Short Term Review
The Anakee spoons on easily, usually the sign of better rubber (I do my own tire changes on my XR650L) and yet appears to have quite string sidewalls compared to some of the cheaper tires I've run up front. The tire turns in *very* fast, if you are used to a more dual sport tire, which is what I came from. I mounted this tire specifically for the "rainy" season here in the bay area. I have a second rim I used to run my D606 for my dual sport trips. As such, this tire is strictly used for commuting. Turns in a little quick, definitely likes throttle input during the corner. The balance seems excellent out of the box, it goes down the road smooth, and make only a little road noise ( although I was shocked to see it made almost as much as the much more knobby tire I had previously). The wet weather performance is excellent. It does like to grab pavement irregularities and follow grooves and such much more easily than say, my old C858 did.

New favorite tire
These tires are great. I just got back from a three day trip to Montreal and the tires are super smooth and grippy even on the wet roads. On the dirt they hook up great on everything but wet grass, clay type mud and loose sand. Still an all around great tire, the price was right and the name you can trust.

So far so good.
I put a set of these on my 09 KLR650 about a week ago. So far I have been very pleased with them. Living in the Aspen CO area, I go from paved to dirt constantly and need a tire that handles well on everything. I did about 300 miles the other day over a high mountain gravel/dirt pass and other than the bike being a little squirly at high speeds which I expected, they handled just fine. Much smoother on the paved roads that my stock Dunlops. FYI: If you have an 08-09 KLR650, to go wider than 130mm on the rear you may have to take off the chain guard. I got the 140-80-17 and it fits great. No rubbing once the guard was removed.

perfect rain or 90/10 front
Quick turn-in, smooth and great grip rain or sun. The rears tend to wear quickly. I matched this front with a Tourance rear.

Great Tires for my purpose
I have run these tires since I have owned my bike - F659GS - very good in rain, and does well for me off-road. Most of my time is on road, off-road has been Forest Access in Colorado, gravel roads in Texas, and back roads of Big Bend National Park. Tires have worked great in all, but perform better when aired down a bit. Have held unbelievably well in rain, even on twisty mountain roads in CO. I really like these tires for my purposes.

Great Tire
I bought this tire to match the Anakee rear I put on my KLR 650. I get 15,000 miles on the radial rear (2 to 3 times that of other tires), however I get about the same mileage from this tire as with other dual sport tires (around 10,000), but it maintains better traction on pavement throughout its life. It washes out in soft dirt and sand, but I use it for paved road commuting. I have no idea how it performs in rain, since I don't ride in the rain. I only wish they would make it in a radial, to get more tire life.
