I've been pleased
This is the only tire I've run on my BMW R1150GS. I'm on my third set and don't have experience with another tire but I've been pleased enough to keep buying. Does fine on my long steep gravel drive. Wouldn't recommend for more serious off road. I’ll get about 11000 miles out of this set. Front tread patches wear a bit uneven front to back on my bike and get a bit noisy in the turns toward the end of their lifespan. Not a real problem.

Metzeler Tourance Front.
This will be my third Metzeler Tourance on the front. 18,000 miles per tire isn’t bad. Of course the trick is constant correct tire pressure.

Metzeler-Tourance front tire
I've got 60,000+ miles on my 2004 BMW R1150GS Adventurer. The stock tires lasted just a little over 2000miles. I went with the Tourance after doing a little research on the internet. I made the right choice. On average Im getting 15-17,000 miles of a set of these GREAT tires. Ususally the front I can go a little longer but alway's change both out at the same time.

Tourance for Tire
As most of the Tourances this one is used on a BMW 1150 GS-Adv. In general a great tire in wet and dry conditions for this big and heavy bike. Rear Tires last between 6-8k miles front tire about 12k miles. Would recommend exchange front earlier than 12k due to the extended left side run down (scaling) due to the momentum generated by the boxer engine. Not recommended off road except on gravel roads and hard packed sand. Use TKC80 instead, great tire off road (with half of the mileage).

Metzler Tourance front tire
Great handling in both dry and wet conditions. Doesn't tend to roll like the Michelin Anakee did when hitting gravel in a turn. Little more road noise than the Anakee.

Metzeler Tourance Front on 07 R1200GS
Installed the Metzler as a replacement for the original Dunlop that came new on my GS. The tire was mounted while I was on a road trip about 300 miles from home. As luck would have it, it rained for more than 40 minutes on the ride home and I was leery of the new rubber as the tire had less than 12 miles on it before I headed out. Much to my delight, the Metzeler felt extremely well planted on the rain soaked highway and, after about 20 miles, I completely relaxed and made outstanding time. I also noticed that the tire noise had been reduced compared to the Dunlop and that the overall feeling of confidence in the corners has increased. The final test is to watch them wear. I got just over 6k miles on my rear Dunlop (front likely had another 2-3k worth of tread left) but have heard that the Metzelers can be good for as much as 10k miles on the rear. Of course, a lot depends on how you load your bike and your riding style. I would highly recommend these tires to anyone with a dual-sport bike.

I have been using these Tourance for over 4 years exclusively on BMW GS 1150s. These have an excellent traction on wet/dry pavement. Thread life varies but I am able to "pull" about 8000 miles on the rear one and around 15K on the front. Overall, I am not considering other brands since these provide the safety and comfort I am looking for.

front tourance tire
I ride a GS 1150. This is my 3rd set of tires this year. I get about 6k out of each set.8k in the front if I’m easy on them. I ride mostly blue highways and backside twisty roads with as many dirt/gravel roads as possible.
Off road, they are sketchy and need to be careful in turns. Adjust tire pressure and they respond better. Highway speeds are smooth and tires don't howl. They come stock on BMW's and for good reason, best light use dualsport tire that can handle the load and the speed!

MILAGE
I ride a F650GS and have nearly 22,000 miles on the Tourance Tires - they have been great handling on pavement, gravel and on the highways at high speed - still have a thousand or so miles left in them!
