Light but effective

I haven't tried this in really cold weather but it seems adequate in 40-50 degree temps. It seems very light weight so I don't know how durable it will be. I wear a size small helmet and it wasn't too loose.

Does the job well

Fits wells under both my full face and modular helmets. Keeps my neck warm, cuts the winds and prevents fog on my faceshield. Provided the solution for which I was looking.

Keeps you warm, but you won't get hot.

Pretty incredible product, actually. Keeps you warm well into the 40s. But you can wear it well into the 80s (and maybe even 90s) and not feel hot in it. It's really quite versatile that way. And one wouldn't need a neck warmer in conjunction with this product unless it's in the low 40s or 30s. I've got both the silk-weight and warmer-weight (forget what it's called) and keep both in the back pocket of my touring jacket.

Nice

Besides riding, my work frequently takes me outdoors, so I've owned many versions and brands. Without doubt, I rate this one the best of its kind, and consider it an essential part of my gear.

Great product, does what it says. Keeps sweat, oils out of the linear of the helmet. Much easier to clean than the linear.

Looks good,fits good,& wears good.

I bought this to wear under my full face helmet to help with wind noise, and also to help with getting the helmet on and off my big head.. It fits good, is a little stretchy, which is a good thing. It is very thin, so it isn’t to hot in the summer. It does help with the noise, as I was getting some buffeting around the base of the helmet, where it fits around your neck. This balaclava is long enough to reach the base of your neck, and it does help with wind noise. It also wicks away any sweat, which makes keeping your helmet clean a little easier. If you ride in cold weather you might want to get one that is a little thicker, but for warm weather it is great. I would recommend this product and I would buy it again.

Balaclava

Keeps the cold off your chin and neck. One unforeseen benefit is that it really helps prevent fogging of my face shield. A little sticky with velcro is the only draw back.

Nice balaclava, does the trick

This is a nice, lightweight balaclava. I live in southern Arizona and it can get pretty hot (110+) in the summer and at or below freezing during the winter, and my rides take me from desert valley floors to mountains over 4000 feet in elevation. I wanted something that would keep my head warmer when I need it, yet wick sweat away when I start to perspire. The Schampa Silkweight balaclava does the trick! It's also a nice way of keeping tons of dust out of your mouth and nose, and it covers the back of my neck so I don't get sunburned when I ride. I will always carry this with me in my riding pack from now on!

Great all-around balaclava

I'd been looking for something that would fit me, since I've got an XXL head, and this thing feels great. It fits on my wife's XS head as well, so it's pretty versatile. May not have the most insulation, but it's a good barrier between your head and your helmet, and knocks off a little wind from your neck. Definitely a good buy, just can't be a judge of the durability quite yet.

perfect!!

I love the silk balaclava--it's just right. I didn't want anything bulky under my helmet. I am a woman with a fairly big head and it's a good fit. I ordered it after reading another review by a man who said it fit, and it does, indeed!! It feels very comfortable with no irritation from seams, and I can pull the chin up or push it down. I am happy with it.

For warmer weather!!!

It is very comfortable and lightweight! I forget I have it on. It is more for warmer weather but I wore it in the cold and it helped keep the wind off. Was still a little cold, so I would recommend buying a thicker one if riding in cold weather.

Kept my neck warm

For me there were 2 great advantages to owning this product. Not needing a scarf of any sort, and my earplugs not getting ripped out when I put my helmet on if I'm wearing this. It definitely kept me warm enough on a 50 degree 15mph headwind ride for 8 hours.
