I do cross country and because of rocks etc I got these. I feel safe and they have definitely protected me in a few falls but they limit movement after a while because of their bulk and I can never get the left one in the right position for comfort. I also find the straps cut around the back of the knee.

Spend your money on something else
These did not fit me well at all. They do not stay in place. They constantly migrate down my leg and out of correct position making bending my knee much more difficult than it should be. Any attempt to tighten the straps resulted in them roping on the backs of my leg. First ride out, I had an "easy" fall off of a slippery root and busted two of the plastic rivets out.

Nice fitting & good protection. My only problem is the plastic rivets for the hinges. I landed reasonably hard & popped the rivets in the right knee. My knees were well protected, but after putting it back together it won't survive longer than an hours riding anymore (the plastic rivets pops out on the right knee).
