Stay away from mud momentum won't take you through.
Great tire all around on dirt gravel performs well. In mud wet conditions off road be very careful. Mud is very slick, no good traction. Stay away from mud where momentum won't take you through. The front wheel doesn't bite, it slides. I think I need a full on knobby for the wet mud. They look great, if you stay out of single track mud you'll be fine.

I bought a matching set for my XR650L and love em. I ride mainly asphalt and fire roads. Traction is great on the loose rock/gravel. Traction on grass and wet dirt/mud leaves much room for improvement.
If you ride mainly on the road with the occasional trail the tires perform well.
Keep in mind that these tires run narrow so if you like wide get the widest one they offer.

Great Tires
I have been a Metzeler fan for a long time but have only recently started running the Sahara tire. I'm running them on an 08 Husky 610 TE dual sport with 95% of my time spent on the road back and forth to work. I have around 2,300 miles on these tires and have lost maybe 1/3 of the original tread depth. They do sing a bit at speed while traveling a straight path. The whine goes away with the least bit of lean into the corners though. I have put several hundred miles on these tires on high mountain gravel roads and they are well behaved on both tight and loose gravel/dirt road surfaces. I find them to be a very predictable tire. They have good grip on dry and wet road surfaces. These are not a deep mud tire! They do however live up to their 50/50 rating. The Sahara’s are my future tires of choice.

I love my tire so much that I have not even put it on yet! Amazing tire over 2 months and absolutely no wear... I want to get a front to match so I can look at them both on my wall every day! So good so far...
Not too many miles on them yet (500 or so), though they seem to do really well on the road and on the gravel, though if you get too much off-road they get a little slick. (Mud / not even single track) Not regretting the purchase, though hoping they last a bit longer on my KTM SuperEnduro -- as nothing really seems to last against the 950 engine much more than 1.5 - 2K.

Great Tire So far.....
So far I have put about 1000 miles on the rear tire with minimal wear. The tire grips/performs great on the street especially wet pavement and is great for light to medium off road use; the tire is a little noisy; nothing obnoxious. I have ordered the front tire and will post back how the two perform together. I hope to get 4000-6000 miles with this rear tire and even more with the front; time will tell.

DRZ400SM Metzeler - Enduro 3 Sahara
This has been an all-around awesome experience for me. I ordered this tire through motorcycle-superstore.com and it showed up at my house in record time. I put this tire on my DRZ400SM, and it was a perfect fit. I'd been riding my DRZ about 40 miles a day with 30 of it HWY and 10 miles of it dirt and sand. The stock SuperMoto (SM) tires were fun on the road but were hell in the sand. After putting on the Sahara, I still have a blast on the road (but watch road paint, it is super slick with this tire) but I still wheelie easy, and hold turns like I’m on a rail. This tire really impressed me in sand, it obviously isn't as good as a MOTO-X but for a hybrid, good luck trying to find one that will out-perform this bad boy. I can now wheelie in dirt and on pavement, and can corner equally impressive in both as well. Don't know how long it will last, I'm hoping for around 2-3k miles...we'll see, but I love this tire!

Metzeler - Enduro 3 Sahara Rear
Very nice feel and handling on road. Better grip off-road than the OEM Trailwings. Minimal road noise at speeds. Hopefully there won't be any durability issues.

Metzeler - Great tire!
Just put 50 miles on my new Metzeler tires and they're exceptionally smooth on the highway! I'm using them on my 1989 Yamaha Dual Sport (XT350).

Smooth ride. Only about 700 miles so far. Great all wet traction. Good off road too. Nicest DS tire I ever had. Not too sure yet about tread wear, but seems ok so far.

Tire Review - Metzeler Sahara (Rear)
Mounted it on a KTM LC4 640, which is used about 70/30 street/dirt. Tire is just what I wanted -- Good enough for the dirt, but much smoother and more grip on the street than the MT21 Pirelli knobbies. I mounted it myself and it went on smoothly with just some regular tire irons

Seems ok so far, looks nice on the bike. I can only say so far that it is definitely better than the bald one I had before. I was able to rev through about a foot and a half of frozen ice slush snow in my yard on my klr 250 just fine.

Metzeler Enduro 3 Sahara Rear Tire
These tires came stock with my BMW F650 Dakar and I liked them so much I could not trade them in for a cheaper tire. I just completed the Mohave road run which consist of 300 miles of hwy and 147 mile of sand, rocks, mud, and rive crossings. These tires held up to all surfaces without any problems.

Metzeler Enduro 3
This is the best street tire that still retains some off-pavement capability for large displacement dual-sport bikes. The stiff sidewall results in excellent high speed stability on an R100GS. Good on dry pavement. Very good on wet pavement. An excellent gravel and dirt tire. Stay away from mud where momentum won't take you through.

Metzeler Enduro 3 Sahara
I bought a set of these for my 2004 Yamaha XT225. These are great tires that have improved the handling of my bike considerably. The bike feels much safer with the Metzeler's rather than the stock tires. Better lean angles and less front end wobble at higher speeds. The quality of the rubber is good and they look very nice on the bike. I recommend purchasing a set of these tires.
