    Sportech Cranker Tank Bag

The Cranker tank bag just might be the most innovative piece of moto luggage ever strapped to a bike! This one-of-a-kind tank bag is designed to provide music while you ride, as well as a place to carry your essential supplies- like your keys, wallet, sunglasses, or gloves. And with the Cranker’s integrated amplifier, speaker and MP3 capability you can listen to your favorite tunes while on the road at highway speeds.

Through a unique manufacturing process, Sportech was able to design a bag that actually compliments the styling of today’s hottest sport bikes. Unlike traditional soft tank bags, the molded EVA chassis allows the bag to maintain its shape- even when empty. And though there is ample room for the things you need, careful consideration was given to maintain a sleek, unobtrusive profile that visually compliments the lines of the bike and doesn’t interfere with rider operation.

The integrated sound system can be powered by the included quick-connect lead that attaches directly to your bike’s battery or by 4AA batteries loaded into the amp itself. Three high-powered magnets hold the Cranker securely in place on most tanks. Optional straps are included for bikes with plastic tanks which can pull double duty as shoulder straps for those rare occasions when you find yourself away from your bike.

    Features:
    • Patent pending
    • Internal compartments
    • Integrated weather cover that can be deployed in seconds
    • Rubberized backing for a sure grip that won’t scratch your tank
    • Integrated amplifier and speaker- tuned specifically to be heard while riding at highway speeds
    • Dimensions: 15 x 9 x 4 1/2

    nice thought but...

This bag looks well designed, but fits rather poorly on cruisers. The sound quality is poor, on my bikes, and I do have baffles on my pipe. The sound is generally tinny, for lack of a better word. After the second time I strapped it to my bike, the strap points on the bag started fraying. It has room, for a cell phone and not much else. Overall, invest in something better.

    Is there nothing better?

This thing is ok, but audio quality at higher volumes is deplorable. If you're going 25 mph in the city, you can get decent sound at lower volumes. Otherwise, forget it. Also, the speaker is just sitting in a large enclosure, not attached to anything, thus it can bounce around and get out of position. I'd pay more for something better.

    I'm a fan

I like the Cranker Tank Bag. Easy to carry around and has a great speaker attached to it. The only problem is, if you go more than 60mph, you can't hear crap, which limits the frequency of use.

    Sportech Cranker Tank Bag

I was worried at first after reading some reviews that the speaker wasn't loud enough, but I am satisfied with the volume. I can hear it when I'm riding around the city, the only time I can't is when I'm on the highway doing 70 surrounded by cars. The magnetic pads are convenient because I can just take it off when I'm not using it. I just wish it had an external volume control as opposed to the internal one it has which you can’t reach while riding.

    nice piece

I've had my Cranker for a little over a month now. First, if you're going to get it you need to connect it to your battery . It can run on batteries, but the sound quality is significant between the batteries and wired to the bike. I've used the rain cover twice and it works nicely. As far as audible at highway speeds...Well I can hear it up to @70mph, Overall I like it, I can wear leathers and have a place for my phone and wallet . It would be perfect if it had a more powerful speaker.

    nice for the $$

I liked the product when I saw it at home after it arrived. The rain protection little cover stored inside got unsewn as soon as i attempted to test it right after i opened the shipping box. I imagine it was defective and not well-sewn to begin with. Other than that, the bag is very well finished. As for the sound, I am using it on a new V-Strom 650 and, depending on the kind of helmet I am wearing; I get more or less juice riding around town. Once you get over 50 mph or so, I have not been able to hear a note of music, but around town, and especially when not using a helmet, it's a nice gadget to have. I had the volume on my MP3 at 20/25 and on the amplifier inside at its max setting. I have not tried connecting it to the battery, so i don't know whether that would make a difference in terms of loudness. I think the bag could benefit from having one of those quick-outlet deals for those bikes that come with it, quite a few these days. My V-Strom does not have one, but my Burgman does, ... it'd be a different story to find a place for this music bag to go on the Burgman, but it's an idea worth brainstorming over. Moreover, I think a couple of magnets more in strategic spots of the bag would not hurt. All in all, for about $150, I rate it as a good buy and worth the money .... I figure for riders with a full-fairing or a real wide one, the claim of 'audible at highway speeds' could be realistic, ... otherwise it's really not. Again, a nice product but with some limitations.

    Cranker up

This bag is excellent. No more earbuds, and no more wires dangling. The speakers on the cranker bag puts out plenty of volume to be heard over the pipes. I hooked mine to the battery (cable included) and now all I have to do is plug and go. The storage is minimal but enough to put a drink, cell phone, wallet and a few other items inside. The only thing I do not like is you can't turn down the volume without removing your mp3 device and the magnets could be a little bit stronger. It does come with straps to tie the thing down or to put on your back, but who wants that. Otherwise, an excellent investment.

    Cranker Tank Bag

The Cranker tank bag is great for around-town listening. I wish it was louder. Don't expect to hear it over 60 MPH on the highway.
