Good Protection, Hard on the Shins
Really great protection to both the front and sides of the knee even when bent at 90+ degrees. They are a big guard, I fit the large size nicely at 6'3" and 250lbs. The problem is that when you straighten your leg the lower plate digs into your shin bone since the hinge does not allow for a completely strait leg. Very painful, even with a knee sock. I love the fit and protection but I wouldn't buy them again.

Not too good for the price
I didn´t like that when you stand up it´s uncomfortable because the knee brace dosn´t bend back to the straight position.

Knee guards
This is my first experience using strap on knee pads. I found the Alpinestars comfortable and really not noticeable while riding. You will definitely want to use a tall sock or some other type of cloth protection between your skin and the guards, unless you like having your skin sandpapered with the velcro straps. Overall, they seem to fit pretty well and do what knee pads are supposed to do.

Perfect!
The fit is so good I keep them on in the house! The hinged knee joint is cool, but makes a clicking when you walk sometimes, which aint a problem. I have high engineer boots and these strap on right above them with two strong velcro straps. I ride a cruiser street only and yes- these do feel bionic! People notice the metal first as it catches the light, then they see how the hinge works and impressed they are! I recomend these for every activity indoors and out. I'm 5'5" but these should fit 4'tall to 7'tall, very versatile unless your thigh is 2' wide.

How to keep them up?
I tried the Adult large (I'm 5'8, 150lbs) and they wouldn't stay in position. No matter how tight I put the velcro, after a few steps, the rode down my leg. However the finish and quality seemed pretty good although I never rode in them. Good knee coverage front and sides.

Bionic Knee Guard
A very well made product, but it is too large to fit under the pants, and when used on the outside, it scratches the finish on the bike. I would not recommend it.

Alpine Bionic Knee Guard
I am very glad that I have purchased this knee guard. It gave me the protection I needed when the front wheel of my dirt bike washed out on gravel on a fast corner. I did not have the time to even put my foot down. I went down sideways still sitting on the bike, and the front and side protection of this knee guard was excellent! I use these knee guards over my pants, and they worked very, very well. Not even the pants got a scratch. I was going about 25-30 mph, and my left knee hit the dirt on i

I like them a lot. I wore them on the spring Trans American Trail ride, over 1500 miles. They are comfortable and easy to wear.

knee pads
I don't know how anyone can wear these without a knee sock, they'll rub your legs raw, however putting them on over your pants seems to be the best way to keep them from moving around. they do offer the ultimate in protection, however upon my first fall on some rocky terrain the bottom portion broke into two pieces but my knee stayed intact. So, do they do there job? Yes. Are they durable? No.
