Great helmet at a great price
I saw this helmet reviewed favorably elsewhere, and when I needed a helmet for the street and trail I ordered this one. I have a gigantic head (xxxl in an arai), and this helmet fits me perfectly in that size. It's ridiculously light, and has great ventilation. The peak is a little weird at speed but this is the first "dirt" helmet I've had, so I'm assuming that's par for the course. I like this helmet a lot.

Not for real trail use
I bought the AX8 for winter riding, mostly for the weather protection. I find its easier to wipe snow off a full shield compared to mx goggles. All the vents sound nice, but I still have a major fogging problem at low speeds. If you are adventure touring, or riding on the street, this is a great helmet. But for low speed trail thumping, it fogs up too fast, even with the nose guard. The fitment is great though, very comfortable, without any break-in period.

AGV AX-8 DS Helmet
I had to return the helmet due to its being a little small for me....I have a 65mm head measurement but it seems most manufacturers helmets run small. I wish they would get their act together and provide helmets that are true to the sizing charts. I have had a problem all my life with this and it pisses me off that I can't get the latest in technology for helmets in my size. Yeah I know Bell make xxxl helmets but that is 1) a car helmet and 2) ancient technology and 3) ancient style.... HJC makes XXXL too but again not available in a DS model in the USA. Arai makes a XXXL street helmet but slightly small for me...Shoei makes the RF1100 in XXXL and it fits therefore I own one. However it is only available in solid colors. At least it fits. Surely there are many others out there with my problem. I wish just one manufacturer would step up and be the "go to guys" for us with XXXL melons!!! Perhaps you large distributors would have enough clout to get a manufacturer to move in this direction??? I would have loved the AX-8 helmet had it been just a wee bit larger....nice quality and it seemed the head shape would have been just right had it been larger.
