Jeff Stoddard Front Royal,  VA Firstgear TPG Escape Pants I really like these pants. I bought them to wear over the clothes I wear to work and ordered one size larger. Perfect fit on the waist but as noted in other reviews, the knee pads ride low and the legs are a little long with my 30 inch inseam. I've used them for about two months in temperatures as low as the mid-30s on my 55 mile commute at 70 MPH. Never did get cold. Like I said, I really like these pants.

MDP Rockingham,  NC Most Comfortable Pants I have owned I own a pair of Draggin jeans and Firstgear HT Air Overpants, but these TPG are the most comfortable pants I have owned. I am large and I commute to work 100 miles roundtrip in a suit. I need pants to cover my dress pants and I wanted them to be waterproof. These work very well, but I had to buy a size larger than I wear b/c my size did not provide easy movements over my clothes. The insulation kept me warm riding in 33 degrees over the Blue Ridge Mtns and dry in a cold rain. Three improvements needed: 1) knee armor needs to be adjustable, it is too low; 2) the leg zippers needs to go higher, it is difficult to get over my boots; and 3) need to be able to adjust the inseam length, I have a 30" inseam and these only come in 33".

Mario New York,  NY TPG Escape Pants I have only used them twice so far. They fit well, I ordered the 32 and I am a 32, the waist has enough room to tuck in a sweater without getting too tight. Wore them in 40 degree temp without the liner and was comfortable. The leg zipper only goes up to the knee, kind of defeats the purpose of an overpant. The knee armor is too low even while on the bike and is uncomfortable as a result. I like them overall, but those two issues would stop me from buying again.

Eric milford,  NJ First pair? Go Firstgear !!! These are the first pair of overpants/riding pants that I bought. I was pleasantly surprised by the fit, comfort, and warmth that these offered. The padding inserts are a little off in placement, but they'd work in a spill. I liked the outer pockets and leg zippers. Made for easy on/off of the pants. Would recommend these to anyone.

Al holtsville,  NY TPG escape pants Great fitting pants. Well worth the money. With the liner out very comfortable in spring early summer. Rain protection was excellent. Only complaint is that knee protection rides too low even in sitting position (I have a 30" inseam).

Leo Aronson Eureka,  CA warm and toasty pants Excellent pants and an even better liner. the liner is very warm. It is almost too thick to wear longjohns under unless its gonna be a cold day of riding, like below mid 30's. When its really hot you almost want more vents but you can zip up the lower leg and get a little more air flow. grat when coupled with the rainier jacket i highly recommend both items for comfortable touring.

David Marshall,  VA One Year Review The pants are still going strong. During the winter the liner really worked well while still allowing me to move around reasonably well. It seems to be the only downside to the pants is the leg zipper - yes, it is not full length. However, when you have the liner in you wouldn't want your boots sliding through there anyway. Also, the zippers are waterproof - more expensive so why have it full length? These pants seem to be bulletproof and, though I have yet to test the armor (...a good thing), it seems that Knox makes some quality gear. I really like the hip protection and it fits well. The waterproof pocket comes in handy. A+ and worth the extra $$ to me.

ARCHIMEDES SEQUIM,  WA A GOOD FIT When I first tried on the pants I noticed the knee armor was down to my shines but when I sat on my bike with both feet on the pegs the armor went right over my knees.

Frank Jiron Antonito,  CO Firstgear TPG escape pants Excellent pants, well worth the price. Could be a bit easier to put on and take off with a full length side zipper though. Everything else is first rate.

Frank Jiron Antonito,  CO Firstgear TPG escape pants I purchased a pair of these pants and the Teton jacket and at first I was a bit worried about spending that amount of cash on my first riding suit but when I received the two pieces I was elated. I immediately tried them on expecting to possibly have to send one or both back for the correct size. Not the case. The pants fit great although the inseam seemed a bit long at first. When I put on my favorite riding boots they were perfect. The armor seems a bit low for the knees but when I sat on the bike they hiked up right into place. I like the liner, pockets, adjusting straps, almost everything about them. I rated them only 4 stars due to the side zippers as someone else noted in their rating these pants are difficult to slip over your boots. A full zipper may make it be a bit easier to slip in and out of these pants. These pants are also comfortable. They may look bulky but they seem to move with the rider and don't seem to restrict my movement. After looking at them for a long while I realized that I got a great set of pants for the price. And with the matching Teton jacket I'm ready to roll in style and comfort, wet weather or dry, warm days or cool nights. I'm going to wear these a lot because they look good too. Thanks to Firstgear and Motorcycle Superstore.

Sir Scootsalot Elkridge,  MD Warm & Dry but with issues... I have never been cold or wet while riding with them on and they are great for 35-70deg riding. But, they do have a few drawbacks. First off, because they only unzip to the knee, you have to remove your shoes to get them on and off. Secondly, they don't cinch up around the bottom of the leg. And lastly, the knee padding is positioned too low for a normal height rider and is non-adjustable.

IB Sam Flowery Branch,  GA First Gear Escape Pants The Escape Pants have worked well for me. I like not having to stop and put rain gear on and have the warmth that these pants give. I've ridden in the 30 degree range with the liners and in the 50's w/o the liner and have been comfortable. The rating for fit is due to the armor for the knees being too low, and I will get that fixed. I have the Ranier jacket and the Escape pants and they work very well together. I highly recommend Motorcycle Superstore. They do what they advertise.

Steve Dussinger Alexandria,  VA Firstgear Escape Paints I purchased the Escape pants after carefully comparing reviews of different brands. Getting the right fit can be more difficult for a "senior" rider. I ordered the XXL originally but they were way too long and wide. I then ordered the XL and found the length & waste to be about right. I'm 6 feet tall and with a 40 waiste and 33 inseam. The knee pads turned out to be 'shin pads' for me but didn't want to go even smaller. Very nice quality and very warm during 10 degree rides. Also great for 30 degrees and heavy rain, completely dry afterward a 30 mile ride.

Steven Merritt Muncie,  IN Escape Pants They are what I needed to extend my riding season, great fit, comfortable and durable. I think they will last for years and order the size that your normal jeans are and you will be happy that you did.

Bill Seabeck,  WA Excellent Pants! I purchased these pants to go with the Raineer jacket and am completely sold! These pants are warm and dry. I really appreciate the pads and that the knee pads, hip pads are spot on where they belong. I initially thought about getting the tall size as the jacket was a tall, but after trying a pair on at a local dealership found that the regular length was fine. The tall size had the knee pads too low for me. I am 6'2" 220 and got the 36 regulars. I ride with these as over pants or with just scrub bottoms on and even down to 34 degrees, rain and an hour ride I am warm each day! Well constructed pants worth the money. One thing, yeah I agree, the zippers should come up further.

Joel atlanta,  GA first class pants I purchased these as over pants for my commute to work. The fit and finish on these pants is top rate. They are far and away the best article of bike clothing I own. Felt lined pockets are a nice touch. Absolutely no regrets with these and I highly recommend them to others. The only negative is that it is difficult to put them on if I’ve already put my boots on (i.e. riding boots need to be off to put pants on or off). great pants otherwise.

mnb San Jose,  CA Decent pants but not great The armor is pretty good, but the knee armor is WAY too low. The pockets are nice. It comes with two liners, one for cold, and one for wet, although I doubt it needs the wet one. The leg zipper is only half length, it should be nearly full length, and my boots get stuck in them. I bought these to go with the Teton jacket, but to be honest, I think they're over priced and under designed.

toby Keene,  NH Firstgear Escape Pants I purchased these as an over pant for my commute to work. They definitely fit better than the Fieldsheer Adventure and Tourmaster Caliber pants that I ordered and had to send back. Those were way too small even though I followed the sizing guide and even added one size - not even close to fitting. The waist in these are fine but the legs are definitely for the taller rider so the knee guards protect my shins - being inseam impaired - and there is no adjustment. They are of very good quality, warm enough so that I haven't used the liner yet though morning temps are in the low 40s and today I got rained on and came out dry. My prior pants were Joe Rocket Ballistic Pants which fit well but they never were waterproof as advertised and so I decided to try these instead and have been happy with them.

David Warrenton,  VA Great set of pants ...granted I have yet to ride in cold weather with them. They came in yesterday so I took a quick ride in them. Roughly 75-80 degrees; they vented surprisingly well considering only 2 vents (they are huge). Very heavy weight when the liner is in them so I can't wait to see how they do in winter. Hip and knee pads fit like a glove. We'll see about durability but judging from the seams and the thickness of the nylon they should last awhile. As far as what I would change...nothing. They seem good the way they are.

Brian Buss Redmond,  WA First Gear Escape Pants These pants are first class products. The included Kevlar reinforcement is great added protection, and the CE approved armor is likewise. They are easy to put on and take off with the side zips that open up to the knee, and the zip out liner is easy to remove or install. My only complaint is that in my size you can have any color as long as it is black. I would have liked to be able to get them with the yellow panels.
