Good but not Great
I bought this tire based on the 90% off-road but I must say that I am a little disappointed with the off-road traction after 150 miles on the tire. I think with my experience I would rate it 60% - 40%. If you are looking for good traction in a variety of terrains I would look elsewhere, but wears well on the street.

Great Rear tire
I used a set of these that were half worn during an ISDE qualifier in Idaho City on a vintage TT350 a few years back. Even half worn the rear hooked up great (front needed more grip for this race). Never chunked, always hooked up on and off road, great wear. I would use this rear tire anywhere. This tire is replacing an IRC GP-1 on a DR 650. I will consider putting one on my WR450 with a MT-18 front.

Great tires
Great off road tires yet still OK for pavement. IF you need good off-road tires for your dual sport bike, the Pirelli MT21's are the ones you want.

Pirelli - MT 21 Rear Tire
This is a very good tire for the money. The tire performs well in anything from off road, gravel road and pavement. I have got up to 1500 miles out of one on my 640 Adventure.

Pirelli - MT 21 Rear Tire
Great tire, great price. Road 1,400 miles on dirt, mud and asphalt including a run at 85 mph down I-75 from Nashville. Tire is worn out now and will need to be replaced. I still think the durability is pretty good. It's running on an XR650R and I can spin the tire without much effort. Lot's of power. Going to order another from Motorcycle Superstore again, soon.

This tire is made in brazil. This is where most of the rubber comes from for the world.

This tire hooks up! Now I see for myself why all the enduro guys rave about this tire. Rocks, roots, ledge, mud, sand...no problem!

I would highly recommend this tire for anyone with a DR 650 dual sport motorcycle that is in the dirt 50% or more. They are surprise smooth on the street for a knobby.

Pirelli MT21 Rallycross Review
This is a great tire! I have a 2008 Husqvarna TE450 that I use primarily for off-road riding, but sometimes throw in a commute or errand running for fun. After eating the stock Pirelli rear tire up on the pavement, I needed something more durable, yet still excellent off road. This tire really does a great job. It looks like it will be making concessions to the dirt w/ the round edged knobs, but it does not at all! In soupy mud I can lift the front wheel WAY BETTER than I could the stock offroad tire! In every opportunity, gravel/rock strewn trails, muddy corners, pavement, this tire sticks great!

Larger Knobs than I expected
Hearing all the good hype about the MT21, I bought a set for use on my DRZ 400S, and am pleased with the increase of traction the MT21 puts down as a rear in most situations, still slippery in red clay-mud, and on hard packed forest roads covered in leaves. Overall I'd say its a very nice tire that I would buy again, but the front leaves things to be desired.
