Product Information

Bell Vortex Helmet

Even though it may be the little brother to the Star, the Bell Vortex is the farthest thing from being a push over in the family line. Built to give up little in the way of comfort and options, the Vortex shares a range of features with the high-end Star such as Velocity Flow Ventilation™ with FlowAdjust™ and the ClickRelease face shield. The race bred designed lightweight shell gives a sleek, slippery shape that allows for unmatched stability at speed and on the inside, contoured cheek pads and a plush removable comfort liner finish it off to give you a complete package at a killer price.

Features:
  • Velocity Flow Ventilation™ system with FlowAdjust™ for maximum stability and temperature control with minimal noise and buffeting
  • Lightweight composite polycarbonate alloy shell
  • Contour cheek pads (by means of stacked foam, not hand cut)
  • Removable and washable, antibacterial/antimicrobial interior comfort liner
  • Padded wind collar to drastically reduce wind/road noise
  • Integrated speaker pockets for audio speakers
  • ClickRelease™ for the fastest, easiest, tool-free shield swaps ever
  • NutraFog II™ superior anti-fog, anti-scratch and UV protected shield
  • Padded chin strap with D-ring closure and strap keeper
  • Five-year warranty
  • Certification: Snell, DOT

**Note: Helmet shown with optional tinted shield. Clear shield included.

Vortex

Good helmet for the price, excellent fit true to size, air flow is good but the shield fogs up some times if you ride in the mid 40 to 50 and it does have some wind noise after 60 m/hr but it’s not too bad after all you are on a bike I recommend this helmet, no play on the head on speed and the photocrom. Shield does the job perfect clear to dark smoke in 5 sec.

Good for the Money

This helmet is a great deal at the for the price, make no mistake, it's not a Shoei or Arai, so you get for you pay. Overall it’s a bit heavier than the Shoei's RF1000/RF1100, and the fit is Round. Best way to put it: if you are a Shoei head you are good to go!, but will have pressure points if you are a Arai's head (oval). Quality and fit is exceptional (for a $200 helmet!!.)

still waiting

If your head measures exactly 23 in. it’s hard to say if the large would be too loose, I ordered the medium and with stock cheek pads removed it fits perfect

A 25 star product!

After about a month of having the Bell Vortex Helmet, I have nothing but positive things to say about it. I recommend this helmet to those who want a very good looking helmet. Intimidating look and for the price they’re asking it’s reasonable. The Bell Vortex Helmet is a 25 star absolutely.

Great helmet

This is a great helmet. Ventilation that actually works, a shield that doesn't fog up, and great looks add up to a helmet that should cost way more. Some people gripe that it's heavy, but we're talking about a few ounces difference compared to a helmet costing 3x more. It's a little noisy, but you should be wearing earplugs anyway.

Bell has come back in a big way!!!

The Bell Vortex is without question the best helmet for under $200, and possibly the best helmet for under $300! The airflow is great, with plenty of vents. The size is very true to scale. The noise level is about average, but then again, I have never seen a truly quiet helmet. The shield change system is about as easy as it gets. I have already purchased two of these helmets....

Great Helmet at a Great Price

It was time to replace my old helmet and after looking around a bit I came across the Bell Vortex Helmet. The shield replacement system is the easiest I've ever used, padding is great (especially the recesses for the ears), air flow is excellent, and its an overall great buy.

Life saver...helps out the pocket as well!

First helmet I bought, and I'm glad it was. SNELL AND DOT approved?? Get out of town. Outstanding functionality and performance for a helmet that is under $200? Preposterous good sir. The Click Release feature is a bonus as well. Thanks MSS!

Bell Vortex Helmet, Gloss Black

I researched at all the top brands: Icon, Shoei, Scorpion, HJC, Arai, etc, before taking the plunge (I've had a Shoei RF-1100 in the past). They don't stack up to the value of this helmet. According to the charts I am a medium, and it fits perfect. It looks awesome & is high quality. I think Bell could be charging nearly twice the MSRP for this thing, but I am glad they don't! Do yourself a favor: Save money, skip the overpriced Arais/Shoeis, and get one of these helmets. You won't be disappointed.

Quality Helmet

I am a daily KLR-650 rider averaging about 12,000 miles a year. Bell did a good job here. Delivering a premium quality, Snell approved helmet for $180 bones! I like all the features listed, especially the ventilation and snug air cuff at bottom. All around quality. My favorite helmet thus far. I'd recommend it to my friends.

Great Helmet

This is a great helmet. The look the fit and the features. It is much quieter than my modular helmet and the airflow is good.

I like this helmet

I originally bought the blue tooth Oneal Helmet and was not satisfied with the Bluetooth and chose this helmet instead. Its great, comfortable, Stable, and is a great price. You will enjoy it. Did not really need Bluetooth.

best bang for your buck

This helmet replaced my bell mako sprint helmet and I think this one is a far better helmet. It fit a bit snug at first but after the padding got broken in it fit very well. Plenty of air movement without being really loud. The helmet in gloss black with dark smoke visor looks awesome and for under $200 it would be hard to beat this helmet.
