Good tank bag

PRO: Okay the quality of finish and zippers are very high, looks good too. Decent size to carry wallet, glasses, and any misc stuff you want out of your pocket. CON: The only problem I have is the map pocket size is very small. To fold a normal size state map to fit, means pretty much crumpling it and jam into the map pocket the best you can.

Firstgear Silverstone tank bag issues

Check the dimensions, height is advertised as 7.5 in. to 8.5 in. expanded. Mine was 5.5 in. to 6.5 in. 2 inches shorter than advertised! The 12.5 inch length was just under 11.5 inches!...Part number and tag was correct, I guess they have different rulers in Indonesia..?? Nice bag though, I wish I could have used it..

Firstgear-Silverstone Tank Bag

Works well, fits well, (I have a Kawasaki Versys), and holds more than you might think. Stays in place without marring or scratching the tank. The top window is great for a GPS, map, or anything you may need to reference. The quality is consistent with other Firstgear products I have purchased.

Silverstone tank bag is a winner

I was concerned when I ordered this bag that it might not fit my ZR-7. It fits like a glove. Very useful, and it replaced the ugly saddlebags I have used for several years.

nice tank bag

I picked up the Silverstone Tank Bag for my 2007 VStrom. It fits nicely and the magnets kept it steady on a 2000km highway trip last week. Like all tank bags it is useful and handy. Note that this bag is not very big, and the map window is only about 5x8. Comes with a waterproof cover (which seems dumb - why not make the bag waterproof) which I haven't tried out yet. So far, a good, but smallish, bag. Nice value and an easy transaction from Motorcycle Superstore.

tank bag

I'm using this bag on my BMW F800GS. The tank is plastic so I thought I needed the mounting base. Not true, it attaches fine just by folding under the magnetic flaps and securing with the already supplied straps. Actually the mounting base is too large for the 800GS. Other than wanting the map window to be larger it is a fine medium-small tank bag. The supplied waterproof cover is different from the one supplied with the similar styled rear tail bag. The one with the tank bag is a somewhat stiff clear vinyl cover with elastic edges. The one with the tail bag is a black waterproof cloth type cover with draw strings. I guess the difference is so you can still see the map window??, but it’s a pretty distorted view. I'm generally happy with the bag compared to over $200 BMW bag.

Exactly what your endorsements said

I researched magnetic tank bags before choosing this one and am completely satisfied with the Silverstone tank bag. I don't use the safety straps on my 2009 Suzuki DL650K9 V-STROM and it stays put at speeds up to 100 mph...(it's not broken in yet...lol). My sons have both bought items from you and are very satisfied. Thank You !

Silverstone II Magnetic Tank Bag

This bag works well on my 2008 Concours, bigger than a small bag but not too bulky, yet can carry a ton. Good looks, finish and craftsmanship; appears it will last for many years and mikes of use. A good "do all" tank bag.

Tank Bag

I bought this item for a trip to Deals Gap Tenn. The tank bag fit great on the Busa tank and the magnets held to 120mph+ and never moved. If you are looking for a mid size storage bag this is the one for the job. If you want more storage a long bag would fit but it would cover the gas cap. GPS 60cs map fit great in the map compartment.

FirstGear-Silverstone Tank Bag

I couldn’t be more satisfied with the tank bag. It’s my first magnetic bag and I had concerns that it wouldn’t stay in place at highway speeds. There have been no problems at this point- I’m leaving to tour the western U.S. for the month of July '08, so Ill have to see how it performs over the trip-
