Only the best boot ever!
Okay, to be fair I haven't done the legwork to back it up but it's got nice armor, very convenient (as far as motorcycle boots go) with the zipper/Velcro closure and completely water-proof. I ride through Washington winters and haven't been let down yet.

Firstgear-Star Boot
I ordered the boot in one half size more than I normally wear, expecting the fit to be a bit tight. I was correct to do so. The fit is just what I wanted. The boot fit would have been to small if I ordered my normal size. Fit and finish is good. I haven't traveled in a soaker rain storm yet, but I expect the boot will perform according to the fit and finish and not present any problems. The boot is as comfortable off the bike as on. My pants fit into the boot, or outside the boot equally well. Service and delivery was good. I have already recommended the product and Motorcycle Superstore to others.

FirstGear Star Boot
I originally ordered the metric size equivalent to size 12 and it was just a little too small. I sent back that order and reordered the next size up and the fit is perfect. I guess the boots run a little small from the listed size.
With the correct size, these boots are very comfortable and function very well in actual riding conditions. The toe space for shifting my 1984 BMW R100RT is minimum and the boot toe fits under the shifter closely but with no problem.
Nice boot, good value, easy to on and off and Velcro allows quick adjustment.

Trip Results: 4000 miles in 30 days
I wear a Nike 11 1/2, and so I went with a 12. They are sized correctly. The extra half size got me just enough extra room for thick hiking style socks used on my long trip. They were very easy to put on and take off, with a half zipper supplemented by a full length of independent velcro panels. They were very easy to wipe down for cleaning. These were great for temps ranging from 45 to 100. I did several miles of hiking in the boots and found them to be comfortable without having to break them in (but I wouldn't use them for more extended hiking).

Star Boot fit
First, i would like to thank Motorcycle Superstore for being so easy to work with. Their return policy was helpful.
Sizes vary from manufacture to manufacture. I did try on a pair of $350 dollar boots at my local BMW dealer that fit great with full intentions of buying them. size 44. I just couldn't bring myself to do so based on cost.
I resorted to the web. Firstgear was recommended from a friend, so i bought a pair of Star Boots in a 44. They were a to big for my 9.5 foot. Easy return the 44's and get 43's for a lose of shipping cost.
The 43's fit great, are very comfortable, I could wear them all day. I don't believe there is a better boot out there for the money.

Firstgear-Star Boot
I selected the Star Boot based on other Firstgear products I have purchased in the past. So far I have not been disappointed. The fit is excellent, comfortable but secure, permitting a good sense of feel for your shifting foot. They are also comfortable to walk around in even though they offer a good deal of protection if the unthinkable happens.
