Metzler Tourance Tires
I had Metzler Tourances on my BMW 1150GS when I bought it but switched to Michelin Anakees. On a trip to Alaska I noticed unusual wear patterns on the Michelins. I bought a new front tire (Tourance) in Fairbanks for the return trip. The same road and same distance back home with very even wear. That's enough for me. I'm always getting Metzlers.

Rear Metzler Tourance
This was an exact replacement for my OEM tire. Most of my riding was street, I would say 80% and the rest on mountain trails and dirt roads. The original tire I had 16,500 miles on and it performed great throughout. I was so impressed with its performance that I chose to replace it with the same tire. The replacement came in quickly after it was ordered and I got it installed and have had no problems from ordering to riding. It is a great tire.

Metzlers
My third set of these on my GS. Real confidence builder. On the road they seem to sweep through minor gravel spots, hook up well in the rain, and I get 10,000 miles to a set. Take them right to the edge, and they feel solid. Not too bad in the gravel till they wear down a bit.

Metzler Tourance GS Tire
This is the best dual sport tire for me. Have tried the other major brands. Have over 50,000 miles using Tourances on this bike. Longevity, grip, pavement and gravel, and price work for me. Tourances have proved to be the best rain tire also.

So far I am very pleased with this tire. I'm using it on my DL1000 on both pavement and dirt. Too soon to say about mileage, but off to a good start.

First buy
I bought these to replace my Bridgestones because of a nail in the side wall. My BMW GS handles better on the gravel it's not as Squirrely, as far as the rain goes only time will tell. I had about 7700 miles on the Bridgestones before I had to change them out so I hope these do as good if not better. Motorcycle Superstore saved me about $200 bucks.
Thanks.

Metzler Tourance
The Metzler Tourances replaced the stock Trailwings on my 2006 Triumph Scrambler which went away at 4300 miles. The Tourances, which were replaced as a pair, are so much better in every way that I really was surprised. Confidence inspiring to say the least.

Tourance on rear BMW R1150GS Adv
Good allround tire, good traction in wet and on compacted gravel road, excellent on dry asphalt. Last 8k miles to
10k miles depending on your throttle itch. Needs warm up
before serious cornering compared with other street tires.
Of course no match to TKC80 for off road use.

This is my third Metzeler Tourance rear and expect it will be as good as the ones I've had before. Very good tire.

GOOD LOOKING TIRE ON MY R1150GS. ROAD HANDLING HAS BEEN GOOD ON DRY PAVEMENT. VERY FEW WET DAYS IN SOUTH TEXAS THIS YEAR. OFF ROAD PERFORMANCE FAIR, AS EXPECTED PER PREVIOUS REVIEWS. SCARY IN THE LOOSE STUFF (GRAVEL& SAND), BUT GOOD FOR LOAMY TERRAIN AND FIRMER SOILS. SMOOTH ON PAVEMENT WITH LOW ROAD NOISE (I SPEND ABOUT 400 MI/WK ON THE TARMAC).
oVER-=ALL GOOD PERFORMER FOR ITS INTENDED PURPOSE

Metzler Tourance
This is the third set of Tourance tires for my Vstrom. I tried a set of Tourance "EXP" and was disappointed in the mileage. They are a softer compound and I only got 7K out of the rear. I average over 10K on the regular Tourance and as far as I can tell, the ride is similar with both tires.

The best
My 3rd Tourance from Metzler. Excellent on dry and wet roads and acceptable for short runs on dirt if you haven't changed to knobbies. I got nearly 15K miles on my last one.

Tire wear
In answer to Mike, Phillpi, WV--The reason the front tires wear a little funny is that most all the asphalt roads in the US Of A have a 5% dome in the middle sloping to each side for water drainoff. One is constantly putting pressure on the handle bar to keep the bike running straight and that sometimes makes the front tires wear different.

Metzeler Tourance
Great tire! This will be the 3rd one on my '04 V-Strom 1000. I've been getting about 9500 miles per on these compared to about 8000 on the Bridgestone. Low noise, great wear, predictable, and feels solid on wet/loose conditions.

Very good Use these on my 1150GS. First one lasted just under 10K miles.. Will definitely buy another.. boot. Fit is true to size. Although it is a little narrow in the toe. Otherwise a very comfortable, lightweight boot..

Awesome Rear
To be fair, this is the first time I've ridden with anything but factory tires, but the difference is astounding! A lot more sure in drop-ins and once scrubbed off, the thing sticks like glue to the pavement.
It gets just a hair hard in the cold (sub 32 degrees) but what tire doesn't?
Overall the best tire I could have bought for my DL650K7.

premium tire
Smooth riding, long lasting, premium road tire for big dual-sports. You get what you pay for, and they don't get much better than this. There are better pure road tires and knobbier dirt-oriented tires, but for 90/10 this is it. Fine on gravel, hard packed dirt. Only 1k miles so far.

Very Nice
I bought these tires to replace the stock pair about a week before leaving on a long trip to Indy for Moto GP. They shipped reasonably quick and were mounted the day before I left, leaving very little time for scuffing. To make matters worse it was pouring down rain on the day of our departure. Hardly ideal with only about 2 miles on them, however they performed flawlessly. My fully loaded DL1000 stuck in the wet quite well with these confidence inspiring tires. Hopefully I'll get the high mileage that other users have seen.

Tourance as a big dual sport tire...
I have run several brands dual sport tires and these have consistently lasted the longest and provided the best service for my uses. I ride a lot of dirt roads and ranch trails.

great tire for mostly road
I run this tire on my BMW R1150GS, a big dual sport bike. I've run several sets of tourance tires and have been pleased. I think they say something like 70% on, 30% off road. I have a steep gravel drive and the tires do fine there but on my big bike that's as much off road as I would want with this tire. I got about 9000 miles on the last rear. I'll get a few thousand more on the front. The front tends to wear a bit uneven on my bike and get a bit noisy in the turns as it nears the end of it's tread life. Odd but not a problem.

Metz Tourance
Fantastic tire it is the only tire I will buy for my R1150GS. They last the longest perform the best. I ride mostly 85% on pavement 10% dirt roads 5% off road. I get about 8000 miles on them.

Metzeler Tourance Tires (Not EXP)
I recently used one set of Metzeler tires on a 14,000 mile journey from Istanbul, Turkey to Xian, China continuing from Seattle, WA to my home on the east coast of US. I rode my Triumph Tiger, two-up with approximately 110lbs of luggage. The rear tire was just beyond the tire wear marker at 1.5mm tread when I arrived home. The tires performed very well on dirt roads, some sand roads, gravel roads, huge pot holes, and also ran smooth and quiet on sealed roads. The tires perform well in the rain and also light mud. The key to the high mileage was proper inflation. I would recommend these tires as an exceptional valve for the mileage.

Traction is an illusion for dirt riding on a 600 lb bike. Everyone wants knobbies.....good luck. However, it is necessary on the slab. This tire provides the necessary traction on the tar and aint bad in the dirt. I will buy it as long as they make it.

I put new Tourances on my DL650 V-Strom prior to going to a school that required new tires for the on track portion of their session. After hours of negotiating the 2.5 mile track I was pleased with the tire's performance. Never a slip or step out nor a brake lock up.

Tourances are Worth The Money
I am continually impressed with the life my friends get out of their Tourances - even the aggressive riders. These tires have more tread depth than any comparable tire I have seen and often get more than 10,000 miles of use out of them. They hook up great, allow you to really lean over pretty aggressively, and seem to be smoother riding than my previous Bridgestone BT020 to boot. I can't say how they are in the wet, but I have heard very favorable comments regarding their wet-weather performance.

Metzeler-Tourance Rear Tire
I've got 60,000+ miles on my 2004 BMW R1150GS Adventurer. The stock tires lasted just a little over 2000 miles. I went with the Tourance after doing a little research on the internet. I made the right choice. On average Im getting 15-17,000 miles of a set of these GREAT tires. Ususally the front I can go a little longer but alway's change both out at the same time.

METZLER TOURANCE REAR TIRE
This tire has been excellent for the wet conditions of Northwest Oregon. Great traction through the curves even in heavy rain, good traction for a 70/30 tire in the beach sand, and I got almost 9500 miles wear on a set.

Metzler Tourance rear tire
Great handling in both dry and wet conditions. Doesn't tend to roll like the Michelin Anakee did when hitting gravel in a turn. Little more road noise than the Anakee. Tires definitely want to “grab” into a turn. Took a little getting used to but now feel more confident as they track nicely.

One of the best tires on the market!
My riding style presents 90% solo-riding, exclusively on paved roads. Mainly commuting and sport-touring. I am 5'8” and around 185lbs. My 2001 R1150GS came with those tires form the factory. I never experienced anything bad when using those tires on all different road conditions. A lot of wet surfaces and temperatures ranging from around 28 to 103°F. Front and rear lasted an unheard of 30,000 miles - yes, 30,000 miles. When it was time to replace them mechanics at Ride West BMW couldn't believe it either.
Don't hesitate buy them, you won't be sorry.

Excellent Tires
My 2001 GS 1150 came with those tires from the factory. I rode about 90% solo and exclusively on pavement. I weigh around 185lbs. And the majority of my riding is commuting and sport-touring. The performance of those tires was absolutely flawless. Both of them, front and rear lasted 30,000 miles - yes, 30,000 miles. When it was time to replace them, mechanics at Ride West BMW couldn't believe it either. I'll recommend them to everyone.

15k on my rear & front tire. I’ve done lots of desert riding on 10psi on the front & 13psi on the rear. Works perfect on the sand as well as on wet road.
Excellent tire.

Excellent tire
I have been using Metzelers for the past 4 years on BMW GG 1150s. Never had a remote negative thought about these tires. Excellent traction on dry and wet conditions and fair grip on dirt roads. Thread life is about 8k for the rear and about 12K for the front. Overall, not thinking of trying another brand.

Tourance rear
The tire works fine on and offroad. Need to adjust pressure for better handling offroad. Mileage is fair depending on how hard you ride. I get about 6 to 8 thousand miles before they are trashed. I mix it up between back roads and high-speed twisties, some dirt if I get the chance. I ride 2 up a lot and we can go almost anywhere. I haven't been in much mud but feel they would be very sketchy on my bike. They come stock on BMW's!
