Joel Keneipp Hanover,  VA Cheap but warm Balaclava It's very thin and will fit in your pocket no problem, but is surprisingly warm. With this and a scarf I'm warm and cozy in 30 degree weather at highway speeds. The seam is poorly placed right on your nose/mouth, but you get what you pay for. Fits fine with a 7 1/8" head.

Angelo Avenel,  NJ Good enough for moderate cold weather For this balaclava works well for the fall and probably will use it during the spring. I could not see using this in the winter (not in the northeast anyway) but it works when the temp is around 50 - 60. I know some reviews complain about it covering the nose or mouth, but for the most part I haven't found that to be a problem for me. I did start wearing it inside out so that the seam doesn't bother my face. I think for the price it is perfect and I am happy to have it as part of my gear repository :)

Gary Manzer Oneonta,  NY River Road Balaclava Kind of thin. Doesn't cover the back of your neck very well. Material thin. Really only good for temperature’s above 50 degrees.

Charles Vancouver,  WA Almost what I needed... I bought this with the hope it would cover my throat from the wind. In fact, it barely makes it past my chin. I have to say I appreciate the warmth on my cheeks during cold rides, something I didn't have before. Someone wrote that the seam on the inside is irritating…yep. All in all, for the price, it was worth the experiment and I do get some benefit from it, but I really wanted it to extend way past my throat to stop the drafts down my chest.

Chuck Reedsport,  OR Don't be fooled by first impressions When I first received my balaclava, I was a bit skeptical. The material seemed very thin. But, after wearing it, I discovered that it gave me just the right amount of wind protection under my full face helmet. I live on the Oregon coast where temperatures stay relatively mild; if I was in a colder climate, I would probably want something a little warmer. My only gripe is the fit. The seam runs down the middle of my nose, which makes it a bit unconformable at times. Also, the cutout for the eyes is a bit too narrow for my head, so it can be a bit of a struggle to get it positioned just right under my helmet. But at a price, it does its job quite well.

Mark Werkema Orting,  WA River Road Balaclave The balaclava works well but there are two problems I encountered with it. First, because I have a larger head, the one size fits most is a little small for me. Second, the seam on the balaclava joins right on the front of your face. The gathered material sits right in the middle of my nose, making it a bit uncomfortable.
