TAG Rider Los Angeles,  CA the price of security... As an apartment-dweller with an un-gated carport, the safety concerns I have about my new sport bike led me to purchase the 5ft version of this chain. While it is cost-prohibitive, the security it provides is top notch. With this chain, I am more concerned about someone removing my wheel or cutting through the wrought iron fence I chain my bike to than them getting past the lock, etc. Downsides are cost, weight (I strongly recommend against trying to ride with it), and length. I think the length is great for garage use where your bike can be pulled right up to a fixed object, but if you're parking on the street and trying to lock the rear wheel to a pole then it had better be small radius and right next to the curb.

Hunter Lake Forest Park,  WA Safe I feel like nothing can scratch this thing. Looks good and works well. Is heavy but I don't want a light, weak chain anyways. It is a good buy.

carl cappo Miami,  FL Forget About It, YO! If you want and can afford the best lock and chain for your bike, scooter or whatever you want to keep, get this product. I have had two of these in the past. The chain got stolen before my scooter did! Kryptonite will replace your keys if you ever lose them, (record the number). The Bully lock is cheaper but I love Krypto Products. The drawbacks are this chain is heavy and a grinder can cut through it in about 17 minutes. (I've read-never tried)

james worcester,  MA Just what I needed I use this lock for a motor scooter and it's just what I needed. I live in a big city, so I was worried about my bike getting stolen, but with this thing, it's not happening. Now I just lock up the bike and not have to worry about a thing. The lock is big though. I use it for overnight parking and bought another cable lock (from MS) for short term parking around town. The lock itself is very smooth and has the feel of quality. Sure, it's pricy but worth every penny.

Paul Werenko Santa Fe,  NM Kryptonite Lock Great to have when you need it but you should know that it is very heavy. I would not have left my BMW R1200GS in the neighborhood in NYC that I did without this lock. The longer chain is great for locking a rear wheel to the frame or the bike to a post. If you need to sleep, get this setup. But be aware of the weight.

brad somerset,  KY this thing is tough! I knew exactly which box this baby was in when I got it because it was pretty heavy. Actually I would say its 10-15 lbs maybe. I thought I would have my bike already but I ended up having to wait a few more months so I haven't tested it out yet. But I’m sure it'll fair pretty well. If someone was going to try to get through this thing it would take them a while, unless they picked the lock, but still it would be quicker if they just hauled the bike off. But even that would be tough if you have disc brake locks and a chain restricting movement of both wheels. Since I had to wait for my bike I ended up putting this big ass chain on my weight bar. It works well there too. I would definitely recommend this one to friends and others who want to keep their bike well protected from scumbags. Don’t handle this chain too much as it contains lead. (It tells about this on the tag).

puget marco Seattle,  WA This bike is MINE!!! I'm using the NY Fahgettaboudit 5 foot chain to keep evil doers away from my bicycle at work. I commute to a downtown office tower and there are tons of people always going back and forth. This lock is long enough to grab the front wheel, frame, rear wheel and building's bike rack. I can leave my expensive bicycle confident it will be waiting for me when I leave work. It is god-awful heavy, so it lives in my office building. I suppose one could carry such a chain / lock on a motorcycle, but I can't imagine why one would bother with a 5 footer - the shorter would be perfectly fine for my motorbike.

ben collins los angeles,  CA Impressive While I am sure that the chain and lock are pretty impervious. My only reservation is that it is too heavy and bulky to carry around easily unless you have saddlebags. There is no way this goes into a backpack.
