AGV K3 Helmet

Grouped in the bottom level of motorcycle helmets due to its price, the AGV K3 has theoretically been doomed to a life of blandness and mediocrity. And yet, unsurprisingly, that’s not how AGV does things. Copying the styling from the uber-high end GP-Tech, the K3 is not only endowed with great looks, but also features refined aerodynamics. Tough with minimal weight, the thermoplastic shell makes use of a comfy liner with effective venting. Whether the money dictates a cheaper helmet or you just like to save, the AGV K3 is a helmet that has proven its worth many times over in the world of motorcycling.

Features:
  • Painted HIR-TH (high resistant thermoplastic) resin shell
  • Ventilation through front air intakes and rear extractors
  • Dry-Lex liner padding is removable and washable (excluding neckroll)
  • Number of shells: 1 shell size
  • Street 8 clear face shield is anti-scratch and anti-fog polycarbonate
  • XQRS (Extra Quick Release System) allows for fast, tool-less face shield replacement with perimetrical visor seal

Decent

Good for price. Looks sharp. Fit is a little weird, but that could just be me. Face shield opens on occasion on freeway when I turn my head to clear a lane. Not fun.

My Black Stig Helmet

I have loved the look of this helmet since I saw it, and when it arrived in the mail two years ago, it looked even cooler in person. Good helmet.

Good overall, missing some points.

Good helmet overall. Washable liner is good, easy shield removal and placement. It came with a ratcheting system, which is the best thing Ive ever seen on a helmet. Main complaints- Lost the chin wind deflector within first week, took it off and forgot it was in my pocket and it flew out. My fault, but I took it off because I wasnt 100% sure about its security. 8$ to replace. Wind shield pops open very often when shoulder checking in changing lanes.

pretty satisfied

First time trying agv. Most appealing is the removable liners and cheek pads so they can be washed. Nice fit for my weird head. Well designed especially the airflow vents. The chin attachment at the base of the helmet is not thought out, doesn't stay on very well so I leave it off, creates ill more circulation but it’s nice when it’s hot. Overall pretty satisfied can’t beat price

AGV K3 helmet

Did not fit. Used the sizing chart, had my wife wrap the measuring tape around my head and when the helmet arrived here did not fit. I had to pay for the return of the helmet to the Superstore, I know the return policy on this matter and it stinks. The helmet was at least two sizes to small, never buy a helmet online, get on the bike and go to a local store and buy one that fits. On the positive side the order processing and delivery to the door step was fast

Sweet Helmet

The helmet is very clean. Fits a little tight at first but you definitely have to break it in. Air flow is good for me and not much noise at high speeds. The visor is easy to put up & down and doesn't fog up at stops which is great.

K3 Helmet

I wanted something that was sharp looking and comfortable, and the K3 works great for that. There is plenty of air flow but I have noticed that it gets really hot when stopped. Something that I was very surprised about was the quick release system for the visors. It was a much easier system to use than other helmets. Overall I am very happy with the K3 even though it was a little expensive

Fit, Looks and Quality

First helmet for my first bike. Tried on a few others but just liked how the AGV fit around the front of my head. Didn't feel tight but I knew it wasn't coming off. Great price for such a quality helmet and what stuns me most is how good it looks. Got a blue shield and it really looks like a $400+ helmet. Thanks Motorcycle Superstore for the great selection and fast shipping.

Overall good deal!

Overall a very nice quality helmet with good fit. Padding is removable and washable, and is pretty comfortable. May be a little bit tight around the ears, especially if you have a rounder head, but it's not really an issue at least for 2-3 hour rides. Also keep in mind that the helmet will loosen up a little bit after about a month or so. Airflow is good - lower vent is very good and upper vents are ok. There is a mesh chin guard (which comes out pretty easily if you pull on it) which is supposed to help block out wind but it doesn't seem to do a very good job. Unless I tuck my fleece neck gaiter under the strap and into the helmet, there is always an updraft. This is fine for the summer, but is very annoying at 40F. The visor is anti-fog coated, moves nicely, and is easily removable. At least for my helmet though, putting the visor back on can be a bit difficult because the clip on one side just does not want to click in sometimes. The anti-fogging works ok I guess, but in very cold weather, it will still have a lot of condensation. I contacted AGV about this and they didn't really explain how it might have happened, but promptly replaced the visor free of charge. Overall it's a pretty nice helmet. I have no problem with it despite some of the minor annoyances.

Dangerous visor problems

I've owned a K3 for 1.5 years, and I'm ready to get rid of it. The positives first. The K3 is a sharp looking helmet. It flows a lot of air, which is great in 90+ weather. It's pretty light weight too. The negatives: This helmet has a serious design flaw: When you do a shoulder check at highway speeds the visor opens up. This is jarring, and causes one's head to shake. Another problem is that the included chin insert is flimsy. Mine fell out after two rides, never to be seen again. The air flow makes this a very noisy helmet, and a rather leaky one in all but the lightest rain. I would not buy this helmet again.

Bug-eyed

After owning this helmet for a year now I can confidently say that I have only one knock against it. It has a great fit, it's a good value, the air flow is top notch, I am complemented on its looks often, but at the end of the day when you have the mouth vent open you are surly gonna end up with bugs, sand, or dirt in your eyes. Thankfully the airflow doesn't suffer too bad when the vent is closed. This is a great helmet you just have to be aware of what you're facing in the air ahead.

First Helmet and Glad it is

I am a new rider and value for me is key. This helmet fit that bill. It meets the DOT standards with style. Looks matter, no matter what anyone says.
