I just bought these boots, they are cool looking and comfy. I haven't gone riding in them yet but they will probably be great. My last pair of boots Thor Quadrants were petty nice but they had buckles that broke after about ten rides. But these new cheap tech 3AT's are way better for about the same price. Another bad thing about the Quadrants is some times I kept missing shift's because I couldn’t pull the lever that well, that’s why I recommend these.

My wife bought these boots for me for a gift and I thought they looked great. I was concerned that they didn't look flexible or comfortable (and might be just for show) but when I put them on they were surprisingly comfy and lightweight. So much so in fact I didn't take them off after I finished riding.

Once you break them in they are great boots for the price. Stylish looking and durable. If they are not broken in you will miss shifts. It doesn't take long to break them in though. Great boot!

I had tried on several cheaper sub $200 pairs of boots, but these felt better than everything for the money. 3 hours of wearing around the house and they are totally broken-in and doing their duty well. Good construction (mostly plastic) and a good price = a best seller for Astars. They have done it again!

I think I've written less than three reviews in my life but after my experience with Astar's customer support I just had to. First, I like the boots. I'd tried on ~6-8 sub $200 boots and these were simply the most comfortable boot by a long shot. There are plenty of others saying the same thing but I figured I'd add that I was very impressed with their customer support. I emailed Astar on a whim asking if I can buy a replacement anchor part. To my surprise, they just shipped me 4 sets of anchors, bolts and nuts free of charge and in just a few days shipping. Wow... made me a very, very happy customer.

Got these boots in yesterday. Ordered them on Thursday with just regular ground shipping. No hitch there. Pulled them out of the box and tried them on. They fit great, but the buckles were a little hard to snap into place the first couple times. Good adjustability on the straps, though. Walked around the house and outside for about 5-10 minutes, then went for a ride around the block. Missed several shifts due to stiffness because I couldn't feel the shifter and couldn't get on/beneath the shifter, but they aren't quite broken in just yet. I did notice after one ride, though, that they are starting to break in, which is a good thing. Seems like it won't take long to get them where I want to to be. These boots look sweet and fit like a glove. I have no doubt that they will be perfect after a few short hours of wearing them around the house.

These are the first motorcycle boots that I've owned so I don't have much basis for comparison but they've been great! Now that I have them, I wish I had bought them much earlier. It's taken a couple hundred miles for them to begin to get broken-in, but now that they are they're a pleasure to ride in. They're easy to get on and off and feel like they'll last a long time and maintain their good look. Highly recommended.

This boot is the best boot I have ever ridden in. I’ve only owned 3 boots but I definitely recommend any kind of alpinestar boot. They fit great but took some getting use to. This boot is also great for trail riding, It grips anything even if it’s wet!!!Once u wear these boots you'll never go back to any other brand of boots:]

Good fitting boot that breaks in quickly. I have better touch when shifting with the Tech 3 than my prior boot. Prior boot had more of an ATV sole. I prefer the non-atv sole by far for riding. Very comfortable and good closing system for the price. Would buy again.

I purchased these boots for a 3 week trip and put them on straight out of the box the morning I left. They were a little uncomfortable on the first day with some pinching around the toes. After a day or 2 they broke in and I haven't had any other problems. They aren't quite waterproof (but they aren't supposed to be). Overall, these boots are very comfortable, very supportive, and I would buy them again in a heartbeat.

I was a little leery about buying boots on line because of the size I wear. Size 15, yeah I am a big guy, 6'4 290 lbs and I was also looking for my son who is bigger and only 17. I found everything we needed: helmets, jerseys, pants, boots etc. I am very satisfied, everything fit perfect for both of us. I bought the boots in a size 16 and with thick ridding socks they are perfect. Its so nice to find what you need in one place, I recommend highly.

I bought these in white from a friend and he only wore them three times and they looked brand spanking new! I got them from him for $150 and he threw in a pair of knee guards for free! It took a good 3 rides or so to break them in and I've gotta say: they are the best boots I have ever worn! Alpinestars is a very good company to trust to make good rider protection; especially boots! BUY THESE BOOTS!!!

My only other experience with MX boots was 60$ Fly boots that fit bad, wore bad, and were just sucky overall. The Tech 3's are AMAZING compared to that experience. I wore them around work for 3 days to break them in and not once did my feet get any pressure spots or pain. I like the more shoe-based design of the sole versus the standard MX, but I ride supermoto. Maybe more expensive boots are more comfortable but dollar for dollar these are great.

I've had the Tech 2's for a year or so and love them for commuting, but needed more protection for dual sport/off road riding on my KLR 650 and these Tech 3's fit the bill perfectly. Easy to break in, fit perfectly and provide solid support.

I got these boots a few weeks ago as my first pair of A-star's. I am already impressed with them! After only 3 days of riding with them they are broken in + I am already used to them! They offer a lot more protection than the last pair of boots I had and I am very happy about the quality. The fit of them was accurate and they are very comfortable once you get used to them. Great boot for the price and I highly recommend them for all riding types!

These boots were super comfortable right out of the box. I have worn them around my house to break them in a little bit more. For how cheap these are I didn't expect them to be this nice. Literally fit like a shoe. The only bad things are the buckles. If your fingers are cold then these will be difficult to deal with.

These boots are amazing! I don't know why people complain about the buckles because they are really easy to opperate. The protection is supurb and they are really comfortable. I have had both tech 7s and 3s and from my experience the 3s are a lot better. There is padding around your malieolus bone which adds to comfort and protection. They are stiff right out of the box. I would highly recommend these boots to anyone. Great for any type of riding. I race harescrambles.

I enjoy everything about them so far. As stated, I've only used them once so far, but the only thing I worry about is the rubber sole - I hope it holds up, because it feels soft, and I am worried my pegs will chew them up. We shall see how tough they are and how well they hold up in the long-run. Overall, VERY comfortable, and made by THE best… A*!

Was looking for a boot to use for commuting to work on my DRz-400 Super Moto. After reading reviews and comparing pricing this was the winner. The boots arrived early and looked awesome. Break in, even riding street, was like 10 hours. Straps and buckles seem to be well constructed but I could definitely see if someone liked their boots really tight how they could break. Only complaint is water will soak through the seams. For the weekend warrior riding on a budget Tech 3's are definitely highly recommended.

Nice boots good fit and finish. Really like the buckles, as they keep the adjustment location as well as easy to get on and off without coming unbuckled while riding. Soles of the boots remind me of my old Hi-Point boots from the 70s with the lug pattern for good traction.

I am usaully a size 10 and every one in a while a 10.5, I got size 10 they fit well with a little room in the toe to spare.

Great quality, well made, size is right on very stiff. As far as the buckles go much tougher to unhook than a ski boot (which will slap off). It seems to vary from buckle to buckle. I have one that refused to come off, if you open the buckle, then put your finger in the opening it creates and pull (or push) the latching pin from its socket it pops out. Great boot regardless of the cost.

I usually wear a size 17 US boot. But in 16s. These boots were the largest I could find. Only alpinestars make mx boots with lug soles in size 16s. They seem to fit fine if I wear thin to medium thick socks. My left boot was delivered with the insole missing. I up Moto-superstore and rectify that. They are a bit of a pain to walk in when new. Also, on fit. I noticed that the outer edge of one of the treads was pointing down. It was not level like the opposite boot. This will lead to uneven wear. But, they should be alright. I have size 17's and I know I can’t be picky.

The boots fit will, although I did order a size larger than I normally wear. They are built to accommodate shin/knee protection which I don't wear so they are a little roomy around the upper calf. You can compensate by wearing thicker socks. Overall I like the boots a lot, and I have not had a problem with them.

The Tech 3 immediately fits your foot area great. Sizing is pretty much dead on to my shoe size with riding sox. Read the instruction booklet and it will tell to keep adjusting the buckles tighter as the boot breaks in (very true). The upper calf area is huge but just keep adjusting and it will fit like a glove. I've used them ten times already in a month. At first they were awkward but now I can were them for ten hours on those Saturday ride break ride break and more ride days with your buddy’s. I can definitely see myself buying a higher grade boot after another season. But absolutely the best beginner to intermediate boot I have found.

These boots get a" two thumbs - up " from me. First the boots are well worth the price, the buckles may not be the best but for the price they are great. The second thumbs-up comes for the superstore, the boots run a little large so I had to exchange my first order for a smaller size, and customer service at the superstore could not be better, it's just the best !

I've owned a couple pairs of pricey boots (Tech 8s and Sidi's) but these new Tech 3s are a great boot for the money. The buckles are very easy to use and boot gives the support you need without being too stiff. The soles have no signs of wear after three good rides. I wore them around the house a few nights before taking them to the races and I did not have one problem with shifting or feeling the rear brake. This boot is a no brainer. Also, I love that there isn't a stupid booty in the boot.

I've had an issue w/ the older Alpinestars products, both street and dirt. Seems like they've upped their game in the last couple of years. I just got these boots after destroying an old pair of Tech 8's in Baja. Haven't used the Tech 3's yet, but a friend had them on the same trip and loved them for the price. (btw, I only gave durability a 3 because I don't know yet and the review will not submit w/ a blank).

Only one ride and so far so good. Had to raise my shifter to get my toe under which is no big deal, but it's somewhat difficult to use the foot break. Possible it could be fixed once the boots have broken in and I tighten the brake cable. Other than that I'd say I'm satisfied, others are jealous of the green and brown, stick out more than the run of the mill black or white boots.

Had them a full season now. Broke in quickly, comfortable and have held up very well. Locking the buckles can be challenging to lock down, especially top one. The two parts of the buckle don't line up once my foot is in the boot and the other buckles that do line up are hard to snap into the locked position. Getting them off is a nightmare. They will pop up out of the locked position fairly easy but then its nearly immpossible to separate the two parts. I started using a screwdriver to pry them appart. Ridiculous! I keep waiting for them to get easier but no change after about 20 rides. I have a friend with Tech 3's without this problem but his are older. Will not buy again.

Good starter boots. Fits good, reasonably priced but I’d spend the extra cash and get something better like Tech 7’s or a different brand. First day got a hole in the side from kick start. I have never seen this before, or did the Yamaha dealership. I’ve ridden for years and never will buy another pair of these. I don’t recommend these to anyone. Spend the extra or get something different. I don’t motocross or do anything crazy with these boots, just a trail rider. Alpinestars were kindly to patch these for free. However no boot should be so easily damaged. I have sneakers more durable. Go for the Tech 7s.

First off, let me say I DO like these boots. With that being said, I want to know who designed these buckles and if they ever actually wore them and then tried to undo them at the end of a day of riding. It is the most frustrating thing and has become a joke among me and my friends I ride with. Just an absurd feature on an otherwise great boot for the price.

Got these as a budget version of the Tech 8's. I have had solid luck with other Alpinestar boots. The boots fit great ( I got a size 8 for an 8 1/2 foot so they do run large if anything). Break in was quick and they seem to offer the support I need in my enduro desert type riding. The buckle system is terrible. I read other reviews about how hard they were to use this boot. I literally have to make sure I have pliers around to get the boots off. Not good.

Horrible buckles!!!

Got the Tech 3 for my son. Good quality and fit but the buckles are a nightmare to release. Yes, he does need a screwdriver to do it!

Boots fit good and flex in all the right places for trail riding however they provide great support....so I was disappointed to see after my second day of trail riding with the boots that one of the plastic bits that goes across the front of the boot that holds the tab/buckle tore clean off. Cheap plastic.

A great boot for the money; very comfortable and lightweight. I’ve only worn them five times and right toe is worn out from hitting footpeg during kick starts(sole is torn up) other than that its a great boot!!

I returned these boots. I was a size 11/11.5. The boot size fit nicely. However, there was not enough adjustment to cinch them tight enough around my ankles and calves. In addition, they were a lot more rigid then I was looking for. I ordered SIDI Discovery as a replacement for Dual Sport riding.

dont bother

These are the 1st set of ASTARS ever-used to get msr atv boots. the A Stars fit & finish are way better than msr boots by far but the buckles are a pain to open after a ride or gncc race, almost have a full year on these boots trail riding & few races & held up fine & soles have as well,I run Rath racing footpegs & they are super sharp!!! Hey Alpinestars, fix the buckles on an otherwise awesome boot!!!!

Might as well wear a cast on each leg

These boots are so stiff they feel like you are wearing casts on each leg. The ankle does not flex so it is almost impossible to upshift while standing up. I have to have the boots loose at the top so it will allow for any ankle movement to shift and apply the rear brake.

I bought a pair of these in March, I've had 5 rides with them. Let me start by saying they fit great, best fitting boot I've ever worn, I am almost 40 years old and bean riding since I was 12. Now for the BAD, the durability sucks, on the second ride the lower buckle almost tore completely off and I don't remember hitting anything, no scuff marks on it anyway. On the third ride it tore completely in two, and one of the buckles on the other side is starting to rip. I see another guy mention the buckles being impossible to open after a ride and yes it takes a screwdriver to pop them open, then half the time you pop the clip side out of place so you have to loosen the Allan screw to put it back in place. So okay, they are an inexpensive boot but at $200 and only getting 5 rides out of them, that’s $40 a ride, just for boots! I WOULD NOT BUY A PAIR OF THESE EVER AGAIN! I will let you know what Alpinestar did to them when I get them back, to see if I would buy any Alpinestar product ever again.

While the fit and finish seemed fine, the buckles on this boot are terrible. The clasp part separated from the boot after a handful of easy rides. A friend with Tech 7's also suffers from horrible buckles. Am sending back and hoping for warranty credit - upgrading to Sidi's. I will say that Motorcycle Superstore has been excellent to deal with.

These are no good at any price. The tail end of the upper clasp chafes the back of your calf. Made in Thailand, too, of the cheapest rubber and plastic. For the same price, the Gaerne GX-1 is far superior.
