To be honest, I haven't really used the deflector much at this point. I am 6'4” and about 215lbs, so I ordered the XL, and it is small on me to say the least and although it is meant to be tight, it is kind of ridiculous. Good for bush riding and maybe light abrasion if you come off. But no where near a hard body amour.
