mjames tavernier,  FL Sidi boots After looking at several boots for trail riding for an old guy, needed waterproofing and durability and comfort. After adding a good insole like Dr. Schoal’s the fit is great and the feel is awesome. Had two pair of good boots before but needed waterproofing, the Sidi's I had before are street boots that held up for a year and a half and the Gaerne boots were lower priced boots that didn’t provide the waterproofing, although they’re better. I would give these Sidis a 10 with an insole.

Mark Deming,  NM A Quality Dual Sport and ATV Boot First I want to say that I have not tested the durability of these boots enough to really rate my experience with them so I gave them a 4 out of 5 at this time. I have had lots of experience with SIDI's line of mountian bike shoes and they are some of the best so it's no surprise that the quality of their motorcycle boots is no different. Having said that I already knew the size that I would need which is a 43 EUR. Normally I wear a wide shoe and SIDI does not offer that in this line of boots, however, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the 43 fit well. A little break-in was required but after such time the boots fit just fine and are very comfortable. Top quality materials. Primarily I bought these boots for ATV riding and I needed to have a boot that I could walk or run in, if necessary, and these offer the right combination of flexibility and protection to make that happen. This boot is the perfect compromise for someone looking for a boot that offers the comfort of a walking shoe without all the armor of a full out motocross boot and for someone who will not compromise on quality.

Wellborn Shreveport,  LA The perfect dual sport boot for me I ride a BMW dual sport G650GS on steep, twisty, gravel and rock trails and roads in the Ouachita and Ozark mountains of Arkansas. This is the perfect dual sport boot for me. Descriptive words and phrases that come readily to mind: beautiful, protective, comfortable, firmly supportive yet flexible, and worth the money and the required breaking in. Fit, finish and support are suggestive of high end mountaineering or telemark boots -- all of which require some degree of "breaking in" and getting accustomed to. Weight is relatively light, considering the high degree of protection offered. Buckles are the very best I've ever had on any boot and offer a wide range of easy adjustment. Overall, a very thoughtfully designed and well constructed boot.

Kyle Brattleboro,  VT Discovery Rain boots The boots are of high quality typical of italian brands. I have narrow feet and the boots were too spacious without an after market insole. I used higher end insolde with a high arch and heat moldable. Since then, the boots have been used on several long rides, ranging from 26-90 dgrees F, and the boots have been perfect. No wet feet yet, but haven't put them through much water. They are stiff enough to spend hours standing up on more difficult terrain, but felixible enough to be able to walk around your destination comfortably. The trials sole is very grippy, aswell. I bought these boots based of the previous revious and long distance enduro riding which I do. Comfort wise, I wish I could wear them everyday, they're really awesome boots. If you go to the sidi website, they have a video description of them, might be more helpful.

Don casper,  WY Sidi Discovery Boots So far I am very pleased with the boots. I wear a size 12(US) and ordered the larger size(47). The boots do not come with insoles and by adding a set the fit and feel improved greatly.

Speedster Helena,  MT Sidi Discovery Rain I needed a waterproof boot with traction for my dual-sport rides. The only boot I found that fit the bill is the Sidi Discovery. My biggest concern was the fit. I have Alpinestars Tech 8's for my motocross days, Icon Field Armor boots for warm, dry street and dual-sport days. Both of those have US sizing and I wear a 12 in each. With Euro sizing on the Sidi's, I wasn't sure which size, I tried on another model of Sidi at a local store, but was kind of in between sizes, so I didn’t' know what to get for sure in the Discovery. I ended up with the smaller size than what their size conversion shows-a size 46 which is an 11.5. It is the right size, if not a little big. These seem to be pretty good boots, quality-wise, but they don't fit my average dimension foot that well. Both my Tech 8 and especially my Icon boots fit much better all the way around. With the Sidi, the heel seems big. I couldn't get another insole in without cramming my toes in the front of the boot. There is enough room in them, that if I were to kick the front of the boot into something when riding, my foot would slide all the way to the front and risk hurting my toes against the inside of the boot. I can't go down a size, as the length is correct. I may end up trying a 3/4 length insole to fill up the room. They work ok, but I have had much better fitting shoes. In fact, if there was a similar alternative, I probably would have returned these. As far as function goes, they do work well, I haven't gotten to try out their waterproof claims yet, but the buckles are good quality. I prefer a stiffer more supportive boot, but it seems to be adequate, any stiffer, and somebody that isn't used to a motocross boot would probably not like it. I prefer more ankle support. The sole seems to grip well, but the steel toe bumper is slippery as that is the last contact point as you are walking. I would suggest taking the toe bumper off-so it doesn't damage floors, and you don't slip. I have another friend that has these too, and you can see that the leather has had the dye/surface crack and "chip" off. I don't know how much he has worn his, but I would suspect they all will do that, it doesn't feel like full-grain leather, it is most likely split grain leather. Overall, they are a good boot, especially for my intended use of dual-sport riding. I wouldn't use them for rough off-road riding; they don't fit me well enough or have enough protection for that. I just really wish they fit me better. I would suggest you try them on first to make sure it would work for you.

Ruby Calgary,  AB 130,000km with same Boot My Husband and I both bought this SIDI boot in 2005, have since done 6months riding on two (2) 1200GS through the Middle East & Eastern Europe. Followed by one (1) year around Africa, 32 countries, 68,000km all with this boot. No failures at all. Retired them now and will buy a new set for the Russia trip.

Brian Tomball,  TX Sidi Discovery Just completed the first half of the Continental Divide Trail with a brand new pair of Discoveries, about 1200 miles. Excellent boots. Quick break-in, good traction in the New Mexico mud (saved a few drops), dry in heavy rain and stream crossings. Nice stiff sole for standing on the pegs and very comfortable. Seem to provide good protection against injury without the overkill of moto-cross boots. Minor complaint: toe guards a little slippery if you're not flat footed on the bike, but I got used to it. Worth every penny, recommend to anyone.

Noah Nashville,  TN Great Boots... I bought these boots based on the reviews on this page. I am thoroughly impressed. I wanted a boot that was appropriate for my dual purpose riding. These fit the bill perfectly. They're not a supper high boot and they're not too bulky for my shift lever. They're comfortable to walk around in as well. Takes 4 or 5 hours of wear to get the break in process going. Great fit and finish.... good quality boot. Expensive...... But worth it.

Keith Rosendahl Sun City,  CA Sidi-Discovery Rain Boots Have had my Sidi Discovery Rain Boots for a little over 1 month now. Wearing a size 12 1/2 (47) I was worried about the fit. My last boots, also Sidi were a great fit at size 47 but were a little big after break in and required an aftermarket insole. I figured the sizing would be the same. The Discovery boots were just a tad smaller and required a little break in, about 4-5 days of use. Now they are a perfect fit, and no more insoles. I could walk in them for several hours if need be, very comfortable. Right now I'd say these boots are top notch and if they are anything like my last pair of Sidi Boots they will last several years.

Frank Austin,  TX Sidi Disco's I’ve them for about 4 weeks and 500 miles. They are still far from broken in but they get better by the mile. I normally wear a size 12.5 or even 13 for my running shoes but the Sidi’s 12.5 are a bit on the large side, however, since they don’t come with any arch support, the extra room is more than welcome for an insole. I took them to the next Sports store and tried on a few, they are much more comfortable with a gel insole. Getting in and out is very easy, 3 buckles and a bit of Velcro. They are not very bulky, I can easily wear them under my riding pants and even boot cut jeans. All in all I’m very happy. Have not ridden in the rain yet so I don’t know how water proof they are.

DB San Jose,  CA Great "Dual Sport" Boot I purchased the Sidi Discovery boots after taking an off-road riding clinic on my BMW GS. “Dual-sport” boots like the Discovery boots were a point of discussion, offering off-road features but with some touring comfort, and I’m pleased to say that these boots have exceeded my expectations. After a short break-in, I find them comfortable for multi-hundred mile rides, but at the same offered better off-road protection than my old touring boots. The buckle system was a bit cumbersome at first, but it’s now intuitive, as I’ve learned how not to upset the adjustment while opening and closing. I do need to be a bit careful when walking across the floor, as the metal toe guard does scrape. I originally purchased these boots to supplement my touring boots, but I find myself wearing them in place of them – I like the fit and the style matches my GS. I’d recommend these boots to anyone looking for a quality “dual-sport” boot.

Mark Kennewick,  WA Sidi Discovery Boot I've read great reviews about these boots. I'll add one more. The fit is very good, euro size 45 is about U.S. 10 3/4. I normally wear size 10 1/2 shoe and this boot is just large enough for a heavy pair of socks and still feels roomy enough to not cramp my toes at all. Very comfortable. I wore them while riding the 4 wheeler in freezing weather and my feet got slightly cold. These boots are not insulated, but, who cares if riding in the summertime. With proper care and boot grease they should remain quite waterproof. The finish looks very good, nice looking and easy to keep clean. Look to be made very well. I can't speak of durability as I've only wore them a few times ,but, expect them to last me several years. The features that I need to get used to are: 1) folding the tongue gusset in proper 2) Keeping the adjustable strap in place. The strap is secure once the boot is strapped down, but once the straps are released, the strap itself can slide out to the next position. This is only slightly inconvenient and defiantly not a deal breaker. The cam lock buckles are very sweet though. I am pleased with the traction of the sole, which was a major factor for picking this boot. It is much better suited for all types of riding than a straight motocross boot (dual sport, mountain trails. and 4 wheeler riding to). As far as the cost benefit? Well, you get what you pay for. I'd say overall these boots are well worth the money and a bargain at that. Thanks Motorcycle Superstore for having these boots in stock when the rest of the country seemed to be out of them and waiting for the next ship to arrive. And a great price.

Chris Hunt Atlanta,  GA Great boots These boots rock. By far the best looking too. After they get broken in (a little stiff across the crown of my foot) they're going to be hard to ever get rid of. I'll probably seek a cobbler to re-sole them once they do get in need. I'm wearing them right now at my desk at work because they're so comfortable. I use them for dual sport and commuting. Haven’t taken the steel toe off as I like the look and knowledge I have them if I need them. Steel toe may be a problem on some wood floors so watch it if you don't want a frying pan upside your head!

Kevin Key Biscayne,  FL Great Boots for Dual Sporting I ride a Suzuki DRZ400s and do some light off-roading. I wanted the protection of MX style boots but still wanted the ability to flex my ankles, allowing me to shift and walk normally. The Sidi Discovery's fit the bill perfectly. They are extremely comfortable and waterproof and did not require any break-in. While they don’t offer the same level of protection and armor as true MX boots, they are very well made and durable. I highly recommend them for conservative dual sport riders.

debbie vancouver,  DC Sidi Received boots on Friday; up in the bush on Saturday. Didn't have a "work in" period; fit nice right out of the box. Lots of rocks, water and dirt - no leakage. Michael Tucson,  TX Sidi Discovery Boot This is the first Sidi product I have purchased/owned. This has been one of the best pieces of gear I have purchased over the last couple of years. The boot is highly functional and adjustable. The foot bed is shaped well and could accept many different types of feet. Highly adjustable throughout the calf as well. I highly recommend these boots in just about any situation. I just returned from a week long tour of Colorado with plenty of dual sport riding and they performed flawlessly, even

Shane Gillispie Bonney Lake,  MI Sidi Discovery Boot Comfortable right out of the box. I tried on at least 20 other pairs none to my liking. Good toe, heal and shin protection...but other areas of the boot could use a bit more armor. However, they were designed to be a full on motocross boot, so I can't really take points away for that. Anyway, I'm fussy about the way my boots fit...and I love these!
