Bought my DS back in Feb 12. Sent a review then. Now 9 months of wear and I couldn't be happier. This has become my favorite helmet. The more I wear it the better it fits and feels. Glass' fit now that the liner is broken in. The only nit is it fogs easily when first starting out on cold mornings. I'd recommend this helmet to anyone.

I have had the helmet for two weeks now with 4 rides. It has been great. For me the size and fit were great, air flow was good and the flip up shield works great. The only problem is a distortion with the shield, not terrible but the potholes and boulders can catch you. Lid looks great!!!

From the looks of it this is a good helmet for the price. The fit is great and the quality seems very good. But once I put it on I realized that it is very large. It fits my small head but the helmets outside dimensions are HUGE. I look like a bobble-head. Good quality, nice graphics but I am sending it back because my head looks like an inflated balloon.

I opened the box and I thought someone was playing a joke on me (I wish); the helmet had so many flaws in the decal and the inside ear pieces didn't fit. And the shield was distorted. By the way, I ordered a new shield and you need a masters degree to get it to work - STAY AWAY FROM THIS HELMET.

So I don't know anything about the features, air flow or cost benefit but I ordered it because it looks great and I’ve enjoyed my other afx helmets. However the fit of this helmet is horrible, I own an afx fx-17 size 4XL and love it to death so I ordered the 39 DS in 4XL and it's over 1 cm smaller at the mouth. Also they apparently forgot to add a space for your ears and if you wear glasses like I do don't even think about it. The FX-17 however accommodates both ears and glasses wonderfully.

This helmet is great. I needed a full face helmet that did not sacrifice the style I wanted for my DR350. Very sleek. Fit is nice. Only issue I've had is that my glasses do not rest on my nose. Played around a little with the pads and now they are fine.

I wanted a full helmet. This fits great and doesn't have as much road noise as some more expensive helmets I've had. First thing I did was wash the interior parts. Really helps soften the cheek pads. I've had no "hot spots" even after 6 hours of wear. Only nit I have is my sun glass' don't ride on my nose. They're just touching. But then that may be a good thing. They do stay in place just not fully seated. Overall it has been a worthwhile purchase.

This is the second DS-39 I have purchased. Great helmet for cheap. Runs a little large, but the size charts seem to be accurate. Air flow is adequate but not exceptional. I like to ride with goggles off-road and they fit in the face opening with no problem. Helmet feels light and is comfortable after a short break-in. I don't have any problems with the visor catching the wind at highway speeds, which was a concern for me initially. Who knows, maybe I'll by a third one!

This is one of the finest helmets that I own. It's great looking, fits great, has outstanding ventilation and even with the visor, it is relatively quiet even at high speeds. At any price this helmet is a must for dual sport and adventure rides. Bravo to AFX!
