    Good stuff

I used a set of these on a 2014 Aprilia Tuono v4. They were very stable and easy to ride on. However, they slipped very easily on painted lines even when they were dry and hot. I got 2700 miles out of rear tire. At 2,700 miles the front is cupped even after closely watching tire pressure. I consider myself a spirited road rider.

    Insane grip

I was a little scared when I walked the bike out of the garage and it started picking up everything it went over!!! No joke, there were rocks the size of silver dollars stuck to the tires. Once I got it on the road (dry) the handling was very comfortable and solid cornering.

    Continually Reliable

I've been using this tire for the last 8+ tire changes (front and rear) on a 2009 Yamaha YZF-R1. It outlasts many other tires, has a very nice grip to it, and performs well in all weather (except snow). I recently learned of the "D-spec" tire, which is apparently a little better than the regular M5. It's a tiny bit more expensive and documentation is pretty scarce on the D-spec, but basically, "D-Spec tires feature Metzeler's Multi-Zone Compound Technology."

This tire stuck to my hand when I opened the box, every review on here is bang on. I will only buy Metzeler's from now on.

    Best I've ever run

I have run thru multiple sets on an R12S and K13S, love the tire. Better than any tire I've ever ridden, sticky even when cold. Gives complete confidence on the twisties. I am actually getting about 5000 mi on the rear, and I'm not complaining, but I've gone with a Z8 on the rear of the K13.

    Excellent tires

I bought the M5 for my 2001 R1 to replace my Pirelli Diablo Rosas. These tires are the best I have ever sliced curves on. I ride Hwy #199 from the OR border to work in Crescent City-35 miles of bike killing rocks & curves. These tires WANT to lean into the turn and instill a level of confidence I have not known before. As an added plus, Grooved pavement is minimized. So far the wear is better than I expected due to the stickiness. I'll be buying another set when this set goes.

    Great tire

I replaced my diablos with the sport tec 5! Great tires! I ride all mountain roads and these are great gripping tires. Turn in is confident, and wet weather is still good. I went with diablo Rossi 2 's and dr2 lasted me only 2,500 miles verse st5 leasing me 7k!! I would buy st5 again in a heartbeat!

    These Tires are Unreal....

I put two of these on my CBR125R because the stock tires nearly killed me 3 times in the rain. These tires are unbelievable. Wet weather traction is, literally, the same as dry. I can now ride in rainstorms with no concern about my safety - they are that good. Dry weather performance? There’s no need to slow for corners anymore. All of this adds up to incredible safety. It's not just that these tires turned my bike into a corner eating machine, it's that they are safe under any conditions.

    OK tire

A 190/50 was spooned on and ridden hard out of the gate. At max lean, there was some slipping in the "L" curves @ 40 psi temps. I had to decrease psi to 35 temps. I slam a ZX14. No slipping after that. I don't know about tread life yet. The elephant is almost gone.

    Wowzers!! 2007 GSX-R600

Just swap to this from Pirelli Diablo Rossos... All I can say is Wow.. You notice the difference immediately. Turns feel more smooth and it almost feels like it guides the motorcycle.. Still going thru the 100 mile break in period before I turn out the elephant zone.. :)

    Metzeler M5, Elephant Hunter

I like this tire, a lot. It seems, right away I can feel the quick warm up and grip as advertised. I also have new found confidence in corners (lean) due to a very solid and predictable grip. Wow, nice job Metzeler; can I get 6000+ miles? Now there's a challenge. (a hunting I will go, A hunting I will go....)

    Best of both worlds

Unbelievable traction and control on B-King. Have rubbed the elephants trunk! Confidence inspiring in all situations! Have run most other brands without this level of control. Wear is not a factor with this kind of control! They are all that!

    driver

the m5's are great i drive my gixxer 1000 all year long yes winter as well and this is my second pair they handle well in the worst of conditions. i drove just over 6200 miles on the rear and could have continued using the front for another couple of months but I like to replace them at the same time so i highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new set of tires

    HIGHLY recommended...

I am now on my SECOND M5 rear tire (the front hasn't needed replacement yet). These tires have EXCELLENT wet-weather traction, a must in Florida, definitely bolster rider confidence, making you lean just-a-little-further... I also got excellent wear out of these. I had to replace the rear when threads started showing, and I had put approximately 7500 miles on them on my Buell XB12R Firebolt. This is the only tire I will use from here on.
