Product Description
Leatt Moto GPX Club Neck Brace

The Leatt-Brace™ is an injection produced glass reinforced nylon neck brace system designed by medical professionals and motorcycle enthusiasts to help prevent:
  • Hyperflexion: extreme forward head movement
  • Hyperextension: extreme rearward head movement
  • Lateral Hyperflexion: extreme sideways head movement
  • Axial loading: compression of the spinal column due to the effect of force on the helmet
  • Posterior hypertranslation: rearward movement of the head/helmet on the neck
There is currently no other neck protection system available for motorcyclists that can effectively help prevent all of the above potential injuries. The design rationale behind the Leatt-Brace™ is to bring the head to a controlled stop. This is achieved by providing a padded rigid structure that acts as an alternate load path for neck forces. Helmet impacts otherwise transmitted from the helmet to skull and then to the neck are re-directed from the helmet to the brace to other body structures in a safe way.

The design of the Leatt-Brace™ prevents the helmet/head from projecting over the brace and therefore prevents a fulcrum action, which has been documented in literature pertaining to the use of collar devices. The Leatt-Brace™ MOTO GPX works with most types of body armor and chest protectors. It is also suitable for use by Superbike riders. Over long distances, the Leatt-Brace™ will also offer some relief from neck fatigue. Only leathers with a hump require minor modification.

The X-Strap (for upright riding position) and GP-Strap (for Superbike leathers with a hump), included with the MOTO GPX, are designed for the extreme rider who may experience 'float' at high speed (Superbike) or in a big air and flat-out whoop situations (motocross). Note: Not all riders will find the X-Strap and the GP-Strap necessary.

The Leatt-Brace™ MOTO GPX is compatible with all motorcycle helmet types and our design allows riders an adequate range of movement. The Leatt-Brace™ MOTO GPX is designed for use on all motorcycles and ATVs for competition use, recreational riding and daily commuting. The Leatt-Brace™ has been tested by BMW Munich, KTM Works Riders, the SABS (South African Bureau of Standards). It is also endorsed by MSA (Motorsport South Africa).

Gary Huston Albion,  PA Leatt Neck Brace First of all, take the time to adjust this thing right. If you follow the directions it works well. It took me about a week to get used to wearing it, now I don't even notice it. A big advantage has been on longer trips when you can let your helmet sit on the top of the brace. No more neck fatigue and no more of that burning pain between the shoulder blades! Also, I thought that other bikers might make fun of me for wearing it, but I get more questions and positive comments about it than any other piece of gear. I highly recommend it.

Bonzai Uniontown,  OH Leatt - Moto GPX Club Neck Brace Purchased two braces however one unit was returned for misaligned screw threads. Motorcycle superstore gave clear instructions for return. A replacement brace was ordered however, the brace that arrived was NOT a Moto GPX but instead an Adventure Brace (mislabeled box). Again the unit was returned. The actual fit and finish of the brace is excellent. It took approximately 45 minutes to properly assemble and adjust the unit. I would recommend that you take your time as there are very minor adjustments that can be made for a proper fit. It took only one ride to become comfortable wearing the brace with absolutely no movement restriction. I am going to purchase two more for my daughters. After wearing it for several track and trail rides, I wouldn't ride without it! Excellent investment. NOTE: The Leatt literature that came with the unit calls for brace replacement at the three year point but at $400, I think I'll forgo replacement a while beyond that...barring any damage.

tom Belleview,  FL life saver I just bought one of these neck braces because I have steel plates and cages in my neck and thought this would be the best thing to add to my gear to protect me and my neck. Takes a little bit of time to get the fit right but after that is so light that you don’t even know it is there. I think it is the best money I have ever spent on motorcycle gear.

David Baluk San Francisco,  CA Expensive but worth it. I find it very comfortable to wear now that I've got the Knox Warrior BC9 body armor. The only problem I have with it is that I cannot wear my Specialized Deviant helmet with it. The helmet and the brace push my head down too far when riding. I am quite a tall person and end up riding hunched over the bars somewhat so anyone less than 6'2" may not have this problem. It fits just fine on a Troy Lee helmet and the build quality and peace of mind is worth the $395.00 USD. The extra $200 USD for a savings of 3oz. is not worth the carbon brace in my mind.

Kathleen Berg Basalt,  CO Leatt - Moto GPX Club Neck Brace I bought this for my son as he is a downhill mountain bike racer. This looks like it will be a great addition to the other protective equipment he wears. As a mother, I am all about the protection when he is participating is such a high speed sport. This piece, along with the helmet and core protector, take care of him when he's racing. He appreciates the fact that this brace is so adjustable for the perfect fit.

Peggy Edwards lowell,  AR Leatt neck brace The neck brace seems to be effective. The problem we've found is that it doesn't fit well with the chest protector. We are looking to find one & haven't succeeded yet. Leatt should design a chest protector to coordinate with this brace in order to get the most benefit form the device.

jorgen pittsburgh,  PA great product I really like this neck brace and I have used it for about a year now. Almost feel vulnerable without one at this point. Took about a week before I got used to adjusting my head movement; when I am looking over my shoulder etc, then I am also rotating my upper body slightly (and also lean forward just a bit). This is not an issue. You would probably not even notice if you saw me doing it since it is minor. I never ride without it. No exceptions.

Anthony Anderson Yuma,  AZ Leatt - Moto GPX Club Neck Brace Consumer Review I've only ridden with my Leatt GPX club for about 3 rides now (total of ~ 3-4 hours of riding) and it definitely takes some getting used to. In the first ride I thought "no way, I'm eBaying this sucker!" I was even looking for convenient spots along my ride to ditch it and pick it up after the ride. But you need to remember WHY you spent the money on it in the first place. Therefore I kept wearing it. Getting the fit right is the key to happily using it. By this I mean getting it to sit FLUSH on your torso. Any amount it's lifted off your body = more helmet interference. So my overall take w/ this product is: (1) Well designed(2) Excellent quality (3) Expect to spend at least 1 hour to get the fit acceptable
