Throtle control

This cruise control unit works pretty well on my Honda 1800 VTX. It doesn't hold the speed over a long distance, but does so for long enough periods to give my throttle hand and wrist a rest. That was why I got it. Proof of my satisfaction might be that this is the second unit I have purchased. I had the first one on a Suzuki 1500cc Intruder. Last thought; I needed another 3/32" on the extension for the lock arm so I added two ss washers and it worked fine.

It functions well

This cruise control unit works pretty well on my Honda Shadow 1100. It doesn't hold the speed over a long distance, but does so for long enough periods to give my throttle hand and wrist a rest. That was why I got it. Proof of my satisfaction might be that this is the second unit I have purchased. The first one got boogered up in a little collision with a rear bumper. My fault. Anyway, I wouldn't have bought a second one had I not been satisfied with the first.

Install on vstar 1300

Will not work on Vstar 1300 Switch housing protrudes too far. You would have to grind housing down at least 1/4 of an inch.

2007 Yamaha Vstar 1300

This throttle lock does NOT fit on a 2007 Vstar 1300. The only way I could have used it would have been to file off 1/2" or more from the front of the switch housing. If it would have fit there it looked like it would function ok. Quality was fair to mediocre , but inexpensive so not so surprised. Just wanted to let people know not to get it for the Vstar 1300 or Vstar 950, or late model Roadstar.

got to say, it works

Not attractive but it does work. Had to find a longer spacer and screw to make it fit a Kawasaki Vulcan. Nice to rest throttle hand!

Very good product

This worked so well on our bike that I bought one for our daughters bike. We both use it on long rides together. Its great to get feeling back in the throttle hand. I didn't know how much I really needed this product.

Cruise Control

I first used this type of control in the 80's on a Suzuki 850. It performs great! I purchased this item for a new Suzuki. It was easy to install and adjust. Best of all it works!

Very Pleased!!

I like it!! So simple it was ridiculous. I installed this on my 2007 Yamaha Roadstar in less then 15 minutes just by LOOKING at the instructions. Wish it was aluminum instead of plastic but the product ROCKS!!! I'll be showing this to ALL my riding friends.

Works good

Installation was a problem, my grip has a small ring at the end and the rubber seals were too thick, I used a sander to trim even slimmer. It was difficult and somewhat dangerous but I managed to make it work, thats why I rated fit and installation 3 and 2. Excellent for giving throttle hand a break, but not good in the hills of Kentucky.

Vstar 650 - Vista Cruise

This is the perfect little piece of hardware that I've been needing. Takes about 20 minutes to install and everything I needed was included. Use the large rubber piece and trim it at the groove as indicated - fits perfect and you don't need to remove the grips either! Just took a 12 hour ride from Santa Rosa, CA to Bend, OR and used it several times and it worked as expected. For the price you really can't go wrong. Do yourself a favor and get one! No more numb fingers. ;-)

No more right-hand cramps!!! :-)

It took a little time to figure out the instructions. But once I did it took me all of about 25 minutes to slightly re-locate the switch housing and install this unit on my '07 Yamaha V-Star 1100. It is not a fancy looking item. But it is a great working one. It does work best on flat roads but is easily adjustable when you come to the ups and downs of the hills.

Not for 2006 VTX 1800

Since it advertises as "fits most", I figured it would fit mine. Unfortunately the throttle and brake lines come out of the bottom where the cruise control needs to sit flush, keeping it from working without having a longer bar. Sad, I was looking forward to using it on the way home. On goes my search.

great for the long haul

Great for long rides on flat roads. Takes time to get the hang of the fine adjustments needed with hills and curves.

Didn't work for me

I like the concept and really wanted this to work but it didn't. First, the length of the arm wasn't quite long enough so I rounded up a longer bushing and metric screw. Then, the handlebar clamp broke AFTER It had been on for a couple days and trying it out. The plastic design is a hindrance. This may work on some bikes that the ergonomics line up on just right.

vista cruise control

It is what it is! An inexpensive alternative manual control that works as advertised. Takes a little finesse to install, but works great on long trips. No more numb finger death grips!! Well worth the money.
