Item Description

Sidi Discovery Rain Boots

Sidi, continuously researching new technological solutions to enhance rider safety, is proud to present the Discovery Rain boot. With Sidi’s great style, feel, support and quality there are no finer performance off road boots in the world.

Non-Bootie Designs: Sidi boots do not incorporate inner booties into their design, and for good reason. Booties make the design larger and cumbersome; add to the boot’s thickness, which interferes with shifting, plus the inner booties retain body heat affecting the rider’s performance and comfort.

Buckles: Sidi’s exclusive cam-lock buckle system is acknowledged as the finest system on the planet. It must be as most of Sidi’s competitors have attempted to copy various aspects of it. The cam-lock buckle system incorporates a strap memory retention system. Adjust the straps once and they will be at the same position for every ride after that! No more readjusting.

Heat Shields: Each Sidi boot is equipped with an anti-heat undressed leather protection panel at the same height of most motorcycle’s exhaust heat shields.

Replaceable Parts: Every bolt on component of each Sidi off road boot is available separately.

Composite Insole: A cushioned liner is provided that can be removed if the rider desires a more roomy fit. Sidi does not use steel shanks riveted to its insole like most manufactures, details such as this enable Sidi boots to enjoy a multi year service life versus the competitors multi month lifespan as over time, a steel shank can deteriorate, rust and fracture exposing the rider to injury.

Lining: Cambrelle is a lining that, due to its particular polyimide structure, guarantees a rapid drying rate after the boot gets wet or sweaty. This prevents the onset of mold forming which extends the boots lifespan dramatically. The Teflon treated mesh panels in the rear calf area of the boot allow humidity to escape while the boot is in use.

Great Boot

Sidi makes consistently outstanding boots. Materials and construction were top notch and this boot would have been very comfortable and lasted for years. They seemed slightly large, but a single thin insole would have fixed that. I loved the Discovery but can't rate durability because I ultimately returned them in favor of a taller, more protective off-road boot.

Great Boots from the box.

Finished riding 3 weeks in Ecuador and Bolivia. Temperatures from 35 to 90 degrees, plus heavy rain almost every day. Feet were kept dry even in downpours and crossing streams. Thin socks kept my feet cool on the coasts and thick warm socks kept my feet warm in the mountains. Easy break-in period around the house for a couple of days only. No complaints, only accolades. I am now a Sidi believer.

Great boots, a little fussy

These boots are so sturdy you could back the car over them and damage the car. Finish, fit are perfect, sole grips like racing tires. The only complaints are (a) the steel cap over the toe makes it slippery. They're easy to remove and don't leave holes. The straps are a bit fussy. But if you put your thumb over the slot where the straps enter the boot and press down and it locks in place. That said, if you want to boot for wet, cold riding I doubt you'll do any better than these.

Sidi Discovery

Nice boots. Comfortable on the pegs. The buckle system is a little wonky but once you get them dialed in they work. Toe protection is very good. Not for motocross but awesome for dual sport. Haven't got them wet except for some stream crossings, but they are not too hot even in the 90s.

Makes me still down in my toes!

Hard to beat a time tested and proven name. Dang these fit like a firm glove the very first time I put them on out of the box.

Great boots.

Could go for a 4th buckle, but that's about it. Not really a big deal at all. Nothing to complain about these boots at all. Kept my feet nice and dry throughout the whole PM race at the 2011 Snowshoe GNCC, aside from the sweat, but that's gonna be any riding boot. I will buy again for sure.

10 years

I've had a pair of these for over 10 years. I wear them distance, touring, and some trail riding. These are the best piece of biking gear I have ever owned.

Sidi discovery rain boots

These boots fit perfect, right to the size 11. Great protection, made well, just needed to waterproof the seams on the stitching. Sidi products are the best.

Worth the $

I ride winters here and these boots were the final piece of the puzzle. Quick to put on/off (I change at work) and comfortable in 13 degree weather (thick socks of course). I wear a 10.5 in everything else, but had to get a EUR 44 in these.

Looks good, feels good... wonder about protection.

I had some crappy Joe Rocket Sonic boots that were toast after 1 year of dual sport riding / touring. However, comparing them to the Sidi's, the Sidi's: -Do not seem to have as much protection as the Sonic boot. The ankle support specifically seems weaker. +Are lighter than the Sonic boot. +Are easier to walk in than the Sonic boot, probably because the ankle is more flexible. +Seem to fit true to the size chart, though the top of the boot seems designed for someone with giant legs. +Appear to be more water proof. +Are much better constructed. +Look MUCH nicer. -Cost 3.5 times as much. If they last 4 or 5 years I will be utterly THRILLED.
