Not quite quiet enough

These baffles were not as easy to install as we had hoped the would be. Had to take the heat shields off, what a pain. Definitely buy them when you buy the pipes. As far as being quieter, the trike is a little quieter with a deeper rumble than before. Before it had a slightly hollow sound and very loud. I would have liked it to be quieter than the baffles made it. If you are looking for touring motorcycle quite these are not the baffles for you.

Wasted money. Quiet doesn't mean quiet.

EASY INSTALL. But, I need to find a factory set-up. Can't find just mufflers for my straightshot set-up. Man are they still loud as hell. I'll try the cut and weld washers if I have to. Too old for this loud.

Easy Installation

Put in baffles after install of short shots. Very easy install, just remove heat shield, take old baffle out and add the quiet baffles. Exhaust is a lot quieter and runs like a champ. Very happy with the quiet baffles. Get them, well worth the money!

Still loud enough

Fairly easy install. Use care to get wrap to stay in position. Deeper sound! Can ride without earplugs, but still loud enough when you gig it or just need to get the attention of the car creeping into your lane.

Vance & Hines Quiet Baffles

Fitment was a little tight to get into the pipe, but once in place you know it will not rattle. Baffle is made well. I've seen a lot worse but again I've seen better. Installation is black and white. If you can't figure it out, you should not be working on your motorcycle. Baffles are a lot louder than stock, but nowhere as loud as the loud baffles. They are a good compromise. What most buyers don't realize is that this is a performance product, not a stock replacement. Good job Vance & Hines.

Awesome buy

Best buy for your V&H pipes. Before it was too loud. Now it's loud but decent loud. Much thicker, deeper and better noise output. Neighbors and my ears are much happier. I would wear an ear plug in one ear for long distance ride at 65 mph. A must buy!

helps some

We had to get short pipes to clear the new rear end for the trike we built from a kit. The baffles that come in the pipes were very loud and didn't provide enough back pressure. These quite baffles did make it somewhat quieter and provided the needed back pressure. Be sure to order (2) of these since there sold as a unit of 1. One of the baffles was defective and wouldn't fit in the pipe so I had to order a replacement which they shipped for free.

The un-quiet baffle

Waste of money, doesn't quiet the pipes down AT ALL. Save your money. V&H shouldn't be peddling failed attempts at products, if they wanted to design a quiet baffle option for those that desire it, then there are plenty of examples out there to be emulated. Do yourself a favor and pass on these.

Much Better Than Stock

My Fat Bob has more power at lower RPM with these baffles and the sound is quieter, but still lots loud enough. The stock baffles were crazy loud. Buy them before you install the pipes if you can, because the install is basically like re-installing the pipes.

Love my Short Shots

Factory mufflers that came on my Aniv. Sportster made it sound like a 5 HP Briggs and Stratton. Now it sounds like a Harley should - loud but not obnoxous. Easy install - about an hour for the mufflers and another 1/2 hour for heat shields. Great quality also.

Great

Installed these a couple weeks after installing Shortshots. Stock shortshots where a little to loud for me. Almost straight pipe loud. These are great. Still great sound both at idle and when on it. Easiest to install with pipes but manageable after.

Very pleased

I was dreading the installation, but turns out I did not have to remove pipes to install these. A bit tricky to get seated right, though. Took about an hour to do both. The sound is still loud but not obnoxious loud. Deep and throaty without the high shrill overtone. Also less popping on decel. I haven't noticed a performance boost but that's not what I was after anyway.

Installation was horrible!

This first and most important: Buy these baffles when you purchase the pipes! Once the pipes are installed they are terribly difficult to install. Next, they are only a tiny bit quieter. I still wear ear plugs when riding. Lastly, even though they are only a bit more quiet they are necessary as the stock baffles are ridiculously loud. These baffles also add noticeable torque in the lower powerband.

Baffles are great

Way quieter at idle and for a few days basically everywhere. Once you break them in a couple days, they are certainly loud enough on the road, but not so redneck loud, and they stay way quieter at idle. Some say you get a little more power too, it's possible, it felt like there was a little more pull to it, but I'm not really sure.
