. I also do not like the fact that it does not have a clip or snap for the neck strap. Too much flapping in the wind. I do however like the back neck guard, keeps the wind from flowing down your back.

At first I didn't think this was going to be a good helmet as far as wear ability is concerned. After I wore it a few times and the pads conformed to my head, I couldn't ask for more. It is a great helmet! It looks good, and now feels good! A little more wind noise compared to a full face that I'm used to but I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Bell Drifter Helmet
The Bear Flag Drifter is the second Drifter I've had. This one fits better than the first one, in fact, really good, so I gave it a 5 for fit, however be aware that different helmets and different styles of this helmet might fit slightly differently. This is a 'bare-bones' helmet (features rating: 3); nothing fancy, just DOT rated and a really cool graphic. I hope I don't need it, but I think Bell has a good reputation and puts out a good product. In checking the test results on the DOT website, I have never seen a Bell helmet fail.

The helmet looks great and is very easy to fit, with removable padding, making this the most comfortable half helmet I own. The only problem I have is that the chin strap could be a little longer. The cost is more than most half helmets out there, but you get what you pay for, a well made, great fitting helmet.

Bell Drifter Helmet
First, the cost was okay. The fit was tight in some spots. The finish was not what I expected. The picture I saw prior to ordering, did not reflect the true color of orange I expected. Durability appears to be okay but it has not been tested. Features as far as the neck pad and the top of the head additions were not what I expected. These should have already been affixed to the helmet before it was received. Finally, the strap on the back of the helmet was a complete surprise and if I had seen it in the picture when ordering, I probably would not have ordered the helmet.

NOT QUITE WHAT I EXPECTED
Overall this helmet is ok, just considering the price led me to a few disappointments. For one thing, the inside of the helmet is a lot harder than I expected and those so called "comfort strips" aren't really all that comfortable. Should've just named ‘em "head shims". I have a spare helmet that beats this one hands down on comfort but makes me feel like the guy that never made the show CHiPs. Ear muffs are pretty handy in cool weather and it does come with a storage bag. I agree with Alex, thi

Bell Drifter - Pretty Good
Overall, I like this helmet and so does my wife. Great "cruiser" helmet with good looks. Paint and finish: Very good on my gloss black helmet as well as my wife's matte black helmet. Comfort: Decent but gets a bit uncomfortable at the top of my head when worn for longer than an hour. D-ring strap is good but they use an elastic loop instead of a snap to hold excess strap. I stay under 55 MPH when I wear this one because it tends to catch a lot of air and pushes my head back/up. More of an "aroun

Good but not great
It's comfortable and looks ok for a full-on DOT approved half-helmet (aka BIG). Removable ears and adjustable rear neck padding are nice too. Anything over 55-60mph and it will try to leave your head if you don’t use a windscreen. I got the flat black one, paint job and details are fantastic! In looks this thing gets a 5. Bell, make it a bit thinner on the padding and you'll have a winner! Overall I'm content. Style vs safety is always important in choosing a helmet, and you can really on

The staff I dealt with at this store were very polite and very very helpful. I had to exchange one of the helmets for a larger size and there were no questions asked, just took me through the procedure. The helmets fit and look nice.
