serious boots

I ride a Kawasaki Versys, adventure-tour style but really all on road. These boots are a lot of protection for the money. They are very stiff and the toe area is tall necessitating moving the shifter up, but that is an easy adjustment. I wear 12's in Rockport and Keene's and Danner's, 13's in Adidas and Nike. Went with the 12's. Toe is long but the toe box is somewhat narrow. I would have tried an 11.5 in a store, but kept the 12's. Figure on significant break in time to loosen them up a little, shifting feel is poor until broken in.

I like these boots

Good fit and comfortable out of the box. They ran true to size (10) and are wide enough. The construction and protection seem quite good. Not unexpectedly, they are quite warm... the first day out the temps were in the 80's and my feet were a bit warm. They seem to be 100% waterproof! The next day it poured all day, and even riding in the rain and pushing the bike out of the mud, my feet stayed dry.

Great fitting boots

These boots really fit my skinny feet and heals FANTASTIC and are very comfortable! But, if you try to tighten the buckles too much they will not click shut. Shifting with these boots on my new 2013 V-Strom 650 Adventure has been challenging (especially when they were brand new and stiff), I may try adjusting my shifter lever up to make it easier to get the boot under for upshifting.

Great Choice

I bought these boots rather than the ICON and so far I made a good choice. No buckle problems yet. Reviews of other boots mention broken buckles and plastic problems. I'm an older rider and probably won't put the miles on that the young guys do so these babies will last me a good long while. They fit great and look even better with the pants inside.

Alpinestar Scout Boots

They are very good, have been wearing them steady for a month or so and the clasps are beginning to loosen up and pop off, otherwise good boots.

Great boot

I have had these boots for a few weeks now and so far they are excellent. From 39 to 82 degrees they have been comfortable, neither too stiff or too soft. A great do all dual sport/adv waterproof boot. Excellent value.

Great boot

They are supportive without being too stiff. I wanted a buckle design because I thought they would be easier to get on and off and these fit the bill. I will say that getting the buckle to lock down can be a bit cumbersome but once it is locked you don't have to touch them until you take them off. The toe area is on the thick side. I had to adjust my shift lever to accommodate the new boots but it was well worth the effort.

Alpinestars Scout Boots

Good boots, good price point, good fit, quality seems good. Buckles take a little bit getting used to adjusting them. Boots are quite stiff when new and a little bulky around shifter and vague feel around shifter, but I'm sure as boots break in and soften a bit, they will be fine. Feel well protected in them. MC Superstore a pleasure to deal with. Have ordered many tires, brake pads, etc. from them. Good prices.

Awesome dual sport boots

I chose these boots because I wanted the protection of an MX boot with the flexibility of a street boot, & they delivered. They broke in quickly & were comfortable to walk in right out of the box. They stretch, so don't be afraid of a tight fit. Shifting isn't an issue & it didn't take long to get the hang of it.The buckle system isn't great but I haven't had any problems. They're waterproof as advertised, & keep my feet warm and dry. Overall a great boot that I definitely recommend.

Nice

I'm very picky about rider boots, cause I know how important a good boot is. Riding MX and hard long trail rides. Think of them as a light comfy MX boot. Looks good with pants and good to walk in unlike a pure MX boot. I use them when I ride my dorky KLR:) They are a good buy in my book:)

very nice dual sport boot

I like these boots a lot. They are a little shorter and much lighter than MX boots and more flexable as well. They are cut on the narrow side for my wide foot, but am doing well by adding a insole to a slightly larger boot. They seem to have ample protection for the trail riding I do. I would like one more buckle.

Great Boots

Fantastic boots. I have had them for three years and they still look like new save for the scratches on the buckles from a wee stack. All day comfortable. All leather! I have large calves and wide feet and these fit great.

Scout

Well made, well fitted and definitely waterproof. My only complaint is that they are hot, making it a three season boot for me. But that is to be expected with a boot that is truly waterproof. I wear 11 and Alpinestars idea of an 11 fits me perfectly. Now I'm looking for a waterproof boot for summer conditions - anyone have any suggestions?

Buckles

I like everything about these boots except the buckles. The bottom buckle on each boot is very hard to get to snap into place.

Very Good Boot

This boot is super-comfortable, lightweight and waterproof. The fit is excellent and it feels good to walk around in. Also, the cost of the boot is very low compared to the value you're getting. $249 for this much boot is a real bargain.
