    Shinko Worth the Buck

I just put this tire on the front of my 650 V-Strom and rode to the mountains in NC. Grips great on the curves "The Dragon" and many more curvy roads. Also did very good on the gravel Forest Fire roads. I'll replace my rear Avon tire with a cheaper Shinko Rear when needed.

I replaced my stock universal type front tire with the Shinko 705 to match the rear that I replaced earlier in the year. They handle great and I ride in all weather. Very satisfied with the tires and the shipping was fast as I had my tire the next day.

Ready to buy my 3rd rear. This spring I bought my first rear and I put 3,500 miles on it and still had another 1,000 or so left in it. That tire was around town and forest roads. Mounted a 2nd front and rear for a trip to UT from VT 4,700 miles RT. Now that I'm back home I've put another 1,000 on it. I'd say 5,000 miles is a good average. Great at interstate speed or on the twistys and forest roads they kick arse. Be forwarned though, they suck in the mud and the front washes out on loose gravel. Overall big thumbs up!

The last time for my GS.

Complaint, ROAD NOISE. These are loud and rough tires. I had to replace them with mileage left on them because the tire began to what I call delaminate where the tread actually separates at the base of the tire. I also noticed the vibration transferring to the hand grips. It actually made the bars move side to side at parking lot speeds. The new tires began producing road noise almost immediately. I've put 2,000 miles on it since June and it's only gotten worse. Best feature: price. Worth it?

    So far, so good!

Haven't had these tires on the bike long, but they inspire confidence in corners and offer a stable ride. Longevity has yet to be displayed so don't take the 5 star tread life for gospel yet.

    Great Deal, Great Tire

On my third set and will buy again. Get about 6k miles on rear, 8k miles on front. I commute on freeway as well as mountain roads, and occasionally dirt fire roads for fun. These tires have not let me down.

    Kicks Asphalt, Sucks Mud

These tires are rated 80% x 20% but I say more like 98% x 2%. I replaced Shinko 244 front and Michelin T63 rear. They are AWESOME on (dry) pavement! Very smooth and predictable made my DR350SE a cornering machine. But anything but dry pavement they are downright scary! Cakey mud is like marbles, wet anything is sketchy. The rear tire tread is already peeling at 300 miles. Price is great but save your money another week or two. I hate posting negative reviews but thats what I've got.

    Very Good Tires

Just can't beat the price! Wonderful traction and cornering control. Notice a little more vibration when compared to the stock Dunlop. Had not a chance to test on wet surfaces since it seldom rains in Phoenix.

Vast improvement over stock, especially for the cost. That being said...avoid green grass and clay at all costs!!! They work very nicely everywhere else. 500 miles so far and no signs of wear several rides in pouring rain with no loss of confidence. I will purchase these again.

    good tire, great price. price

Had the front tire on about a month now. About the same performance as the Metzler Saharas I used to use and almost a third the price! The corners will tell but so far so good.

    Awsome Bang for the Buck

Ive only had the tires on for 2 weeks, but so far I LOVE them. Ive done a 250 mile Adv. ride 50/50 steet and dirt. Excellen t cornering and excellent handling, wet, dry, mud, gravel, loose rocks. The only terrain I didnt hit was sand. Of course the mileage is the only thing I cant comment on. But 2 Thumbs up to SHINKO 705 E, a very well designed tire.

    Good tire for the money

Many friends with dual sports use them, so I am about to mount them on my DR650. However, I have ridden friends' DR650's with Shinkos and they are clearly an improvement over the Trail Wings that come with the bike.

    big difference over stock

Just installed it today and took it out for a spin, right into a dust storm. Even in the gusts, it felt so much more stable than the 15 year old original had with 2k miles on it. And the Shinko isn't even broken in yet! I'm one happy camper so far. 1998 KLR 650. Had to keep the tube in it.
