Metzler tourance
I'm on my third set of Metzler Tourance tires. They are the best performing and longest lasting of any tire I've used so far. I've consistently logged about 10,000 miles on the rear and more on the front tires. Also the balance is so accurate that usually no weights are required.

Tourance for the BMW R1100GS
The Tourance tires are OEM for the GS series and a fine choice. They wear well on pavement and are very stable on gravel or on slick surfaces.
I recently returned from a 6,800 mile trip to Alaska and the Yukon. The Tourance's performed very well. The front tire had about 3,000 miles on it and still had a little left when I returned and changed it. The rear tire was brand new and still has about 3,000 to 4,000 miles depending on where I ride.
For extreme surfaces a knobby like the Metzler Karoo would be recommended, but for 80 percent pavement and 20 percent off road, the Tourance is hard to beat. I highly recommend.

Happy to date with this tire, worked very well in the rain and I like better for dirt compared with the Mich-Sirac which was original equipment. Time will tell how it compares for
mileage.

Nice tires. I have had them before on my GS. Long lasting and handle well. Price is right. I will buy them again at this price.

MC superstore and my purchase
So far a great tire on a dual purpose. If you use your dual purpose to get to and from work, and it’s mostly street, I believe that this tire is it!
The motorcycle superstore has some of the best deals that I have seen on the net!

I mounted and balanced a new set of Tourances on my R12GSA. Put 3,600 miles on in the last week. From gravel to twisties in the mountains they are great.

good,but pricey
Much improved ride on the street for my KLR.Tires are not the place to compromise and they are all over-priced. Might as well get the best.

The pricing was obviously the most competitive. I have over two thousand miles on the tires in less than a week and they were exceptional on my cross-country trip. I most always end up with purchases through Motorcycle Superstore.

Metzler Tourance STD front tire
I think these are the best street tires available for the type of riding I do. My riding consists of 20,000 miles per year made up of in town, curvy country roads and a smaller amount of interstate. Usually 2-3 times per week they get pushed really hard when riding the curves with friends. These also do surprisingly quite well in the rain and wet conditions. The fronts I get from 13-15,000 out of and 9-10,000 from the rears. These are with the original Tourances. The new EXP's get only about half the mileage as the first version.

these are the best tire i have run on bmw GS i have tried a lot of tires these hold up the best overall. I get at the most about 5000 miles from them i tried a set of the tourance EXP and did not care for them at all to squirrelly and worn out in about 2500 miles.

Very Nice
I bought these tires to replace the stock pair about a week before leaving on a long trip to Indy for Moto GP. They shipped reasonably quickly and were mounted the day before I left, leaving very little time for scuffing. To make matters worse it was pouring down rain on the day of our departure. Hardly ideal with only about 2 miles on them, however they performed flawlessly. My fully loaded DL1000 stuck in the wet quite well with these confidence inspiring tires. Hopefully I'll get the high mileage that other users have seen.

I've been pleased
This is the only tire I've run on my BMW R1150GS. I'm on my third set and don't have experience with another tire but I've been pleased enough to keep buying. Does fine on my long steep gravel drive. Wouldn't recommend for more serious off road. I’ll get about 11000 miles out of this set. Front tread patches wear a bit uneven front to back on my bike and get a bit noisy in the turns toward the end of their lifespan. Not a real problem.

This will be my third Metzeler Tourance on the front. 18,000 miles per tire isn’t bad. Of course the trick is constant correct tire pressure.

I've got 60,000+ miles on my 2004 BMW R1150GS Adventurer. The stock tires lasted just a little over 2000miles. I went with the Tourance after doing a little research on the internet. I made the right choice. On average Im getting 15-17,000 miles of a set of these GREAT tires. Ususally the front I can go a little longer but alway's change both out at the same time.

Tourance for Tire
As most of the Tourances this one is used on a BMW 1150 GS-Adv. In general a great tire in wet and dry conditions for this big and heavy bike. Rear Tires last between 6-8k miles front tire about 12k miles. Would recommend exchange front earlier than 12k due to the extended left side run down (scaling) due to the momentum generated by the boxer engine. Not recommended off road except on gravel roads and hard packed sand. Use TKC80 instead, great tire off road (with half of the mileage).

Great handling in both dry and wet conditions. Doesn't tend to roll like the Michelin Anakee did when hitting gravel in a turn. Little more road noise than the Anakee.

Metzeler Tourance Front on 07 R1200GS
Installed the Metzler as a replacement for the original Dunlop that came new on my GS. The tire was mounted while I was on a road trip about 300 miles from home. As luck would have it, it rained for more than 40 minutes on the ride home and I was leery of the new rubber as the tire had less than 12 miles on it before I headed out. Much to my delight, the Metzeler felt extremely well planted on the rain soaked highway and, after about 20 miles, I completely relaxed and made outstanding time. I also noticed that the tire noise had been reduced compared to the Dunlop and that the overall feeling of confidence in the corners has increased. The final test is to watch them wear. I got just over 6k miles on my rear Dunlop (front likely had another 2-3k worth of tread left) but have heard that the Metzelers can be good for as much as 10k miles on the rear. Of course, a lot depends on how you load your bike and your riding style. I would highly recommend these tires to anyone with a dual-sport bike.

I have been using these Tourance for over 4 years exclusively on BMW GS 1150s. These have an excellent traction on wet/dry pavement. Thread life varies but I am able to "pull" about 8000 miles on the rear one and around 15K on the front. Overall, I am not considering other brands since these provide the safety and comfort I am looking for.

front tourance tire
I ride a GS 1150. This is my 3rd set of tires this year. I get about 6k out of each set.8k in the front if I’m easy on them. I ride mostly blue highways and backside twisty roads with as many dirt/gravel roads as possible.
Off road, they are sketchy and need to be careful in turns. Adjust tire pressure and they respond better. Highway speeds are smooth and tires don't howl. They come stock on BMW's and for good reason, best light use dualsport tire that can handle the load and the speed!
