O'Neal Racing

O'Neal Racing
Jim O’Neal was there when it all began. Off-road racing was just getting started in the late ‘60s when O’Neal was hitting the local hills and trails with his buddies. Dirt bikes didn’t exist as riders tried to adapt their street bikes, so racers needed better motorcycle parts, apparel, and accessories to compete. O’Neal started making motorcycle parts and modifying his motorcycle in his high school auto and metal shops, and in 1970, selling spare parts to local riders. Over four decades later, O’Neal racing gear, ATV gear, and accessories have become a dominant fixture in the off-road scene.

O'Neal continues to race in the Baja 500 in Mexico and now has eight class wins in six years, the longest consecutive race streak of any Baja 500 racer. Racing thousands of miles annually in Baja, the O’Neal motorcycle team members personally torture-test their gear. They often ride and race new gear for several years before approving it for production. O’Neal motocross also sponsors top riders, including Grant Langston, former AMA Motocross champion and champion of Supercross Lites for both the East Coast and West Coast. In freestyle, O’Neal Racing has sponsored Matt Buyten, the 2010 gold-medal winner in the X Games Moto X Step Up, and Lance Coury who took 1st in the 2009 AFMXA Pro-Am.
