Bridgestone BT-090 Battlax High Performance Rear Tire

Refined by using the latest technologies from Bridgestone, the BT-090 is perfect for aggressive riding on both circuit and street. The rigidity of the tire induces better contact feel in corners, especially for slide control during races. The new compound and pattern offer improved grip and handling in both wet and dry conditions, with better high speed stability and anti-shimmy performance ensuring a smooth ride.

  • High grip compound for middle-size class motorcycles
  • Maintains high grip level from start to finish regardless of the temperature
  • The unique pattern design optimizes both vertical and horizontal rigidity of the tire. Less grooves on the tread edge for better dry grip and machine control in corner, and more grooves in the center area for better wet performance
  • Higher rigidity in sidewall area increases the grip in corners
  • Better slide control for easier "line" tracing
  • Improved high speed stability and anti shimmy for better street-riding performance

WR250X

This tire is factory on my WR250X. I only got about 5,700 miles on the tire. I ride some dirt but mostly commute on them. Good for all use just not mud (duh). Didn't purchase again, but wouldn't tell somebody else wise.

It's a RACE tire folks

The tire has been re-purposed by Bridgestone to be a street'ish tire. But I raced 3 seasons on these tires (GS500e). They are fantastic SV650/Ninja650 track/race tires and absolutely perfect for Supermotard as well. The compound isn't intended to last very long on street duty unless you're a light rider on a light bike and even then...

Stock KTM690 tire

I had this as the stock tire on my KTM690. I think it went around 3000 mi. on the front. The rear was 2000 mi. This is typical of the bike from my experience. The Conti supermoto tire that replaced it did about the same distance, but was not as good. I went with bridgestones again when the contis gave up. I went with a 002 front and a 016 rear just because I already had them.

5800 miles on first tire. This tire is second to none. My WR250X would not be as fun without this confidence inspiring tire!

Excellent

I have about 600 miles on mine now. Used as stock replacement for an IRC roadwinner on a supermoto bike. The grip is absolutely outstanding with this tire, love laying down on tight turns and freeway ramps. Tracks nicely. I also like that the tread design doesn't have cuts through the exact center of the tire, which should help with straight-riding wear. Overall I would recommend this tire, it is great for both cruising and being a hooligan here and there.

3500 Miles

I have a KTM 690SM and this is also my stock tire. I agree the traction and handling is 2nd to none. The problem seems to be as the first review stated, Mileage!! I do use these as "highway tires". I commute 15 miles each way to work and I'm lucky to get 3500 miles on a rear. The front has lasted 6500+ and still looking good and no, I am not doing wheelies or burnouts. I have had these on a track day and WOW they Grip like glue to the track. Each lap I was pushing it harder and harder and never felt unstable (even on a heavy SM like the 690). All in all I will continue to buy the tire because the price is around $50 less than others so for that reason I can live with getting 3500 miles on a rear. Great tire, now if I could only get another 2K out of it.

A Great All-Around Tire.

This is the stock rear-tire for the Yamaha WR250X Supermoto. I got over 5000 miles out of my first one and am over 2000 miles into my second one. It handles well in both wet and dry conditions and it is very stable. The BT-090 has very predictable traction and can take the punishment of aggressive cornering. This is surprising due to the relative hardness of the rubber. This tire is not made for extended cruising on interstates (for half an hour or more) at speeds greater than 65mph. While it is very stable and comfortable at speeds up to 90+ mph, it wears quickly at these speeds and you start to see the rubber melting and shredding. Riding in these conditions will drastically shorten the life of the tire. All in all, I am very pleased with this tire. It gets me to and from work and lets me fly through the twisties on the weekends without eating my wallet.
